Personally I'm with Magellan, whatever time someone officially walks up to me during RP or when I start rping is what time I try to keep it throughout. And sometimes I don't even mention it until after I've consulted who I'm rping with at the time. I find the cycles too short to really stick by them when they change, after all a five minute conversation wouldn't span two days like it sometimes can with the in game time changes. As for the weather I'm a bit iffy on that one, I like referencing it personally but it's just as sporadic as the time sometimes.

At the moment I haven't been on Gilgamesh much because I had the exact same problem you're having but I wish I'd used the forums sooner because as soon as I asked for roleplay on here there were plenty of people willing! That aside, I do have characters on Gilgamesh and depending on what platform you're on I'd always be willing to jump on and play with you, currently my main on that server is X'Nala Yanni, a Seeker Gladiator who's a bit on the quiet stoic side. She wouldn't really know what she was doing at all until it came back to bite her and I can see her being pretty upset about the whole thing. So in other words, I'd looooooove to do something with you on this.

@C'kayah Tia: The common ground would be comforting for Siha, it'd be interesting to see if she'd actualy talk about it with someone who's in the same situation though she hasn't been on her extended pilgrimage more than a few weeks at this point. I try to be on as much as I can during the week and weekends, Tuesdays and Wednesdays I can be on at any time because those are my days off, all other days of the week and weekend I'm usually on around oh...I'd say about 8 pm to 12 am much like yourself. I'm in the Central US timezone though. @Karaan: Thank you! And sure, I'd love to try and catch you on so we could roleplay sometime and maybe talk plots. I'll try to add the both of you when I can!

So I'm looking for some IC friends, enemies or just any kind of contacts for my character Siha Xinkei, or even a story arc that I can fit her into! A little bit about her is that she's a Keeper Miqo'te girl who is on a 'pilgrimage' at the behest of her clan elders and family. The truth of it is that her mother sent her off expecting her to die on said pilgrimage due to her being entirely too clumsy for her own good, disastrously erratic with her aether usage, and just overall not a good hunter in the least. Siha is only vaguely aware of this fact, and has it buried very deep, she's naturally optimistic and childishly full of wonder and energy. There is one detail about her that I'm not sure how well it will go over ICly, she is a budding seer but her visions aren't clear, giving her only flashes of POSSIBLE futures so she never really knows if what she sees will happen and sometimes she doesn't even know what she's seen. Her seer abilities will be restricted to only happening with the consent of those I'm playing with and will not even come up unless it's relevant. Aka she doesn't run around telling everyone she meets that she has weird visions, and they're usually not steady enough that she's given them too much thought at his point. There's a more detailed description in her Wiki entry which is linked in my signature, just click her name, her history isn't fully detailed out yet but any questions you have just ask away! I look forward to playing with anyone, even if it's just random one shot meetings or getting involved in someone's arc.

I can understand where you're coming from when it comes to the descriptiveness of emotes, I myself can't type extremely fast and often find myself having to shorten down my emotes or being left in the dust. MOST of the characters I played before I came to ARR were broody, in fact, almost all of them and there was one thing I hated about playing them. With a quiet broody character, unfortunately, more emotive description is necessary unless you want to keep repeating your short phrases (emotes) over and over again. Now as a player of broody characters before I understand that and don't mind either waiting or seeing repeats but my personal experience with broody characters is that unless they're sarcastic and somewhat outspoken their little body languages are important. A simple quirking of a brow or tick in their cheek is all they have to communicate unless they're a yeller and prone to outbursts so those little emotes are important if you want people to know what's going on with the scene in your head. If you don't give them that information they may have no idea that your character is getting angry or that they're even interested in what's going on in the conversation or scene. Now I could be a complete oddball here and the opposite of everyone but this is just my personal experience, broody characters are great fun but they take a little more effort to play sometimes, to add a some ease you can always give your character a temper or something to that effect.

I've been to an event like this before in a different MMO (WoW) and I have to say that I absolutely loved it. The thing was chaos because it was in the main capital of the faction it was taking place in but I had no problem with that, in fact it was kind of authentic because of it! The way that it went down was that there was a Guild that did what your FC seems to do except they sponsored a traveling Bazaar, it worked the same ICly and OOCly, the characters would contact the company expressing their interest in having a stall there. Pay a fee for said stall. Then have two people man it and call out to passerby's advertising their wares and do business or what have you as it happened. Of course I think everyone jumped on it because they were selling things at prices that you just couldn't get anywhere else, for any WoW people they were selling ALL Glyphs for only 30 gold a piece, so I was all over that one. Anyways. I got off track. I think it'd be a wonderful idea and though I don't have a crafter I'd certain be an attendee and buyer just for the fun of it all! One of my characters is sort of a wide eyed wanderer at the moment so this would be right up her ally when it comes to attending. If you're worried about clutter of chat...hmm, you could always have the advertising and chit chat in the open but the actual business dealings be done over /tell? I'd suggest just having a temporary LS but I'm not sure everyone would fit, if they would though that'd be neat!

So I've been wanting to make a character on Balmung but as soon as I thought of doing so it seems like all the slots are full. Is this normal and if so when does the server usually cycle back open?

Yay! I'm happy to hear you'd like to put up with me, lol. My ideas with my current characters are kind of fluid, they have personalities but not really fully fleshed out histories. I need to sit and think about them I suppose but having an open history helps somewhat when it comes to building a story with others. :3

I know, I'm not really new to roleplay per say but I am compared to a lot of vets and I don't know the entirety of the lore just yet. Thanks for all the tips! I wish I could make a Conjurer and start in that area but unfortunately not, I'm not sure I'd be able to make it to 15 to get there before I had to head off to bed. If I started now maybe but I'm letting my roommate use my console, curse not being able to just use one license for PC and Playstation! If I do make it on in that area though I might see if I can find you and make a nuisance of myself. ;D

Haha that's kind of awesome because I've definitely seen you around before but we've never interacted! I don't have anything against the Korkron players at all, all of them were just being IC, I just personally didn't care for the stagnant state everyone was stuck in. And like you said now no one seems to know what time frame things are in so unless you're friends with everyone (I'm kind of shy so I'm not ) you can't really rp in the open unless you just don't mention current affairs or anything. I haven't started my Conjurer yet but I'll definitely look into that since I whole heartedly plan to soon. I'm always kind of skittish about roleplaying out actual healing because everyone has a different take so I usually just ask what they're comfortable with and such. Some people don't want their wounds completely healed just like magic sometime ya know? Ruins the mood. I've actually been considering moving to Balmung now that I see it's rather more populated but I'm terrified of my newbishness being scoffed at.

RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium to Heavy is my preference but that's not to say that I don't break out and act silly, it's just usually not public and definitely not somewhere I'm going to disturb other rpers. I'm actively silly and OOC in tells though, since they're private. Views on RP combat and injuries: I'm perfectly fine with having roleplay combat and injuries, want to stab one of my characters? Ambush them maybe? SURE. I enjoy rolling with the spice of things but on the flip side I am not ok with you insta killing or maiming/irreversibly crippling my characters without my consent. If it's going to be death or an injury that will never go away (besides it just being a scar) the please do ask my permission since that's a whole different ball game to me. Otherwise it's pretty much give and take, if your character is supposed to be uber strong or skilled just pop me a tell giving me that bit of info and I'll take my hits accordingly! Views on IC romance: I love IC romance so long as it's not forced in any way, I like to watch things develop. The one thing I don't do is pre-ship because I can't always guarentee that my character will feel the way that I think they will feel or that someone won't come along during our character journey and completely bond with them. However if my character is mated to another (married, engaged, betrothed) I can say they're not going anywhere but simple courting and even dating all depends on how things play out ICly. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): If there's one thing I love it's having family ties, or even old friends show up during my characters story. I absolutely don't mind people making family or friends for any of my characters just so long as you contact me and we can chat about what would and wouldn't fit in with my characters history, etc. Views on lore: Lore is good, I prefer to stick to lore when it's solid fact but I am a little more flexible than most would be. If it's random roleplay then I'll always go with the lore but if we have a story that needs a little bending of lore then I'm ok with that as well! Well to be fair when people usually random roleplay it's not usually for duels but mostly, lately, it's to be all 'rawr I'm a Korkron be scared of me' which is all well and good but it's gotten boring to see the same thing day after day and I'm not sure when the stories will move on since I'm not sure when the new expansion or at least next storyline will hit. For me it just wasn't enough variety since it was mostly either one character ICly bullying another or fights, which it was all appropriate and such so I'm certainly not dogging them but it's just not my cup of tea atm. And I completely agree on the whole not thinking logically when fighting in a city, I mean the current atmosphere is that Garrosh was/is holding a tight leash on Org and exterminating the Darkspear but you have people running around IN ORGRIMAR screaming about being a rebel and how much Garrosh and the Kor'kron can suck it without any consequences. That doesn't generally go over well with the populace IC or OOC. And I really like the options, because on one hand I'd LOVE to play a Conjurer for the RP side of things but I'm more keen on Melee classes like the Lancer or Gladiator when it comes to OOC gameplay so that's a feature I know I'll love!
