UnbeknownstGhost Posted August 31, 2010 Share #101 Posted August 31, 2010 Well, technically a female wolf is still a bitch. And people overuse wolves now. I remember liking them before they were 'cool'..... was kind've joking, y'know. I remember liking everything before it was "cool", who doesn't!? Some people only think female dogs are bitches. *Shrug* And actually, I liked very few things before they were 'cool'. Mostly because I didn't learn of them 'till after. Wolves however, I have like since I was three. I know waaay too much about them. Link to comment
Lunavati Posted August 31, 2010 Author Share #102 Posted August 31, 2010 Yeah, Mia I see as much more panther/predatory, NOT cutesy catgirl AT ALL. I think of feline as proud. Then again, want her to be curious and a bit jumpy/hyper. AND now I see that open beta has been postponed. Link to comment
Lunavati Posted August 31, 2010 Author Share #103 Posted August 31, 2010 Also, for all those who want wolf-people, I hear there's a cataclysm coming soon. :cat: ...I'm kidding, don't hit me! D: *smacks Soren gently* My WoW hunter had a worgen as a pet until they fixed the glitch--he was hot. I quit playing after they took him away from me. But yep, agree, would like to see some other beast/humanoid choices at some point. JUST NOT SPARKLY BAT PEOPLE. Link to comment

falcolas Posted August 31, 2010 Share #107 Posted August 31, 2010 I'd hope that the cat girls would be rare, but given SE's own perpetuation of that theme, I don't see it happening, sadly. I'll agree with those who are going with some of the big cats as inspiration - it's easy to see how a puma or lion based Miqo'te could be a very formidable character. Personally, I'm still unsure of what I want to play. I'm really leaning either towards a Sun Seeker Miqo'te or a Sea Wolf Roegadyn. The Miqo'te appeals to my "good looking" senses, while the Roegadyn appeals to the ideal of creating a "gentle giant". We'll just have to see which I "feel" more when Open Beta arrives. I designed Seraj in mainly "golden" colors exactly with this in mind ^^. She's definitely not meant to be cutesy, which is why slightly more feral options in the character creation would have been nice, but oh well. And Malrend: Weremoths would be AWESOME! Link to comment
Lunavati Posted August 31, 2010 Author Share #111 Posted August 31, 2010 Where's the love for werelampreys? D: Werelampreys....I be getting visions, and they ain't pretty. Werefish? Wait those would be mermaid/men things. Been done. Werefly? Ditto--see bad B movie that I love anyway. Werehorse! Wait, um centaur. Dang. I fail at new weres. Oh, and I refuse for my Miqo'te to have fleas. Nada. Or like catnip. Or milk. And nobody better grab my tail...unless inivted. Link to comment

Lunavati Posted August 31, 2010 Author Share #117 Posted August 31, 2010 I usually don't play humans. I was torn between all the non elf races for this one. (I don't like elves) I ended up going with hyur because the character in the cutscenes looks exactly like me. /shrug. Is so true. Saw you in RL thread. Spooky resemblence. Link to comment
Satrina Posted August 31, 2010 Share #118 Posted August 31, 2010 I IS a female! And I think we are not that rare in mmo's. You're actually the majority, at about a good ~70%. however ~68% of females who play MMOs also play as male characters and not females, while ~34% of males cross over to be female characters. Kashemia Posted August 31, 2010 Share #119 Posted August 31, 2010 Yeah, girls are no longer as rare as some people would like the believe ^^ Especially not among roleplayers, there always seem to be a lot of chicks Link to comment

Yeah I was one of those girls once. I played a male becuase I got sick of getting harrassed by people after they found out I was a real girl gamer. *shudders* I did it to get away from them. But the miqo'te are my favorite. And I will play the kitty race! :cheer: Just need a stick to bat at the guys with later. I have no intention of playing a male this time around! Link to comment
Trizzip Posted August 31, 2010 Share #121 Posted August 31, 2010 In my FFXI experiance, females who were actually real females usually rolled Female Hume or Elvaan. I've never met too many females that rolled as male characters (although, I wouldn't blame them if they are trying to escape weirdos from hitting on them). I remember cat girls were in quite a surplus in XI so I wouldn't be suprised if that was the case once again in 14. In fact.....let me see if I can find the old FFXI census stats. Link to comment
Kashemia Posted August 31, 2010 Share #122 Posted August 31, 2010 One thing I've always thought was sort of funny is that people seem to be sort of split in two: Either you hit on female chars, believing them all to be actual girls, or you think all female chars are guy because there obviously are no female gamers. I think even on this forum (maybe even in this thread?), someone said "I'm gonna assume that all Miqo'te are males until proven otherwise". That is sort of funny to me, since it seems like quite a lot of the Miqo'te players are are female, myself included. One thing that has always annoyed me a bit though, is the idea that a girl playing a female char must mean that it will be an extremely girly and cutesy character, and that girls playing male chars are cooler, because they don't want said cute character. Not all girls are obsessed with being cute Link to comment
UnbeknownstGhost Posted August 31, 2010 Share #123 Posted August 31, 2010 It's a rule of the internet. If someone online says they are female then they are not until proven otherwise. Link to comment
falcolas Posted August 31, 2010 Share #124 Posted August 31, 2010 This tangent leads me to the question... What does it really matter who is behind the keys? If it's a female character, and we are roleplaying, my character is going to treat them as female (including potentially flirting with them). That's why it's roleplaying. In my experience, if your actions are driven according to the person behind the keyboard rather than the character... it's generally going to lead to drama and cause nothing but problems. I've been bitten by this a few times in the past, so I've simply come to the conclusion that it just doesn't matter who is behind the keys. Grandma or Grandpa, Fat Albert or Pauley Perrette; IC is IC, and OOC is OOC. Link to comment
Asyria Posted September 1, 2010 Share #125 Posted September 1, 2010 Heh about the importance of who's behind the keyboard, like a wise man once said... In Shakespeare's days, all female roles on stage were done by men. If it was good enough for him, it's good enough for you. Link to comment
