Auron Heartwood Posted October 21, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 21, 2013 "Home sir?" The sailor asked to his captain, "Aye... home. What is home?... who is home? Where is home? Its a question with many meanings... and isn't easy to answer. I was born in the highlands. In the great city of Ala Mhigo." "...so..." The young sailor looked down to ground with a solemn expression. "You have no home." The captain laughed, and he shook his head, "I have a home, lad. But it does not lie in some distant ruin in the north." The Captain pointed into the infinite horizon of the glassy sea and then placed a firm hand on the navigation wheel of the ship. "Home is here... the Nautilus. It is among our brothers and sisters. Those who fight by our side. It matters not what blood courses through your veins. Nor that which courses through the man at your back's... If you shed your blood together... you are brothers." It was the warrior's way of the Northern Highlanders. Sword-brothers they called a fellow warrior. "... but what do we fight for, Captain? How do we decide what battles are worth fighting? What cause is worth dying for?" The captain smiled at the young man seeing that he was far beyond his years in some ways. An old soul within a young shell. "Not for cause of King or Nation. We fight for the brotherhood. We fight for the brothers and sisters at our side. Nothing more, nothing less. This is the home for soldiers who could not find a home anywhere else. A brotherhood without banners. We choose our battles. We choose our enemies. We choose our allies. Our destiny is in our hands... and your destiny is yours to mold... What you are now, and what becomes of you is decided entirely by you. I was a remnant. A splinter of something shattered that meant much more than any one man. We are all remnants now... splinters that were scattered and have now become one. And with every shard, is a hope to build something new. Something better than what we lost." The young man grew silent at the Captain's reply. He never had a home anywhere. He was just like the Captain in his eyes. Perhaps not as brave, or wise, but he felt akin to the man who was leading them. Somehow, he knew, this was his home. And it would be, until the day he died. A brotherhood without banners. And he would find his place in his new nation without bounds or borders. The Nautilus was a place of opportunity for any man to rise to fortune. Remant: A Brotherhood Without Banners is a group of adventurers, pirates and mercenaries. Not thieves without morals, but rather men and women who have chosen to control their own destiny. It is very much a vigilante / mercenary / nautical themed group that is open to any spectrum of players, races, and classes. Our primary focus will always be first and foremost, role play. This would be classified as a Heavy Roleplaying Guild. There is not a website, and one will provided once we reach a certain member count. For now, if you are interested, please send Auron Heartwood a PM, and we will meet and greet and talk details of your entry to Remnant. We're looking very forward to reaching out to many opportunities to engage other players and free companies in server wide RP. If you would like to use us or affiliate with us for certain storylines, please do not hesitate to ask. Link to comment
