But I don't want to fail at performing my job/role unless it is a really good line that has to be stated. Views on IC romance: I guess, as long as it stays in character and most importantly fun for both parties. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): YES! Do I need to elaborate? Views on lore: Essential. Lore grounds your character in the world and also gives you inspiration to draw speech and mannerisms from. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I always denote out of character text with brackets like: [Oh dude, I love beer too.] [*] III. I hope Mippa got you all situated with the LS's in game! If not please feel free to tap my character on the shoulder through a tell and I will help you get where you need to go. As far as guild channels the Wayward Star's LS's work slightly different than Driftwood Coast. We have an OOC channel for members and close friends/outside character, an IC Linkshell that we use as a 'walkie-talkie' type of communication (Like you see between the Scions of the Seventh Dawn in the Stoyline quests), and our FC chat which is ooc just for the Wayward Star members which we use for such FC only topics as event planning, and general FC chit chat. Etc etc.... My guess is each FC will have their own method to the madness :lol:. P.S. I'll look for you tonight regardless just to say hello!

Hello and WELCOME to the community. I am always excited to see newcomers pop up on here with the Gilgamesh tag under their name! I myself started my RP experience on forums and chat rooms geez.... about 15 years ago! *feels old* So I can assure you the transition is pretty easy once you get your sea legs! I love the initial concept of your character. I also have a Hyur scholar/summoner that is semi retired that was so much fun to RP. Like you she speaks before her mind has time to compute fully the impact of her words and she is EXTREMELY logical. Now, I am leaning towards the more happy go lucky addictive bottle of sunshine Pugilist known as N'yxa Phen. So feel free to add her as a friend in game! I will point you in the direction of any RPC Linkshells that could be helpful and/or get you socialized on the server! I'm also sure that my FC would love to interact with your character. Being pirates we are always interested in Maritime battle tactics :thumbsup:.

Well hello hello! I am always excited to see new faces pop in! The back story to your character seems very interesting and I don't see a problem with it at all having two different races for parents. Also, I'm sure you will be able to find plenty of people around who will help you hammer out the finer details of your character! I don't think you will have a difficult time getting into the groove of your character because this game practically BEGS you to RP with its the rich lore and notable characters. There are points to pull from every avenue I absolutely love it! I also agree with Mr. Hat that you should check out the Linkshell section (make sure you click "Gilgamesh" at the top of the page) and peruse the many different RP FC's that we have here. We have merchants, PIRATES, secret societies, magical orders, social types, and more! But. ... If you have strong tires to Limsa AND your character is a bit of a trickster be sure to check out the Pirates of the Wayward Star at the very least I have a feeling you would fit right in with our cast of crazy characters! Oh Diary you will not believe the day that Ronald and I’ve had! First Master had me meet up with these very nice people who call themselves the Scions of the Seventh Dawn! And their leader Mini...something (I’m terrible at names) is so beautiful! I love her pants too! I wonder where I could get me a pair like her’s. Of course mine would be a nice shade of yellow to match the Twin Addler’s banner. Of which I am a member now Diary! But more on that later. Anyway, master sent me to work with the Scions on the ongoing ‘Primal’ issue. And can I tell you something in confidence Diary? As much as I respect the Scions they really need to figure out a better way of organizing their missions! They had me going from all the way from Vesper Bay to Camp Drybone back to Vesper Bay BACK to Camp Drybone…. Only to be captured by Amalj’aa! Then we were taken to some summoning field that looked like is was on fire but there were no flames! Everything was BRIGHT RED! The sun even began to look strange as this black circle filed the center. It all was quite scary for me! I don’t know what I would have done if Ronald was there!? He would have burned to a crisp! Suddenly, all of the Amalj’aa started to chant. At first I didn’t understand the words they were saying. You know, because I was KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS by some stupid large evil meanie. But this is where it gets really interesting Diary! They were chanting to none other than the Primal IFIRIT! At that very moment. When the whole world started to calm around me I knew I had learned the lesson that Master was trying to instill in me from the beginning. (For the rest of this imagine dramatic suspenseful music in the background okay Diary?) I began focusing on my target. his weak points and the precise areas I should concentrate my blows. As the mighty beast fell from his summoned position in the sky my tail tensed with anticipation. The mighty foe was before me - soon would he realize the fury of my wrath. I took a few steps towards him and he loudly laughed at my miniscule size in comparison to his hulking … hulk of a body. Illuminating with fire as bright as a thousand suns! As he and I, to mighty warriors locked in a power stare, evaluated our competition… the DUMBEST THING HAPPENED! Some premature annihilation type Marauder of a Roegadyn charged in! Without any grace. Just swinging his axe any which way thinking he could get the job done by pounding away as hard as he could without much style! I mean he didn’t even think to attack from behind because it is a better strategic position!? It makes it easier to slide in and attack the prime location because they never see you coming! GAH! So unprofessional! At least he kept the giant horned beast’s attention long enough for my swift hands and feet to get a majority of the job done. And then… he died. Well… disappeared. I mean. Dematerialized. No that’s not right. He was just NOT THERE anymore. And there I was in a silent circle of fire. I managed to find my way back to Drybone where I had the opportunity to catch up with another Scion of the Seventh Dawn but I want to go again! I wonder if there is a task force for fighting off the Primals as they are summoned. Because I know I would totally be first in line to sign up! *There are a few lines of blank space* I wonder how Ronald would feel about training to be my Primal Fighter Sidekick….

I love the community here and it is growing every day. We are very active with fabulous turn outs to our events, plenty of open world RP, a wide variety of themed FC's, and active OOC linkshells for help/fun/whatever! And I 100% understand the altoholic side. This game is so beautiful and each race has their own traits that are perfect for different RP personalities. How can you NOT have an alt or two?? 8-)

Why hello there Ben! Welcome to the community! It is always great to see our family growing! To touch base on which server you should roll your future adventurer on it really depends on what you are looking for. The two to choose from are the all mighty Gilgamesh (okay I may be biased) and Balmung. Each have their own unique feel and community. Both have established OOC linkshells for you to use for help, socializing, and just plain silliness after a long day of real life. Both servers also have a diversified set of Free Companies and IC linkshells that you could join to enrich your RP experience! Just to give an example - from the Gilgamesh standpoint we have merchants, pirates, secret societies, academics, and more. I can't speak much for Balmung since I have not had much exposure (aka none) with their RP community. The only real difference is the size of the community on either server. Balmung being a Legacy server tends to have a greater number of players in their RP community. Gilgamesh's community, though not as large as Balmung, is quite active and our RP events have wonderful turnouts, a ton of world RP, and many of us love to have you just plop on down next to us and join in the fun! So in short! If it is possible make a character on both servers and see which community you lean towards. I chose Gilgamesh because I prefer to be part of something that is growing and my character has a chance to be a large part of the overall whole. But that's me If you do decide to join with us Gilgameshians let me know! I'll get you to the right OOC channels!

I would love to show up on N'yxa for this event! She tends to get shy around large groups but I think being around only women it would help bring her out of her shell and meet new people! Girl talk seems to do that. I will definitely try to make it tomorrow!
