  1. much like Fates, Im a long time WoD player/GM - Ive played pretty much every venue they've come out with at least once - and I also agree..old world is far superior in most regards, except for Changeling. The Lost is everything the Dreaming should have been from the get go. Old world Mage, Hunter and Werewolf, were my venues of choice, with a little Mummy and some Gypsies thrown in there for good measure! The new world stuff, in my opinion are just lacking..except Changeling. Love me some Lost. I ran a Hunter game that lasted 4 years..good times! Fates - what's your IRC chat? I've done "javachat" based online WoD games long long ago..
  2. I have no idea what this has to do with Ingress? o.0
  3. The huntress inhaled at the rise of elemental magic. It too had a scent, a distinctness unlike anything else and how people wielded it, was also distinct. It gave each person a very unique signature of magical smells. She'd at some point managed to stretch out again, a very feline gesture, with her chin propped in a hand and her tail curling around her in a lazy sort of manner. "Oh surprises, how exciting!" Her tone wasn't enthusiastic so much as playful. As the twilight faded and night crept in, her energy levels seemed to be rising as fast as his were depleting. Of course, she hadn't spent the day boxing... With mild curiosity, she watched the wounds mend, ears swiveling every so often. "How long have you been a healer?" The words clearly directed at the elezen woman.
  4. The sun. Ah, the sun - that treacherous, too bright, too hot ball of annoyance in the sky. Did she have a problem with the sun? She had to think about that for a moment....it was a long moment. "I do enjoy beaches, however, given my nature I would not be at my best during the brightest hours of the day. I'm nocturnal, Red. Keeper of the Moon. The between times..sunset, sunrise..those are alright times but I work best in the dark of night. I -can- stay awake during the day, when necessary..I just don't like it". She shrugged lightly. Nature being what it was and times being what they were, her sleep patterns were terribly disrupted already.
  5. It is data heavy yes - I didn't think of that - good warning even if it did come from a *cough*brainwashed*cough* green agent. Teasing aside, seriously - it's a terribly fun addiction. My hubs and I just started playing in our area and have managed to suck in 5 (so far) of our friends and family thus far...it's also a great excuse to get out and move and see local points of interest in your community (museums, artwork, parks, historical sites) that have been tagged with "portals".
  6. Seda had caught the offered flute as it sailed leisurely her way, emitting a faint chuckle as she examined it - half an eye on the daydreaming highlander. The ocean air, the mixtures of individual smells around her, sweat and now drying blood; these had been filtered long enough now that they were in the back of her senses. It was easy to pick out the newest one, being far different from the others. Nervousness mixed with something very clean. Golden eyes pulled from the pair she'd been chatting with to come to rest on the approaching Elezen woman. A polite nod was given to her as Fen decided he had some other place to be and wandered off. The sound of Baer coming out of his state of thinking brought her back and she listened to him reply to her earlier question. Another nod then, the faintest grin exposing elongated canines. "Well then, I do believe I'm interested in filling that vacancy - I don't have size on my side, but I'm quick enough in body and mind. This will be an interesting endeavor". The subtle tone carried along in the undercurrent of his voice softened those lion like golds for a moment. "After a few days rest, of course". She offered a polite verbal greeting to the small elezen woman when she was close enough to not have to call out, "Evening".
  7. If you haven't heard of it yet; and you have an Android phone with interwebs..check out Ingress in the Google Play store. The gist of it - aliens have secretly invaded. Mankind has fallen into two factions. The Enlightened who seek to use the alien tech, et al to make humans "better" and the Resistance, who obviously, want to keep mankind safe from alien mind control. You choose a side and then it's a great big world wide mobile game of capture the flag meets competitive Foursquare. I will warn you now, it's addicting. Lots of fun though - Do eeeeet! PS: Viva la Resistance!
  8. Welcome to the community!!
  9. Best of luck in your endeavor!!
  10. I imagine that while the Red Cross has their heart in the right place, most people find this idea to be absurd. Most civilized countries have laws regarding war crimes that are very specific and quite frankly - whomever thought this up has no concept of reality. Video games, while violent and often depicting death, do not result in the real world equivalent of dead people. Without an -actual- crime, I don't see how anyone could be held accountable for war crimes in this manner. Not to mention that a vast majority of first person shooters are played by teenagers and young adults - to think that anyone would seriously consider incarcerating hundreds of thousands of children because they play video games blows my mind. It sounds to me more like some guy's personal vendetta against gamers.
  11. ((I think this idea is really very interesting!))

  13. Elisan considered her reply as she sipped the remains of the contents of her cup, "The culture of magic among the people where I am from is a heavy one. It is fostered from a very young age and when I developed an affinity for certain things, I was sent to those who could teach me best until it was..decided..that I should find my own way". Really, it was the most polite way to say that she was in essence, tossed out on her rump. She smiled gently at him and shrugged again. "I've started learning under the thaumaturges here now".
  14. I would like to extend an invitation to all of you wonderful people who may be interested ...my middle son is in his 2nd year of Cub Scouts now and it's Popcorn Time! 15. ^^ this. A hundred times over, this. Theodric hit the name on the head. Quantity does not equal Quality. Great RP takes not only time but effort to find. Sometimes, you have to be the one to reach out and make the connections, even if it bends your character's "personality" to do so (mostly in the cases of extremely shy/introverted character concepts). Otherwise, you're going to be sitting around not enjoying yourself and no one wants to play a game they don't enjoy!
  16. Eli smiled to the departing miqo'te and gave her a wave. "Travel safely. I'm sure our paths will cross again". She returned her attention to Fen to see if he were also leaving the small group. If he was, she would offer him the same before returning her attention to Aartur and Baer, who'd gone strangely quiet. Letting him have whatever daydream he was wrapped up in, she focused on Aartur. "How long have you been studying magic?"
  17. She shook her head, a faintly amused smile. "No, I'd meant Red here - the art of hand to hand combat...with the bow, I am a formidable force. However recently I've found myself in situations where distance is not my friend. I can hold my own but I lack the grace and technique to say I'm any good at it". She gestured to the large red haired highlander sitting next to her.
  18. She let out a chuckle, rolling her eyes at Baer. "I bet you don't.." A little nod of her head toward the flutist. "Ahh, yes..the archer. I remember you". Leaning against the boxes now, rather than perched atop them, Seda noted the elezen's approach and offered a polite wave as she leaned toward the highlander to comment, "You ever teach anyone your art?"
  19. Elisan watched the exchange thoughtfully before the midlander's words drew her back to the here and now - ruby eyes slightly tired and she smiled faintly. "The Spinner brings out what messages are necessary for the seeker to hear. I think perhaps there was a deeper message but it's for her to acknowledge..or not. Everyone is different. Some take the words to heart and others walk away with a chuckle and a nod, never really trying to understand". Her heard turned to Aartur as he offered her payment and she gently slid it back toward him. "Keep your gil this day. I make enough that a few readings at a lone table won't break me". Her attention shifted briefly to Baer to see what he was up to before she addressed the midlander again, "And you..are you seeking something?"
  20. She took the cards back and did as she had before, split them randomly in the middle and placed what was on the bottom, on the top; before she drew three cards for the skittish female. These three cards were laid in order, face up on the table between them. She studied the cards for a good length of time - those who may have been watching her might have noticed a strange far away look in her eyes - seeing but not seeing. "What was - the Oak Men..their presence indicates a strength in the past, a depth that you may have lost sight of. In the past, you have looked upon the world through eyes filled with predisposed ideas - personal filters. The Oak Men ask you, are you seeing things as they are or as what you project upon them?" She tipped her head a bit, glancing up to watch Kieaira a moment before continuing. "What is - The Singer of Intuition. The song sung by the Singer carries all of the information that there is - a great record of all that was, is and will be. This song is in our blood, our bones - we only have to learn how to hear it. The Singer's words to you are simple. Trust yourself. Learn to accept your own inner calling and intuition but you must be willing to look deep inside of your own heart and mind for the answers you seek. What may be -Epona's Wild Daughter, Dorcha". Elisan paused briefly before she spoke again, almost sing song in her recital of words. "In the bleakest part of the night, Dorcha comes, wearing her crown of stars. She kneels on the ancient owl, bearer of the hidden wisdom of the night, and facing the past with a clear, unflinching gaze, she holds us. We are immobile, inwardly focused by her comforting yet implacable hands. She asks riddles that seem impossible to answer at first - and yet she will not let us go until we find the solutions within ourselves. Dorcha takes us through the darkness - the shadow part of ourselves and into healing and growth". The witch looked up at Kie and held her gaze, "You cannot move forward until you have faced something buried within you that is holding you back. You will not walk alone - there will be help from unexpected places. You must be ready to face things about yourself that are not as you wish them to be, before enlightenment can transform you into what you are destined to become". She blinked slowly, shaking off the fog before she gathered the cards carefully and returned them to the deck while Kie absorbed the words.
  21. The albino elezen smiled at Aartur and shrugged again. "There is no average gain - some have paid me a great deal and many have paid me nothing at all. People do not like it when they don't hear what either they expect, nor what they want to hear. I do not deal in dreams and wishes -as I said. I leave that to others." Ruby gaze was pulled from Aartur to Baer and she chuckled at his rapt attention, in a gentle way, as opposed to anything condescending. A nod to the commentary at the table next to theirs, addressing the midlander's statement as she offered the cards to Kie to shuffle. "It is often wise to seek guidance when one is uncertain about the future, yes".
  22. Welcome to the game! That's a mighty fine list you have there - I'm quite familiar with a large number of them, which may date me a bit...or I just have a thing for albatrosses. Jump in, have some fun! You know you want to!
  23. Welcome to the game and community! Feel free to get your feet wet with some RP here in the forums!
  24. "Tackle me?" Seda let out a laugh before she sat up from her languid stretch across the top of the crates. "You dislike the unpredictability of someone above you hm?" She rolled with the ease and grace that came from a lifetime of practice, dropping to the ground next to him. "Is this better?" A slow blink of those golden eyes as she scanned the immediate area almost absently before looking back to where he sat and then to the flute player who'd addressed them. A polite nod at his recognition of their earlier encounter, "you play well - a shame most of the dockworkers likely wouldn't appreciate the softer sounds as opposed to a rowdy bar song".
  25. A mild smile, tipping a shoulder noncommittally, "I have seen the Spinner's threads since I was a child. Think of me as a messenger, I suppose. I simply pass each card's message on to the seeker". In that moment, Elisan remembered there was a plate of food sitting there and so helped herself to some more cheese and fruit before settling back to see what the others had been doing. She caught Kieaira's curious glance briefly and gave her a smile. "anyone else?"
