Server Spots, when do they open?

So I've been wanting to make a character on Balmung but as soon as I thought of doing so it seems like all the slots are full. Is this normal and if so when does the server usually cycle back open?

Balmung is usually open in the early mornings through afternoons US Eastern time, though it's usually fairly restricted on the weekends. The best approach is to keep an eye on this Lodestone post, which is updated 5 times a day with the current server status.

They update regularly (time listed across the top)

 

non-peak hours are ideal to make a character due to the massive drop off in traffic.

Thanks to the both of you, I'll definitely keep an eye on that post and hope something opens up soonish, my days off from work are Tuesday and Wednesday so that works out all right!
