Whether or not they do so, I thank them for providing us with so much joy, and camaraderie, and delicious chocolate eggs. Sometimes we forget there is glory also in humble servitude, as much as there is in any grand gesture of spiritual power. Hatching-Tide.. Some argue that Hatching-Tide disguises a crisis of faith. That in our desperation to prove the existence of the divine, we foolishly grasp at footprints the gods might have left behind - a curiously shaped stone, sacred trees, visions - or perhaps, a nice egg, in these trying times. And some fear we may end up revering these symbols more than we love the gods themselves. I think there is no such cause for alarm. Whether the Archons are summoned or not, I believe in the Twelve. For you exist. And you, and you, and you. Our lives, our fragile yet persisting existences in all the vastness of creation - is this not proof enough of something divine? So I pray we may enjoy the egg hunts and puzzles for what they are - a good excuse to bring our miraculous lives together in fellowship and harmony - and thus, a celebration of faith in Our Lady Nophica, giver of life, at the very least. I'm not on either server alas, but my char is a fanatical Nophica evangelist so I'd be happy to cross-world visit for RP!

Am doing homework for a religious character who would be curious about all kinds of rites and rituals - have done a read through Sounsyy's lore compilations (thanks Sounsyy), trying to understand how death and funerals work, and still have some questions. Appreciate any help and opinions 1. From lore i understand that in Eorzea, upon death, the soul leaves the body (and heads to the afterlife, or so some believe); meanwhile in the living world, the body breaks down into aether and returns to the lifestream. I am curious about how this process actually happens and what this entails for the people who have to clean up after a death. From the ARR MSQ we have seen and handled some corpses... so it seems the process of breaking down seems to not happen immediately, and Uldahans at least are known to bury their dead. Is the 'breaking down to aether and returning to the lifestream' something like the real world process of decomposition, where the body decomposes / rots into organic particles and the aether quietly releases alongside it - or is it accepted that all corpses dissolve into blue dust and dissapear cleanly into the lifestream? I feel like i've seen this happen, i have to watch the alc questline again... 2. There is only one cemetary (the 'lichyard' iirc - near drybone) and one funeral home in all of eorzea (the Ossuary in Uldah). How do Gridanians and Lominsians deal with their dead? I imagine the Lominsians do sea burials... Gridania has the Conjurer's Guild to heal wounded and sick, and the Sanctum of the Twelve for happy occasions, but nothing to deal with the dead (not even a morgue or graveyard for hygiene and disease prevention..) I guess a logical workaround would be 'a sub department of the twin adders / conjurer's guild sees to burials', but i'm curious if there is any explanation for in-game npc death and what happens to corpses, especially in the Shroud with its elementals.

I'm open to out-of-game RP and happy to help plan / build plots for events. Views on RP combat and injuries: (Updated) Sui is 'do no harm' by principle but if I sign up for it, I'll play along. If the aim of combat is in line with his principles of saving Nophica's creations, though, you might be surprised.. Will RP injuries and exhaustion (using magic away from the Shroud tires Sui out fast). Will not RP permanent death, loss of limb etc. I honestly just won't remember stuff like which eye the scar went over... Views on IC romance: OK if it develops logically and makes sense for the characters, and remains purely IC. (Updated) Have to note I love writing sad and complicated fictional relationships and love torturing my OCs, so you'd have to up for that too. I've watched too many Wong Kar Wai movies... Views on non-romantic RP: (Updated) All OK - talk to Sui for an earful about Nophica, drink with him to learn why 'Ishgard must burn', or contact me to arrange for Vague And Dire Prophecy delivery. Views on lore: Lore compliant as much as possible, ok with logical explanations for things like non-compliant names (my own character, cough...) or stuff we're not sure of or isn't commonly known. But please tell me if you know I'm flat out wrong. Views on chat functions: If it is accepted on the server we're RPing on, /say and /em for IC RP. /party is fine too. III. Hi! I'm new on Balmung and would like to find acquaintances or small groups who RP. History and RP preferences - I've played FFXIV for a while, and before that some Korean MMOs, but never RPed in those. I played an RP MUD (text based game) long ago where my char joined a group of mercenaries and we had hunting parties and drank a lot and occasionally got swept up in ongoing conflicts IC. That was really fun and i hope to relive a little of that. Finally I'm a Dark Souls nerd and really love how souls lore and dialogue is written. .. and, so, i'm looking for RP friends! I was also wondering if there exist any linkshells for RP newbies, especially those of us who love and wish to stay in our non-RP FCs. I'm not confident enough to walk up to strangers or attend events alone, so if anyone else feels the same, maybe we can go to events together, or plot OOC until we work up the courage to have our chars meet IC... Char info - Sui Bian is a devout follower of Nophica the Matron and employee of the Botanists' Guild, tending the gardens at Greatloom Growery or repairing equipment. Though he seems to have gone to great lengths to settle down in Gridania, he often makes small pilgrimages to places like Nophica's Wells or the Sagolii Desert - wherever life thrives where it shouldn't. Finally, despite his fervent praise of Nophica, he may accidentally swear by the Fury on particularly heated occasions. Dark of hair and face, his appearance is pleasant but unremarkable, his height somewhat short - for an elezen - and his age seemingly anywhere between twenty to thirty summers.
