So, I picked up FFXIV on Steam and I've got my free month now. I've been wondering if I should play this game and then I found you guys AND there's a sale on Steam! Anyway, I really enjoy RPing though I haven't really RPed in an MMO before because most MMOs I've played frankly don't have an RP community. I've done all kinds of RPing in games, forums and on Skype and I can't wait to get to RP with some of you!

 

Man, it's hard to resist speaking like a pirate with this language setting on - Thank you for including that.

Hello hello!

 

Nice to see some people taking up FFXIV on steam, I wish there was a way to tie in the existing game officially, but I launch mine through steam. If you'd like an invite to the RPC Steam group [some occasional games of CIV and TF2,] feel free to send me a message at my name "Olofantur" and i'll get you invited.

 

So what other MMO's have you played? I started in UO, but I was too young to really enjoy it or understand it [woo kid gaming!] but by the time EQ came around I was ready for it and on my way. You'll find plenty of veterans of both the RP community and the MMO community here. Anywho~ i've got a few links i'd like to share.

As for the MMOs I've played in the past? I've never really found much of a stable foundation in an MMO due to the fact it always seems lonely for me as I always end up solo questing, luckily that hopefully won't be a problem RPing with you guys. Anyway, as for what I've played, I've dabbled in a little bit of WoW, Warhammer Online, Global Agenda, EVE and I briefly played SWTOR, but I didn't really enjoy that. I've been contemplating playing FFXIV for a while as I am a lover of FF, though my experiences are mostly with KH, I have played a few of the games (Namely - I, II, VII and XIII).

 

As it happens as well, I play Civ and TF2 as well (Though I haven't played the latter in a while) so I guess the Steam group would be pretty cool to be in.

 

So anyway, can't wait to RP! This is the first time I've actually found an active RP community in an MMO...

Hello hello! I've never gotten the hang of Pirate Speak, so you'll just have to bear with plain ol' boring me. ;)

 

Great to see more people joining FFXIV through Steam, as others have said! I hope you're enjoying your stay in Gilgamesh so far! Be sure to check out the Linkshell directory for that server, and if you ever have a question or are just looking for places to RP, shoot me a /tell at Framboise Zakuro and I'll gladly help out (as long as I'm on)!
