  1. And here is part of the issue. No where in my post did I say anything homophobic. I actually said I was happy for LGBTQ players to have a place they feel they can be themselves. I also didn't blame the RL LGBTQ community. I was just recounting my own personal experiences like every other straight person in this thread that said they felt ignored. However, because I elaborated a little bit on how it made me feel and my thoughts on it. Someone took offense and automatically I'm some kind of homophobe cause I don't want to RP with someone who is gay. Which isn't what I said at all. I just don't want to get into a romance or intimate RP with another guy. I don't mind RPing stories, friendships or whatever else with anyone who is gay or anyone who RPs as the opposite gender. Which I already said. But the reaction to it all also touches upon something else that goes beyond RP that I won't go into here. I'll just conclude with what I've already said. Either everyone's preferences deserves respect, or nobody's does. PS. I have had a lot of RPs with a lot of people. It is the romance and intimate moments (which the thread was originally about) that I'm speaking on. But you are also free to interpret whatever you read however you want. However, just because that's what you think I was saying doesn't mean that's what I was actually saying if you actually read my post.
  2. You can find most of my details here: https://killpond.carrd.co/ But I can give a summary. Killpond is a superhero displaced from his original universe and dropped into Eorzea (Which isn't that lore breaking considering what happens in Shadowbringers). He is loosely inspired by Deadpool, but isn't exact he has a lot of differences. He's not a joke, troll, or a meme character. His only superpower is his fast healing ability, he can break the fourth wall but not to where it breaks story. He's just aware that he is a rp character and that's it. (There is actually a backstory reason as to why.) He doesn't make silly references to it, nor is that the focus of his RP. Very rarely he might make some subtle quip about it but he doesn't elaborate on it. As for being from another universe, that's also not a focus of his RP. He actively avoids talking about it unless he gets to know someone really well and one day confides in them. He mostly does mercenary work because in every world he's dropped into it just seems like something universal and it's something he's always been good at. He was a mercenary in his world before deciding to step into a superhero role. As far as him being a superhero goes. It's more like he will jump in and help someone that's in trouble kind of thing, he doesn't have like a Killsymbol or Killmobile (although there's an idea... I need the regalia...). These are really just basics of him. I don't mind going into more extensive explanation if it's requested. Also can check out my carrd linked above for a lot of it. I'm also curious to meet any Eorzean superheroes, I'm sure they exist somewhere. Other than the whole Warrior of Light deal. Meeting a nice girl would be good too but it's also not a focus but if it happens it happens. His orientation is straight, and so is the player. So if that is something that happens, I would very much prefer that the player also be female just as my preference would be to do any intimate or romantic rp with a female. (Not that I have anything against anyone that does RP like that. Just when it comes to certain situations "It's just RP" is not a good enough excuse for me.) If you are curious to discuss anything my discord is: Killpond#1715 I am also working on a Superhero discord for anyone that would be interested. You can also find that here: https://discord.gg/USGkWM477Y I am currently on Goblin but have been working on leveling up the exact same Killpond character on other worlds. Well the ones I can make new characters on anyway. So please feel free to respond. Also leave the salt in your kitchen. There's really no point in it. If you don't like my idea just please move on and be done.
  3. I know I'm late to the party on this one. Actually pretty late. But here's my take on it. I play a superhero...well sort of. The only power he has is a fast healing ability. (He's loosely inspired by Deadpool... hey don't look at me like that, he's only inspired he isn't an exact copy he has A LOT of differences. Like for one, he isn't a meme or joke character.) And yes he does come from another universe. Not DC or Marvel but a made up one from a Mutants and Masterminds game that me and my local gamer group played for about 8 years. Something happens in that game that causes him to bounce around to different worlds and universes (which isn't that lore breaking considering what happens in Shadowbringers). However, with all of that being said. He is still a superhero, he doesn't have anything over powered. Just the healing ability. He can still get hurt, he still loses fights, and he can even still die... he just happens to come back a few minutes later. Him being from another universe isn't ever the focus of his RP though, he very rarely mentions it... actually he actively goes out of his way to avoid talking about it unless he's known the person for a long time and gotten close with them. As far as being a superhero goes. He's the type that will jump in and go out of his way to save somebody, or help with a situation and then up and leave without a reward or a thank you unless someone is able to stop him before he does. Also on that note while RPing this character I have met a few others that have been "super" in their own character. (I'm also very much interested in finding more superheroes of Eorzea cause I just think it would be a neat idea.) As I said I know I'm late to the party but if anyone is still around I wouldn't mind world visiting someone to set up any RP.
  4. I totally get this. It seems just as hard to find a straight woman that's into a more het rp. Even straight players I have ran into have bi characters for the rp. I also feel a lot like some of the posts made by straight rpers that I'm kind of being isolated and left out just because I prefer to play a straight character and also prefer to rp intimate or romantic situations with a female player. Someone commented and said that it seems to rude to just ask and it might seem rude, but honestly I'm at the point where I don't really care about sounding rude. Responding with "it's just RP" or "Well have you ever tried being gay" is just as rude. I don't mind rping with someone that's rping a character who is the opposite gender or gay or whatever they want to be. But when it comes to certain situations like the OP mentioned when it comes to romance or even intimate situations. I would prefer that RP be with an actual female on the other side. I don't care if it's "just RP" I don't want to have intimate situations with another guy. Sorry, not sorry. But back to the feeling isolated and left out part just for being straight. It doesn't make much sense to me. I am super happy that LGBTQ players have a place they can come to and feel like they can be themselves. That's fantastic, but it shouldn't come at the price of pushing out straight players either. Especially after how hard the LGBTQ community has fought over the years to be accepted and respected for their preferences. Well us straight people deserve for our preferences to be respected and accepted too. Either everyone's preferences deserve respect, or nobody's deserve respect. I've also had moments where I would just bite the bullet and RP at a club that had all female dancers, played by gay or bi male players. I eventually left because they kept harassing me and not respecting my boundaries that I wasn't into doing things like that with another dude. "Have you ever tried being gay?" I thought the whole argument was that they were born like that in the first place. I agree with that sentiment because I know I was born straight.
