TheLastCandle Posted April 8, 2013 Share #26 Posted April 8, 2013 For Teveriel, I'd have to say Sage, similar to Tellah from FFIV. Red Mage doesn't fit quite as well because of that class's weapon proficiency. Due in no small part to physical limitations, Teveriel is a magic-user through and through, starting out as a Conjurer/White Mage and gradually embracing Thaumaturgy and the study of the primals leading up to ARR. So.. Sage with a dash of Summoner? Link to comment
Lren Posted April 20, 2013 Share #27 Posted April 20, 2013 This is gonna be short and sweet. Lren will almost always been seen as a Lancer or Dragoon, with the start of ARR being when he takes up arms again. Still thinking about what other things he may just dip his feet into, just to have a base knowledge of a certain job. Link to comment
Arlon Posted April 20, 2013 Share #28 Posted April 20, 2013 Uruvion as a Geomancer fit's pretty well, though it's not in the game(yet). He is always fearful of being unarmed and his philosophy is that an unarmed swordsman is a useless one. Archers, he feels, are most vulnerable and very shaky in his opinion. Their bowstrings can be cut, their arrows lost, stolen, or broken or the limbs of their bows shattered. Without that, in his eyes, they are useless on the battlefield. He finds puglists(or anyone who doesn't rely on a weapon for power) to be his strongest allies. "With the environment as my weapon, I am never unarmed" I'm making him a white mage for the time being. Rhynka Posted May 15, 2013 Share #29 Posted May 15, 2013 I think Bard is a nice class for Rhynka, Razamir wants to level it too. Rhynka enjoys singing and playing a wide variety of instruments, her favorite being the sitar. A street performing duo sounds both natural and fun for them to do. Using a bow I think is a nice touch for Rhynka, being a wilder Miqo'te she's most likely a hunter, like a lioness of the savanah. This could also make her more brutal during confrontation, so I'm trying to think of a melee class to level that would suit her, I'm leaning toward hand-to-hand. If they ever came out with Dancer and/or Thief in a future expansion, I'd have to jump on that with Rhynka first thing after installing! Hopefully it would be a fun one to play, because leveling a class/job isn't about IC or OoC so much as it is me enjoying the class I'm playing. That's my own opinion, some I know like to level everything, or only like one class. Play your way, I say! Link to comment
Ronberku Posted May 16, 2013 Share #30 Posted May 16, 2013 I tend to try and stick as much as possible to the ingame classes/jobs. Ronberku had quite a few changes between blacksmith and gladiator over his growing years. He started as a blacksmith at a young age due to his parents running a smith. Before joining a squad and changing to learning the ways of the sword(gladiator). Only to end up taking both blacksmithing and gladiator. Although he tends to prefer using only a sword and no shield. He will still use a shield if he needs to prepare going into a battle. So I guess he leans more towards a fencer. That said, if ninja ever is implemented. I'll be sure to find some way or excuse to make him learn it. But blacksmithing is something that is set in stone for him and will always be there. Link to comment
Grott Posted May 16, 2013 Share #31 Posted May 16, 2013 Right now, Abodo Po falls under Thaumaturge/ Black Mage, but I see him becoming a sort of half tech half magic class like a Gun Mage in the coming years as he finds a balance between science and magic. Right now he is kind of flip flopping between 100% magic and 100% science. Link to comment
Moonfire Posted May 19, 2013 Share #32 Posted May 19, 2013 I am glad you started this thread! My RP and game play are a woven tapestry. One always compliments and meshes with the other. My character likes to help people and is fun and playful. I haven't played FF before so bare with me.... I figure conjurer/maybe white mage for heals and eventually heading into bard because of her deep appreciation for music and beauty. She would also be interested in a monk fighting style because of the beauty and free feeling in the martial art of it. Fishing is a main part of her tribe so she will have that skill also alchemy because she is curious how things fit together and react to each other. Link to comment
Grott Posted May 19, 2013 Share #33 Posted May 19, 2013 Been thinking about this thread since I've been brainstorming my new character (which will hopefully be my final result for launch). Uther Skystrider is a pretty cut-and-dry Dragoon all the way around, even when I'll be leveling Lancer I'll be considering myself Dragoon. But I think it's worth noting that he specializes in all monsters, not just dragons, and he's also a bit of a vagabond. Link to comment
