Q'nahli Posted August 27, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 27, 2017 Hey everyone! I have two questions regarding an archer's arrows: does an archer create the effects of windbite, flame arrow, and venombite through aether manipulation? If so, could an archer theoretically imbue their arrows with ice aspected aether or lightning aspected aether? I'm wondering because I've been getting mixed messages from quests and general lore. When the player learns windbite, the dialogue implies aether is involved, but I'm not sure about venombite. Also, flame arrows seems to only be a thing when the archer has oiled arrows or has a conjurer with them to imbue their arrows with fire (as seen in he 1.0 opening cut scene). Also, in 1.0 bars had to have levels in Conjurer, but I'm not sure if that has any relevance. Thanks in advance for any and all answers! Link to comment
Firefly Posted August 27, 2017 Share #2 Posted August 27, 2017 I'd assume venombite is done with actual poison arrows, seeing as it's unaspected. Windbite probably does use aether. Considering a lot of bard abilities are aether-based (songs etc.), I think it's relatively safe to assume that they like to use aether in their techniques. Besides, magic among Eorzeans isn't particularly a rare thing. Link to comment
