Making of a Realm 7: A Message from the Art Director

Not a whole lot of interesting content in this one, I must say... but the whole point about encouraging us to set out on adventures by ourselves might be related to the somewhat limited amount of hard-coded quests there seems to be.

While there is a storyline, I feel there's also a part of sandboxyness in this game.

Sandboxyness: Related to a sandbox type of game. ^^

'What about something more substantial, like greater variation in face and body types, so I can make a Miqo'te that looks like a grown woman?'

'Uh... PS2 Limitawaitdamn.'

That too! I played a mithra in XI, and I remember I was always wishing I could select a voice so that my character could be more of an alto. Although we do now have options, miqo'te players got slapped in the face; their selections include: school girl, school girl, and school girl. What, you wanted to play something aside from a school girl? Tough luck. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed, and that was one of many things that pushed me to play a hyur this time around-- who, fortunately, do have some variety in their voice options.

That's pretty much what I thought. FFXI didn't have much customization to begin with.
