This tangent leads me to the question... What does it really matter who is behind the keys? If it's a female character, and we are roleplaying, my character is going to treat them as female (including potentially flirting with them). That's why it's roleplaying. In my experience, if your actions are driven according to the person behind the keyboard rather than the character... it's generally going to lead to drama and cause nothing but problems. I've been bitten by this a few times in the past, so I've simply come to the conclusion that it just doesn't matter who is behind the keys. Grandma or Grandpa, Fat Albert or Pauley Perrette; IC is IC, and OOC is OOC.

If you're ever interested in reading a novel with some great ways to view the craft of magic, I recommend reading the Dresden series. Most specifically, Dead Beat if you like the necromancy side of things. There was a great description of how to "gather" the energy of death - by seeing all the death around us on the small scale. When you think about it, there are aspects of death all around us - skin cells, insects, small animals, plants, etc. Magic always seems to be made too simple by most folks... I like it a bit more when using magic takes something out of you. Forcing the energies around you to bend to your will should never be an trivial thing.

Ars (A guild made up of ArsTechnica.com folks) is leaning towards Garland. ToG has made no decisions yet, but they're leaning towards a unified Aussy server.

I'd hope that the cat girls would be rare, but given SE's own perpetuation of that theme, I don't see it happening, sadly. I'll agree with those who are going with some of the big cats as inspiration - it's easy to see how a puma or lion based Miqo'te could be a very formidable character. Personally, I'm still unsure of what I want to play. I'm really leaning either towards a Sun Seeker Miqo'te or a Sea Wolf Roegadyn. The Miqo'te appeals to my "good looking" senses, while the Roegadyn appeals to the ideal of creating a "gentle giant". We'll just have to see which I "feel" more when Open Beta arrives.
