Amity Fields is very, very, very active!

That may well be the case. It's not "my string" that I've noticed being fixed though, for what it's worth. Rather, every single string I've known not to work suddenly worked fine. I was hopeful this meant the issue was fixed, but I suppose that's not the case. Something definitely did change though!

For Santasha? No, not at all. If your heals were hitting for as much as you say they were, your tank probably had inappropriate armor.

Personally, I'd rather send one big block and then send a "(done)" or equivalent—our company uses "<3" for this purpose—than have to hope every part of a multi-part post went through. With how I do it, I can be 100% sure that everything's getting to the other end—even if it does mean that I occasionally need to break up posts (and send a "<3" after each part) if the other person tells me they didn't see anything.

The only way to fix it is to report the problem the next time you run into it. Include the exact text that was dropped, make it clear that it's 100% reproducible, state that it makes no difference who sends it or how it is sent (/party, /say, etc), and so on. If enough people report this issue and report it clearly and accurately, I'm sure it'll get fixed eventually. Please don't neglect to report this bug just because I've already reported it! SE is swamped at the moment and prioritizes whatever has the most people clamoring for a fix. As bad as it is, lots of people filing related reports is probably the only way this issue will be resolved within the next month or two.

It's a secret! Usually we'll start off doing work for the Wailers or similar with location information coming in via linkpearl so we know where to gallop off to. After a bit though, you just RP about whatever while you run around and kill things. It's just not any fun to pretend goblins are attacking the same thing again after you've already dispatched them several times! The fact that events in this game are sort of icky, don't really chain much, and generally disappear without consequence if a timer runs out makes it hard to address them too directly. Guild Wars 2 does it a lot better!

Edit: Please ignore this post! I think I misinterpreted what I was replying to!

Given that you can just copy and paste your password into the launcher, I suggest using a separate program to store your passwords in an encrypted manner. You can then use whatever hideously long password you want for FFXIV without issue! It'll be as safe as can be, even if you're not able to use the symbols you normally would.

I find that fighting these things with a big dose of sugary kindness works best! Next time, try something like the following via a private tell: A lot of people will play poke-the-role-player if they just see you as a character, but if you make it clear that there's a nice person on the other end too they'll usually relent immediately. Even the truest jerks will rarely continue to harass you when they see you're all flowers and sunshine! It's just not fun to try and annoy someone that's unflappably full of joy! I actually have a 100% success rate with this approach! Give it a try!

On the plus side, I had a lovely role-play last night that involved macros to send each other hearts after every line to ensure we got the message! It was just like usual but with even more love!

I'm quite sure the original post was very much meant to be tongue-in-cheek: No one's calling for anyone to demand anything. In any case, it seems like they've accepted the bug so now we just wait!

Please test with the examples in my bug report. So far as I know, they don't work anywhere no matter who sends them.

Oh! I didn't notice that yet! They must have just moved it minutes ago! Thanks, Chloe! <3 Yay! I feel so much better now! Time for an ice cream fish!

It's been two days since I first noticed it and almost two days since I first reported it, not less than 24 hours as you claim. Just saying! In any case, people are just worried because this is an issue that primarily affects role-players it would seem. Given that we're not exactly the most numerous bunch, it makes sense for us all to go and report our experiences so that SE is aware of the severity of the issue. This is doubly true considering they may have a different filtering system on the JP servers entirely and, as such, most of the developers will not even be at risk of encountering this problem themselves when playing the game.

Thank you for drawing more attention to this matter. I do already have a post on the RPC regarding this issue though. I guess two can't hurt: It really is that annoying! It's actually very easy to reproduce: The same strings fail every time in my experience, regardless of who sends them. See my bug report for some examples.

Not to bug everyone, but this is still occurring as of now and it's incredibly annoying. I experience about 5% loss of my longer posts and, as such, role-playing is quite painful for me and many others. If any of you encounter this bug, please post the exact message on my bug report so that SE has more information to work with. It may also help draw more attention to the problem and enable a quicker resolution.
