Expressing my interest for all of the events above. As soon as dates for any of these are posted I can guarantee that at least a few of our members at The Seven Seraphim will be joining the fu. On that note, we're also considering putting together a kind of summit/forum so that RP groups/L's can introduce themselves in game. The format would have group leaders coming up on stage and giving a speech to attendees. Of course we would have a mast of ceremonies and other pieces to help organize this. I'll be posting details once I get back from vacation in a week. Do you feel this would be a worthwhile venture? Thoughts?

Thinking on this we should probably postpone. Considering all the maintenance/log in issues people are experiencing I feel like it would be impossible to schedule this. Revisit next weekend perhaps? In any case I'll be eyeing this thread all week at work :lol:. We'll see how things go.

I'll try to attend myself although Sunday is not the best day for me. In any case I'll definitely put it up on our own events calendar. Cross pollination is always good...

Hey all (Rock), Just wanted to let you know it looks like me and my posse might have to skip out on this one. The majority of the newer players that wanted to attend are having issues getting onto Gilgamesh due to the high population. We'll be very excited to do something like this in the future but it just looks like there's not enough new players from my FC who got the chance to create a character on Friday. I can do a session in ul'dah saturday night after 10pm est Sounds good Rock. I'll be meeting up with my FC/RP mates just before so that's pretty good timing. We'll all head over there from Gridania. Where in Ul'dah did you have in mind? And by the way, thanks for doing this!

Is there some sort of consensus on this? I'm sure I can get some interest going from some members of my FC who are new to RP. It would be awesome to get some help from some veterans.

Rock, I think that Friday would work well I'm just afraid that not all beginning RPers might be able to start on the 16th since that day is reserved for previous Beta Testers. Maybe sometime on the weekend would be friendlier? In either case I'm sure I can get a good showing from some members of my RP group that don't have a lot of experience RPing in an MMO. Should be fun!

We are a multi-faceted Free Company which accepts and represents Casual Players, Roleplay Players, and Hardcore Players. Our Company is dedicated to creating a Community of Respectful, Helpful, and Polite players, to creating a refuge for those who wish to play A Realm Reborn with like-minded individuals! Our Company is made up of three united groups, each led by two Officers that each focus on a different side of these three gaming styles. The Steel Hammers The first of these styles is the Casual Player. These players belong to the Steel Hammers, and the Officers that help them out most are the Wings of Steel. This group will be dedicated to leveling at a pace that they see fit, while being able to Roleplay when they wish, and even join Hardcore raids/PvP/Dungeons when they reach the higher levels. The Silver Tongues The second of these styles is the Roleplay Players. These players belong to the Silver Tongues, and the Officers that help coordinate Company Roleplay runs/scenarios/events are the Wings of Silver. This group will be free to engage in the creation of Lore, development of character biographies, interactions between other characters, and any other form of RP that they wish to perform, with like-minded, respectful people. They will, of course, be able to run with any of the Steel Hammers, and join the Hardcore raids/PvP/Dungeons once they reach the appropriate levels as they see fit. The Mythril Blades The third of these styles is the Hardcore Players. These players belong to the Mythril Blades, and the Officers which assist these players are the Wings of Mythril. These players will be of a more Hardcore mindset, with the objectives of Power-Leveling, gearing, and Endgame Content being their primary objectives. With these three groups set up under one banner, any Company Member can easily and fluidly move between the groups as their play styles and lives change. Thank for the source. I'm sure I'll get more into the lore as I go on. As kind of a side project I also got inspired to try and map the stars in this game. The detail there is incredible. It also happens that my character's background is going to do something with astronomy so I think it's a good fit. Hope there are some like minded people out there! Rock on...

I'm excited to become part of this community. I don't have a lot of RPing experience but playing through FFXIV beta I found it hard not to become very attached to my character and creating a background/origin story for him. I've decided to do this through more of a graphic novel than the traditional forum post. All the art is directly from screenshots in game that have gone through a few filters so I make no claim to being a great artist . I have only a few pages so far which flashback to before the Great Calamity. The first part should cover my character's involvement and eventual transportation into the new realm. Was looking to see if anyone had any comments or feedback on the art style, readability of the text, layout or lore. Please excuse the typos in these initial drafts. I do plan on going back and redoing the text so I've elected to just get on doing more pages for the time being. I do have one question for you experts on the stuff. Is there an actual date for the Great Calamity?
