As we've grown over time, I think it's time to pick up some additional moderators to cover times when Merri, Alothia, Xenedra, and I aren't around. As a prospective moderator, you:

1. Have a reasonably thick skin and a relatively good sense of humor.
   
2. Can be fair and balanced in your application of rules, even when you don't agree with something or you're personally offended by it.
   
3. Can set aside your personal feelings and be objective, even when it comes to your friends.
   
4. Are willing to have a light touch even when you really want to unleash Modjollnir, Hammer +6 of Bannination and Righteous Thread-Locking.
   
5. Can clearly split your mod posts from your personal posts.
   
6. Are willing to be an excellent, friendly, helpful poster, even when things get heated -- which includes stepping out of hot topics, even if you're personally invested in them.
   
7. Can keep a secret, even from your FC leader, your best friend in-game, Tumblr, or other forums you're on (because we don't comment on disciplinary actions).
   
8. Have an obsessive desire to refresh the main page of the forum.
   

In return, you get... a shiny blue name with lots of stars under it and access to the mod tools. What can I say? It's a hard, largely thankless job that's not for everyone.

 

If, however, you want to help keep the RPC a nice place, you think you fit the profile, and your primary activity times here are any of:

• Late nights/early mornings US Central time (from around 0500 to 1200 UTC)
  
• Friday and Saturday evenings US Central time (from around 1000 to 0500 UTC)
  
• EU daytimes (from around 0800 to 1700 UTC)
  

...send me a PM with your in-game name, primary server, primary FC membership (if any), past moderation experience, and an example of a complex moderation situation and how you handled it (or an example of a complex moderation situation here on the RPC and how you would have handled it).

 

This mod call doesn't obligate us to select any applicants, to use the same approach to screen all applicants, or to explain why we chose a particular applicant and not another. Preference will be given to those whose primary server is Gilgamesh, but please apply no matter what server you're on if you want to help out!
