New to the game, wish to RP, but some important questions

Recommended Posts

So, here they are :

1) Chat is confusing me. When you are in a city, which channel do people use (is it /yell?) as when I use say, my chat is white, and all the rest is red. Plus no one ever answer me, so I Wonder if I am doing this all right.

2) How can you move the chat window?

3) When can you use a mount.

4)What is the difference between a linkshell and a free company ( and which one is a guild? )

That covers part of it, thanks in advance folks

Hiya! Welcome to RPC!

1) For the red text, it is shout. This I believe is seen area wide.

2) To move any of the windows, hit escape, then there will be an option to rearrange your HUD.

3) I do not have one yet, but I believe you can get one once you are level 20 and have joined a Grand Company.

4) A Linkshell is like a chat channel, and a Free Company is basically a guild.

Any more questions I can answer, be sure to ask!

1) The reason it will be red is because your using the wrong chat commands, for example whisper is tell and shout is general.

A) General - /Shout - Orange

B) Shout - /Yell - Yellow

C) Whisper - /tell - Pink

2) Click on the part of the Chat box which has (===l==l==l==).

3) Level 20-25 I think.

4)A linkshell is a clan or a group which you can belong to, you can have a number of linkshells but only representing a single one at a time, while the Free Company in this case is your guild and you can only have one of these.

Hansem, welcome in!

Drahem, good answers!

I've seen some people use Yell (yellow) instead of Shout but Shout seems to be the "general channel". I'm not even sure what the difference is between the two. o_O

Say (white) has a short range and is used for RP or just random chit-chat for non-Rpers... in crafting guild areas, people sometimes use Say to ask question about how stuff works, too.

Often Yell is between general and /say, you can hear it from a pretty good distance, but not over the entire zone

I kind of wish they had called it general, shout and yell are too similar
