Thank you so much! With that in mind, I will think more about the deeper details of unique traits of her section of the Aldgoat Tribe and how they live. I'll try to take more cues from the game as they are playing and work on that as a side project; I still welcome aid with her character aside from that. I'm relieved at least that my draft of what I have for her character is not an absolute disaster. I'm also glad to have it confirmed that the canon tribes don't have a ton of info because I spent some time searching and getting frustrated that I could not find much. I'm glad that welcomes the creativity to fill in the blanks myself.

Thank you so much. I was really looking for some questions like these because I hadn't even thought about these things. Let me try to fathom some answers.

I hope it's not against the rules to give this a gentle bump to try to get some attention on it during the earlier hours while people are active... I posted this rather late at night when I figure a lot of people may have likely been asleep.

Your coloring is beautiful, but there is something I really love about your sketches that I just can't quite put my finger on. I just know I really like the sketch versions of the images.

When it comes to RP, being spot-on with lore and having an interesting, believable character come of that lore is as important to me as it is to so many role-players (perhaps to the point of being a little obsessive-compulsive, for me). The problem is that I get myself overwhelmed when trying to research the lore on my own time, especially given some of my time restraints. I find myself focusing too much on the information I may not need so much for my character, even though I want to learn it all. I get only X amount of time to spend gaming and try not to spend all of it getting absorbed in learning, but I don't want to just leap headfirst into RP here without a clue. I've been playing to level up and reading here and there on the side. Anyway, I would like to present my character concept here to seek the advice, critiques, and suggestions of the community, especially if someone can recommend interesting "RP goals" I might set for my character in particular. I have, at the very least, read into information about the character's race to get a feel for her background and personality, as a start. I love the Miqo'te lore. To make this post seem less like a wall of text, I'm sticking my character's info in spoiler tags. It's abit of a read, but I thank anyone who reads and takes the time to help me out in any way! I appreciate it more than I can express. For potential RP connections, I have an odd schedule of activity from midnight EST and onward, more freedom given on days off if I'm actually home.

Thank you so much, adding you all now as I log in-game for a bit. Always welcome to add more people if anyone sees this and wants to reply or add me. EDIT: Scratch that - I can only apparently try to add someone online.

I have a work schedule that leaves me getting online around midnight. I'm not fond of it, but can't do much about it. As a result, I find myself up until three or four in the morning. My timezone is EST. I'm a little shy about getting into RP when I first join a community, but I'm eager to start finding some RP in-game. If anyone else is heavily active to play or RP late at night or around a time that matches midnight in my timezone, I'd be glad to chat and plan some RP. My character (presently only one) is a Miqo'te Seeker of the Sun named N'arysha Eshir; if you have any questions about her for the sake of planning RP or are just curious, feel free to message me in-game or PM me. And thank you in advance for any responses!

Hello, everyone. I'm just returning to FFXIV after a brief hiatus; I liked the game just fine, but got busy. I hadn't even role-played at all here yet. I was slightly active months ago, but not enough for anyone to likely recognize my name (I'd be surprised, anyway). I'm returning now and totally ready to jump into RP. I'm a night owl, though, since I work late in the evening and get home around midnight (EST). Also, I had been on Balmung previously with my level 15 Conjurer, which I didn't realize, but I am now on Gilgamesh with my character remade as a Thaumaturge (because I aim to become a Black Mage). I formerly thought I might want to attempt a White Mage, but with little experience as a healer, I reconsidered. The following link is my directory profile ; it's presently listed under Balmung so I need to ask to have it moved to Gilgamesh, or I'll just repost it in Gilgamesh a little later: N'arysha Eshir As the name of the character might imply, I play a Miqo'te Seeker of the Sun named Arysha, a traveling mage who has all but left her tribe out of personal distaste for her sire. She actually more favors the Keeper of the Moon mindset of a solitary lifestyle. She's a bit proud and cold in nature, and her pride extends to her race as a whole above other races, mostly because she is still wholly unfamiliar with people other than Miqo'te. Inwardly, she's gentle and driven to preserve the world's well-being, and she struggles to resist helping people in need. She's just slow to warm to friendship. The easiest way to get a chance to get close to her would be to get her involved in discussing the properties of the world and magic; she's deeply fascinated by trying to understand how things work. Despite her somewhat xenophobic nature, characters of all races are welcome to become potential friends with Arysha. I'd love to find a free company down the road, especially one fitting for a magic-focused character, or a free company based around adventuring or studying the world. Thank you for reading my long ramble of an intro and I look forward to seeing you all in-game!

Your work without lines in your opening post looks very soft and pretty.

I'm bumping my own intro thread to announce that I have returned after disappearing for a few months; I've decided I'd like to actually give Final Fantasy another try and more attention. I enjoyed playing it, but got a little distracted with life. I'd love to meet friends for RP in-game, and thank you for reading this if you do.

I really love this idea. I still haven't even RPed, but I'm wondering if anyone with this guild might be around late at night (EST time), talking about midnight-ish, or if this FC would have room for someone who plays around such a schedule? I think my conjurer (white mage eventually) would really fit in well with something like this, and I also like that the guild's site is on Enjin.

UPDATE: I don't think I like henna. I got it in the mail about four days ago and tried using it. It feels like it's easy to mess up. I like the vibrant, dark pink color, though, but I think I am opting to go without arm tattoos/drawings. In other news, my boyfriend has not yet acquired a lab coat, but my mom is promising a friend of hers can spare one by Saturday or Sunday, and on one of those days, we're supposed to all gather in costume at a friend's house. I was hoping to go out for Halloween on the actual day of, but I am pretty sure I will have to work, bleck. Either way, maybe I'll have pictures after this weekend? I hope so. If nothing else, I have learned so much about cosplaying basics from the help here. I am pretty set on taking this same costume to Genericon in 2014 with a friend, and in the time I'll have until then I might think of ways to make improvements or explore other methods of doing things (like the arm tattoos). I may even look up different wigs and things like that. It's been really fun though. On a recent day off I put on my entire costume just to entertain myself and it's fun to wear, since it's fairly simple, comfortable clothing. The wig feels awkward because I'm not used to it. The contacts are especially fun. I can see why people love cosplaying and I regret having never looked into it sooner instead of just considering this for Halloween.

Your schedule is pretty much my most active RP hours, since I'm on by about midnight going on to about 3 AM (EST) due to work, so do feel free to add and/or randomly RP with N'arysha Eshir if you see her. I'm always on the lookout for more late-night players for playing the game or RP, either both or even just one of those.

I. Basic Info Characters: N'arysha Eshir (Arysha of the Aldgoats, sired by N'eshir Nunh) Primary character: N'arysha Eshir Linkshells: I'm actively seeking linkshells and perhaps even a free company in the near future, but my late-night play times make it a little difficult in terms of finding something active. Please feel free to contact me if you have a linkshell or free company that is still very active around midnight EST. Primary RP linkshell: None yet II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium to heavy Views on RP combat and injuries: I accept injuries, but please ask for consent in advance, especially if very serious injury will be involved. I very rarely initiate combat in RP, so I like to be asked before someone randomly attacks my character and that they have a decent reason for wanting to do so; obviously, don't god-mod. Views on IC romance: I completely, accept romance in RP, but I don't actively seek it or make it a focus of my RP. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I welcome the possibility of other people's characters being related to any of mine, as N'arysha is a Seeker of the Sun, which involves the possibility of having several siblings from the same nunh (N'eshir). As part of my RP, I may even play said nunh as an alt, but I plan for him to have lost his position as nunh sometime during Arysha's childhood. Feel free to contact me if you'd like to discuss family connections based on this; I really like the idea of meeting random siblings of the same miqo'te tribe. Going by canon lore, the letter N represents the Aldgoat tribe, as seen here. Views on lore: I acknowledge the setting in which I RP and believe in staying true to lore, though it can be a learn-as-I-go sort of process. Feel free to correct me during RP if I say/do something that does not make sense in light of the lore. I am pretty passionate, at the very least, about the lore for the Miqo'te and like to read about it. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I like the idea of linkshells, which seem to offer a lot of possibilities for RP beyond guilds (or free companies, as they're called). I don't mind if people prefer to use emotes more than /say because I acknowledge different writing/RP styles; some people prefer to primarily RP via dialogue while other people like to type a lot of long emotes and descriptions. I personally do a mix of both. I believe firmly in using chat functions other than /say to represent speaking privately or doing something like ERP, which should never be seen by other players. III. Other Info Country: United States Timezone: EST Contact info: I provide my Skype name with people who become close RP connections, as I don't like to give it too freely, but you are welcome to PM me here at will to ask any questions. [glow=blue]~Special announcements can be found in the posts below~[/glow] I'm a late-night gamer, seen online starting around midnight up to three or four in the morning, and I'm actively seeking friends active during these times for both playing the game and RP. I'm a little shy and not likely to take initiative in contacting someone until I've talked to them at least once, so don't hesitate to contact me, ever. If I'm online, then I'm happy to talk and if I happen to be busy, then I'll just let you know. A private message will never upset me, even if I'm doing something already. I may consider my RP involving having Arysha join a new tribe if I find enough late-night miqo'te players for such RP, but I otherwise planned for her to be a traveling mage seeking to do her part to help out in the world and perfect her studies. I'm still fleshing her character out a lot. I mostly just want casual RP at the moment and welcome the possibility of things developing into long-term plots. I have interest in her taking a liking to the Keepers of the Moon and their way of living a more solitary life.

It was awesome to finally get to speak with a few people in-game tonight. So far everyone in this community has been incredibly friendly and helpful, which is refreshing in light of my most recent RP experiences, and I'm enjoying the game a lot, too. Really looking forward to all the RP that happens, hopefully starting very soon over the next few days.
