Robromance Posted February 25, 2013 Share #1 Posted February 25, 2013 [glow=green]I. Basic Info[/glow] Characters: Estelle Dusoir Primary character: Estelle Dusoir Linkshells: None as of yet. Primary RP linkshell: n/a [glow=blue]II. RP Style[/glow] Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium! I have never RP'd in an MMO format before so this is all kind of new for me, but I am really looking forward to just jumping right in and getting as involved with as much RP as possible when ARR starts up! I will very likely be involved with OOC stuff (like leveling jobs Estelle would never touch, occasional endgame stuff, or just hanging out with non-RP bros) though, so I think a medium level of RP is a good place for me to start. Views on RP combat and injuries: Combat and injuries are things that absolutely must be discussed beforehand for me. I love me some good conflict, and things like injuries, scars, and losing are fantastic tools for character development. But I am very new at spur-of-the-moment MMO style RP combat, so please let me know before you start a fight with any of my characters! Even just a "x is going to take a swing at you now, okay?" in /tell, or a "*x gets ready to throw a punch at y*" is good enough for me when in game. It gives me a chance to know what my character may be getting into, and to back down if need be. Views on IC romance: It's not one of my highest priorities for RP, but I certainly enjoy it when it happens! It can be a fantastic way to develop characters, and can really add some extra variation and character motivation to the overall story. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): It's awesome and I am super looking forward to it! I love pretty much anything that will net my characters more development or conflict so any general, romantic, combative, or family related RP is always welcome! I would very much appreciate it if any RP involving possible family ties, romance, or combat be discussed before starting it up, however. Views on lore: I once had someone tell me that "True creativity is being able to create something unique and original within a strict set of guidelines or rules." For me, it is by far much more fun and interesting to play as a realistic, flawed character that fits in the world I'm trying to play in than it is to break all lore and common sense for the sake of being original. Lore should be followed as a guideline and, as a rule, shouldn't be broken when making characters. But I also believe that those guidelines should be pushed as far as they possibly can be. I think characters should try their best to break free from the stereotypes their jobs or race may carry, and if they can come up with a hilarious back story for their character that doesn't break canon (such as being raised in the wild by chocobos), then I say all the power to them! Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I don't think I would mind trying /say RP every once in a while, but I have a feeling I would be much more comfortable in /party chat, IC /linkshell chat, or /tell chat. I'm not really comfortable with clogging up the chat stream for non-RPers, as I understand a lot of them don't really take kindly to that kind of thing most of the time. [glow=purple]III. Robromance Posted September 28, 2013 Author Share #2 Posted September 28, 2013 Okay, I just did a HUGE revamp of my profile for my main character. Estera is now Estelle Dusoir, and is now a Wildwood Elezen instead of a Duskwight Elezen. If anyone would like to take a look at her new profile, it can be found here. Screenshots of her will be added ASAP. Link to comment
