E'irawen Posted September 5, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 5, 2014 I had made on in connection to paying tribute to the lives lost in the Calamity, based on a real world festival. However, because it is not something canon in Eorzea, so I was wondering if it would be accepted well by players or not? I could see how it could be vague like "I read that this was done in a land far from here" or something, but so far thats the only way I could imagine it "working." Thoughts? Link to comment
Coatleque Posted September 5, 2014 Share #2 Posted September 5, 2014 because it is not something canon in Eorzea, so I was wondering if it would be accepted well by players or not? Just because there is no quest-line that involves such an event doesn't mean the people of the world wouldn't have some kind of memorial service like you described. I don't think there's been a culture in the history of the world that has never honored their dead in some way. And all fiction is drawn in some way from our real existence. I would consider it very "lore-friendly" myself. Link to comment
E'irawen Posted September 5, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted September 5, 2014 Im glad! That was my main worry. Ive met many who take the game very very literally lately instead of allowing a bit of flexibility (within reason). Link to comment
Dogberry Posted September 5, 2014 Share #4 Posted September 5, 2014 I've been working on the details of hosting an event based on the Naval tradition of the Court of King Neptune during an equator crossing. That's kind of like a holiday? Link to comment

If you build it, they will come. Go for it! It will take a lot of work and dedication but if you focus on this RP event, you can get it to take off. This is coming from someone that's character made pumpkins a staple in Hydalen for breakfast, lunch and dinner all twelve moons! If you need any help at all, let me know. I'd be happy to lend assistance. Link to comment

Jezune Garinthe Posted September 8, 2014 Share #7 Posted September 8, 2014 More and more celebration events would be awesome. Those are always great, though they get super crowded. I'll bring the fireworks Link to comment
