I read this earlier. Went into work, quit my job, broke up with my girlfriend, went to the grocery store and got supplies. My body is ready.

I'm sure we weren't the only two who were worried about the whole Lightning thing. At first I was really worried about if they were actually being serious or not. Everytime i start to doubt the team behind this game I remember what they've done for all of us fans. The fact that Yoshi has went through so much to bring us FFXIV:ARR is just so amazing. This team has so much respect for their fans and it really shows. I'm pretty excited to see how they fit Lightning in. I've decided to just sit back and relax and wait.

I specifically remember reading that there will be an option for your house to add stables for chocobos with the option to breed them. I don't know the full extent. There is also a quest line if you start in Gridania that has a chocobo breeder in it. Though I don't know about different breeds, people definitely breed them for competition, racing, and color.

Sounds fun! Are you planning this for the actual first week of release? As in August 27th+? or for the early access release? Since I'm planning on arcanist and rumors have it that it wont be added to the game until actual release I should be able to focus more on sub classes, including crafting. If this goes for the first actual release, I should already have some crafting classes up already high enough to help out anyway! Let me get some things set in stone and worked out and I'll try to shoot you a PM ASAP. I'd love to help.

(This also applies to Sharod) There should have been an email you got when pre-ordering the game with a special little pre-order code that will let you get access to the pre-release. Serial Number/Product Code: xxxxxx-xxx-xxxxxx-xxx As soon as the early-access starts you'll be able to put this code in, get the download and claim your in-game items. I'm not sure how Amazon or any other store does it. I ordered mine right from the Square Enix store. If you didn't get this in your email I suggest searching around the official FFXIV forums to see if you can figure it out. Also, I hear you Kyatai! This game's sound track is amazing. There is a youtube channel with 73 FFXIV songs on it that I've listened to many times already lol.

My main character, Sera'leina, has the same problem. I'm planning on rolling scholar eventually, and my back story to her was written before I read that arcanist won't be added until the actual launch. (Still don't know if this is true. I haven't found anything official about it and I'm staying hopeful that it is released during phase 4 or at the very least early access) But honestly, even if the arcanist class won't be in yet, I don't see it as too big of a problem. We're all RPers here. We let our imaginations guide us, so just get to work on your sub-classes Conjurer/Arcanist for Scholar or Thaumaturge/Arcanist for summoner. I'm sure everyone will be understanding about the situation. Or, since you said you think he'd have more of a pugilist upbringing, start that. Really, he's your character. Just do what you want!

YES! Thank you so much for saying something Went to the beta forums and you're right. There is a 5 day beta test starting on the 10th. Looks like they are finally doing the stress testing which should be the very last part of phase 3! 5 whole days to play... *evil laughter*

Welcome! Why is your biggest concern that you get it on launch day with Amazon? I think what you mean is that you're worried you won't get it on time? In that case, don't worry! If you've pre-ordered the game, you get early access before launch, so you can install and play from the website even without the physical copy 8-)

Whats up, guys? Another new member here. I'm Dustin (Thats my real name) and I'm basically completely new to RPing. I've played a few pretty casual games of DnD with some friends of mine, but they played more for the actual game of it and not for the RP aspect, which IMO is the fun. :thumbsup: Anyway, after playing the beta and getting completely decimated by the ARR hype train, I've decided to take a leap into the awesome RP community and found my way to this awesome site. Although I've been playing MMOs off and on since 6th grade, starting with Runescape 1, EQ, the good times back in vanilla WoW and onward. Name an MMO and I've probably played it. I've never picked up RPing or either FFXI or FFXIV until now. I honestly don't know why, because I LOVE Final Fantasy. My little delima - Apart from being new to RP, I've also decided to take on the roll of a female main character in game due to many reasons. I find when I try to RP a male it ends up being basically the same person in the end - an Auron-like badass quiet protector. Apart from that, I've also decided to roll a healer/support type (arcanist/scholar). I love the female Miqo'te model and animations, and even though I've spent the past few weekends in beta trying to convince myself to roll a male character I've just decided to scrap the idea and roll female. It also just seems fun. I've been trollin around this place for a while now and everyone seems fun and awesome, so I'm not too worried about it, but I have heard horror stories of guys who RP females getting crapped on, so I wanted to make the whole thing clear before hand. I'm a guy. I'll be RPing a female. I don't know how common that is because I'm such a newbie, and I'm nervous about it, if you can't tell hahaha. So take it easy on me. I do have a handful of other characters with more complex back stories that I've been brainstorming over the weeks, but I wanted to start off with a pretty basic one seeing as how this will be my first character and I've taken the leap into the female world as well. I'll be working on getting the wiki and some back story up soon, so I guess I'll see you all around the HRC site and after the ridiculously long wait is over, on Gilgamesh! :thumbsup:
