Ohhh boy, it's been a while! I've amassed a small collection of art since last I posted. Man, what the heck? When I was younger I was so on top of my forums. Now I barely remember to check them.

All of these drawings are single, but they are terribly picky. You must work hard to woo them out for even a single date. (Thank you! This made me laugh hahaha) Beep beep time for some cat ladiessss The mother of my now-alt, Heteph. She worships Bahamut and is a little bit insane. And here's another FC member, I'tsu Fhuz!

SO HEY. I had to leave the game a few months ago due to not having the time/funds to play, but now I've been back a while and, as a result, have a lot of new art to share! I've settled on a new character since returning and have joined a new FC after my previous one disbanded, so most of this artwork is centered around...well, both of those things. I'll start off basic, so here's just a bleh-whatever-I-needed-an-icon portrait of Giselle Friloux, who is now my main.

I. Basic Info Characters: Heteph Asanti, Gretel Fleischer, Shaggy Hare, F'aror Dybbukh Primary character: Heteph Asanti Linkshells: So far, all private OOC ones- also Intermission3! Primary RP linkshell: -- (open to suggestions) II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Heavy in the sense that I try to always be IC in public channels and I put a lot of time and energy into developing my characters- I don't usually spend a lot of time in game roleplaying so far though, usually from a combination of shyness or just exhaustion from work. Views on RP combat and injuries: I usually RP combat with people I trust to be willing to let their characters mess up, take damage, get hurt, etc. and who trust me to do the same, so I don't really give the mechanics of this much thought. I don't care too much for rolling or IC duels, I'd rather my roleplay feel more like writing than numbers and my skill at the game =/= Heteph's skill with a spear. Views on IC romance: I actually really like IC romance! But, like IC injuries, I only really engage in it with people I trust. It can be a fun way to develop a different side of your characters and to get to know other peoples' characters, also I'm a huge sap. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Oh gosh I love it. Give me all the networking. If I can feasibly link up my character's backstory to a friend's, I will. Views on lore: Still learning the lore for this setting, but I really enjoy it so far. I'll go out of my way to not outright break the lore, but if there's a big gaping chasm in it I also enjoy filling out headcanons that don't interfere with existing lore (like developing the culture of the city/tribe in which Heteph was born). Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I'll always treat /say and /yell as IC with no exceptions. FC and Party really depend on who I'm playing with, but since this game was nice enough to give us an canon/IC use of linkshells I'm glad to go IC with other long-distance channels. III. Other Info Country: USA Timezone: EST Contact info: In game, PM, or my Skype- sabertoothmooselion PS, I'm a big nerd and I love making character inspiration blogs. I've only got one now but I'm sure I'll add more over time. Heteph Asanti

Been focusing most of my creative energy on writing up a wiki page for my miqo'te tribe, but I took a break from it long enough to doodle the birth of Heteph's first son. She and her mother are not so pleased.

Ahhhh the color palettes you choose are just the best. Everything looks so soft and flowy. I love that you draw skin/flesh like it has actual volume and also just looking... pliable and not completely static, it really adds so much to every picture. The latest two are particularly great, I'm such a sucker for height differences in couples.

Thank you so much everyone gahhhh I really wasn't expecting such general niceness, it's really encouraging which is always great when I'm suffering through art slumpage. I was kicked offline about four hours ago and have not been able to log back in since, so I doodled my lancer, Heteph Asanti, who might actually become my main. She fishes with her lance. She's a practical woman.

Torn Sky's Art & Commissions (also open for requests!)
Ty Lee replied to Torn Sky's topic in Artisan House
Ohhh your stuff is so cool :0 I love the wide variety of face types you've got going on and your lines are so crisp and dark and hnnngh expressions. Haha, okay, I'm really bad at being coherent when it comes to appreciating a person's art, but your stuff is great. -
I have a pretty piddly selection of FFXIV art at the moment due to a stressful job sapping most of my creative energy, but I do have some arts of my future-XIV characters in their pre-XIV incarnations! So that counts for something. I'll start off with the actual FFXIV art, haha. Just really simple busts (the first of which is super sloppy due to me no longer having a scanner, sorry!)
-
Ohhh man, so lovely. Those first two remind me a lot of the character bust portraits from the older FF games, which is awesome. I love the waist-up Oriel sketch especially though; something about the shape of his face is just really appealing to me, I think it's his nose. Anyway, wonderful art! Looking forward to more.

I might some day! I've currently got a backlog of commissions for cash that I haven't been able to tend to due to real life being crazy exhausting/hectic, but once those are taken care of it is possible.
-
Hey, thanks! I made it last night; the result of a quick, sloppy effort to hash together something maybe vaguely resembling the character I may or may not make. You can see the full thing here. I know my art style doesn't jive terribly well with the Final Fantasy aesthetic, but oh well And thanks to everyone else for the welcomes, too! Looking forward to delving into the community a little more once I become a bit more familiar with the lore.

Rad stuff!! Your art is an absolute delight to behold. I totally dig more character-driven stuff, and there's plenty of that in this thread. Can't wait to see more from you.
-
Creepy demon things?? Cat people??? Muted color palettes??? Sharp lines??? LITERALLY EVERYTHING ABOUT YOUR ART IS A THING THAT I LOVE and all these character designs are rad, to boot. Wow, I'm so super pumped to see more from you.

OHHHH? - Where's the eyebrow raise emoticon... Anyways, Welcome~! You'll fit right in, too bad you have to tear your eyes out in wait for the actual game to come around the corner. And you're on Balmung~ Ehee, I hope to see you there! OH YEAH, I'm feelin it 8| But early start is Saturday, right? Or am I completely misinformed Also, thank you Foxberry! I've been perusing the many helpful links in one of the stickies on this forum, but more are always welcome. I have no idea what I'm doing 8D

Thank god y'all have a template cause I'm terrible at this crap, haha. MMORPG background I've played more MMOs than I care to admit, quite honestly! I think I've played WoW, Rift, EQ2, and GW2 the most. TOR is a runner up as far as time played. I was known primarily on WoW/Rift/TOR as Farorei and Nataske and Nathaniel Loving, GW2 as Fjori, and EQ2 as I can't even remember. Gotta throw FFXI out there too! I didn't get into the community much, but it was my very first MMO and I have a ton of really strong feelings about it. I didn't get to play very long because I was finishing up my senior year of high school when it came out and I did not have the time to dedicate to it, but I still listen to the soundtrack and pine for the glory days. RP experience I always feel a little awkward filling this section out! I've RPed a lot, roleplaying has been a hobby of mine since I was probably 10 or 11. Not sure what else to say beyond that, haha. I roleplay a lot and I have for a long time. I have a lot of roleplay experience. 8| Too much roleplay experience. Character ideas/info I could beat around the bush here, buuuuut ultimately I usually end up roleplaying strong-willed ladies with sharp wits and sharper jaws. That's probably what I'll end up playing here too, as evidenced by my icon. I've got two miqo'te ideas floating around in my head because their culture sounds absolutely killer from what little I've read, and a hyur and roegadyn lady that are both a little less concrete at the moment. How did you learn about the coalition? A friend! I don't know what his username is on here, though. Alas. What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? I'm not sure if any one of these really fits me too well. Heavy, I guess, in that I usually try to be IC and I put a ton (no, really, a ton) of thought into every miniscule little aspect of my characters. In terms of widescale involvement, I dunno, I guess I'm just gonna have to see how immersed I get into the setting. In the past I've run some huge storylines and RP guilds (even an RP website very similar to this one) but lately I've just stuck to smaller scale stuff among friends or new folks I meet who have similar interests. Real life has been exhausting lately so I may not even have energy for more than that. Don't let that deter you though, I'm always excited to talk about RP with likeminded folks!! As far as subject matter I'm pretty flexible, though I do love a good dark, heavy storyline. As a rule I'm pretty terrible to my characters. They have seen some shit. Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc) Nothing terribly interesting to report, honestly. Last month I moved out of state (to Athens, GA) for work so I'm sort of...between things right now. Um, let's see. Probably my most prominent hobbies include drawing, roleplaying, and cooking. I design and print shirts (and other apparel) for a living. I like cats. I like snakes. (I like turtles.) Uh, I really don't have anything of note to offer, honestly. If you wanna check out my art I've got an art blog, but there's not much FFXIV there yet and it's also hella NSFW.

Yeah, I was hurting for inspiration so I just went with her look since I wanted to play a pugilist. I'm sure she will look completely different by the time release rolls around.
-
I really love your style- it's so crisp and clean! And you pulled off such a difficult angle so well. Daaaang.
-
Haha, glad Omm could deliver the lols! And oh shoot, does she look boyish? She's not supposed to. Blaaahh. Back to the drawing board!

So this is only my second (or third?) post here, but unfortunately art is pretty much the only thing productive I have to offer this community at the moment as I am still reading up on my FFXIV lore and developing my character. So, uh, have some super sketchy sketches! I was sort of running dry on inspiration when I was trying to think up a character so I broke my own rule and made her based off of a pre-existing character (Ty Lee from Avatar: The Last Airbender). The similarities are mostly physical, though. And this isn't FFXIV, but it is FFXI! One of my friends' tarutaru character, Omm. He is kind of scary sometimes. Unfortunately that's all the FF art I have at the moment. Hopefully I'll have more to post soon.
