So... I tried the game on ftp a couple of years ago, and enjoyed it, but couldn't afford to keep in it. Now, I've lost my contact info to the deep depths of time, and picked the game up and am starting fresh. I have an idea of the classes I like (to start at least), but what I don't have any idea about is where to start, or how to start in RP.
So, I guess my questions should be itemized for ease of response?
I've looked at the responses to "what server is best" and every option mentioned (at least in Aether) is "not accepting players" right now. So, should I try another Data Center in expectation of the "world crossing" update someone mentioned, or is there a better time of day that I should wait for?
How does one find a RP guild (linkshell, I think is the term); are there recruiters in chat or is it more of a "do random RP posts in the hopes of getting contacted"?
Are there races that have an expectation of lore knowledge or negative connotations that will make finding RP harder? (I realize this one is weird, but I've experienced character isolation based on race choice before, mostly in SWTOR)
Sorry about asking so much, just kind of want to get in and play when I get the chance to, and maybe find some people to hang out with and talk to while I grind my level and job(s) up.
