-Darkness- Leanne slowly opens her eyes and glances around the strange unknown room. Scanning her surroundings with squinting eyes, she could see nothing but darkness. She took a trembling breathe and began to walk forward through nothingness, until after what seemed like an eternity, she reached a pair of large metal doors. Leanne studied the doors and nervously traced her fingers along the strange arcanic symbols engraved onto it. Suddenly, feeling an eerie presence behind her, she jerked her hand away and twirled around but found nothing. Every passing second her uneasiness grew stronger and more defined. She clutched her shirt above her chest and trembles, her ears perking up in full alert. A breeze suddenly flew by seemingly out of nowhere, and all the hairs on her body stood upright. A putrid stench creeped through the dark room. A smell that could only be described as various rotting aliments. Leanne covered her nose with her hands as a faint light began emanating from the cracks between the metal doors. Something or someone was calling her. Despite the growing fear and her mind screaming in disagreement, she placed both her palms flat on the door and slowly pushed forward. A flash of bright light erupted from the now opened doors. Taking a step forward, Leanne shielded her eyes. It took everything from her to keep herself from kneeling over and puking. The stench was fully distinguishable now, and whatever was releasing it was in that very room she just entered. Trying to hold her breathe as much as possible, Leanne slowly removed her hands from her face and opened her eyes. Blinking rapidly, her eyes adjusting to the bright lighting, what lied in the middle of the room was a sight that no one should ever witness. The mangled rotting corpses of Leanne's mother and sister lied sprawled across the bloodied floor. The bodies slowly attempted to stand but clumsily tumbled back down. The sound of bones breaking and the squishing of miscellaneous pieced of meat falling off echoed through the room. The corpses stared at Leanne with black eye sockets, their faces slowly melting away. Leanne let out a horrified scream as she stumbled backwards out of the room. Tripping she fell onto her behind in the previously black room. Feeling wetness underneath her, she glanced down at the floor now covered in blood. She screamed again and stood up panicking. She frantically scanned the room, everything was now drenched in blood. The floor, walls and ceiling dripped with dark blood and various meats of different sizes. The blood pooling at her feet slowly began to rise at her ankles and Leanne's fear rose to it's peak. She began to bang on the walls screaming for help. Tears ran down her face as her screams died down to choked whimpers. She struggled to move as the blood and guts reached her stomach. She slowly began to lose hope of ever escaping this hell hole. Fated to die and slowly rot like her mother and sister. What was this place and how did she get here? As her head slowly got submerged in the rising blood, Leanne reached her right hand up towards the ceiling. A final, futile act, praying and hoping someone would save her from this horrible death...but no one came...and soon...she disappeared under the flood of blood...and darkness consumed her mind... -A Fated Meeting- Leanne's eyes flutter open, a soft groan escapes her lips. She blinks a few times to clear her blurry eyesight. She glanced around the unfamiliar room confused. The walls were soft beige in color with red borders. An Immortal Flames flag hung loosely under a wall mounted clock. The time read 18:32. Leanne pursed her lips, her thoughts began to race. Where was she? How did she get here? How long was she sleep? Who was she...? Leanne's ears perked up at her sudden panic. She doesn't remember anything. Family? Friends? Would anyone even be looking for her? Her eyes began to well up with tears as the door to the room opened and a tall blonde Hyur walked in with a plate of food. He slowly closed the door behind him and turned towards Leanne, who's eyes had gone wide in fear, and smiled softly. "I see you are awake. How are you feeling, miss?" He placed the plate on a night stand near the bed and sat on a chair in front of her. Leanne squirmed and stuttered, speaking softly. "I-I'm fine...sore I guess..." She glanced around the room anxiously avoiding the stranger's kind gaze. "W-where am I...?" The man continued to smile. "You are in my dorm room in Ul'dah Garden. You're in Ul'dah right now." Leanne frowned and laced her fingers together nervously. She was in a man's room. A stranger's room no less. She's not suppose to be here. How did this happen? Leanne opened her mouth and paused before speaking up. "H-how...did I get here...?" The man tilted his head taking notice of her anxiety and nervousness. "I found you passed out near the gate of the Sultana not far from here. You were beat pretty bad and seemed delusional so I brought you here and bandaged you up." He paused, giving her a concerned look. "You've been asleep for three days since I found you. Are you...sure you're alright, miss? May I ask your name?" Leanne stiffened and bit her bottom lip. She searched her thoughts as much as she could. Praying, hoping to find a name...anything really. The Hyur noticed her internal struggle and lifted up his hand in protest. "No, it's alright if you don't remember..." He leaned forward to place a hand on her shoulder but Leanne spoke up before he could move. "...Leanne...Starlight..." She timidly glanced up at the man for the first time. He looked a little older than her. He had gentle blueish green eyes, slick blonde hair which was combed back, and also had a hint of facial hair. The Hyur noticed she was examining him and smiled gently, making Leanne shift her gaze downward embarrassed, her cheeks turning pink. He leaned towards the nightstand and grabbed the plate before handing it to Leanne. "I figured you might be hungry...it's not much but I bought you a loaf of rolanberry bread." Leanne cautiously took the plate and stared at the bread. It was golden in color with a hint of pink on the inside. The smell was intoxicating. The man chuckled and spoke up teasingly. "Don't worry. I didn't poison it." Leanne gave a small smile and nibbled at the bread, her ears perking up happily. "It's...good. Really good..." The man just chuckled. "Well that's good to hear! I didn't know what you might like so I just asked the Culinarian at the cafeteria what was most popular." Leanne nodded and finished her bread, stifling a yawn. She glanced back at the Hyur and tilted her head to the side. "You...saved me...why?" He shifted in his seat, a look of surprise clear on his face. "Well...you looked like you needed help. I couldn't just leave you in the street..." Leanne frowned and felt ashamed for asking. "S-sorry...what's...your name...?" He smiled at her. "Caen. Caen Macleod." Leanne's brows furrowed as she nodded. "Is something wrong?" Caen looked concerned once more and leaned forward. Leanne shuffled back slightly and shook her head. "I-I'm okay...just tired...and my head hurts..." She lowered her gaze, her ears flattening. Caen's lips formed a straight line as he leaned back in his chair. "You should get some more sleep then...I'll be back to check up on you later." Leanne nodded and lied down on the bed pulling the blankets up to her nose. She slowly closed her eyes and began to drift as Caen slowly stood up and whispered under his breathe. "Don't worry...I'll keep you safe..." The last thing she heard was the door closing softly behind him before she was pulled back into the darkness. -Do you Want to Remember?- Leanne woke up startled; eyes wide, cold sweat running down the sides of her face, intense trembling. She quickly shoo her head and covered her face with her hands, her mind foggy. There was a quick knock before the door slowly opened. Leanne's head snapped up towards the door as Caen walked in smiling. He frowned as he saw her terrified expression. He took a step forward. "Leanne? Is everything alright?" Leanne lowered her gaze, a slight blush forming on her cheeks. "O-oh, yes...just a bad dream is all..." Caen smiled looking relived. "I see...do you...want to go for a walk?" Leanne glanced up and nodded. She slowly crawled out of the bed and Caen led her out of his dorm room, through the halls of Ul'dah Garden and out the main entrance leading to Emerald Avenue. As they wandered through the busy streets, Leanne nervously glanced at all the people talking and laughing. Her ears twitched at every stranger who rushed passed them, her eyes lowering to the ground. Caen noticed her nervous behavior and gently grabbed her arm, pulling her towards the Quicksand. "E-eh?! W-where are we going?" Leanne looked around the half empty tavern nervously. Caen smiled at her and motioned to a chair for her to sit. "Don't worry, I figured this place would be empty at this time. Are you hungry?" Leanne slowly nodded and let her ears droop a little, calming down. "Do...they have grilled salmon here?" Caen smiled and nodded. "Yes they do. They have varied menu. That's why I enjoy coming here." He waved to a waitress and ordered the food. The waitress smiled and bowed, coming back half an hour later with their order. Leanne smiled and sniffed the delicious aroma of her salmon and began to eat it slowly, savoring every bite. Caen smiled at her and followed suit taking a few bites of his marmot steak. After they had finished eating Caen and Leanne slowly made their way to the Garden. Half way to their destination, Caen suddenly stopped walking. Leanne turned around and tilted her head to the side confused. "Before we head back, there's something I wanted to give you." Caen paused for a moment. Leanne's brows furrowed as he pulled out a pouch from his pocket. "There's a months wages in here, to help you get started when you're feeling better." She frowned and waved her hand in front of her face. "I-I cannot accept this...you've already done so much for me..." Caen sighed softly and placed the pouch in her hand. "Just take it. It's a gift. You need it." Leanne puffed out her cheeks and pouted. "F-fine...but...I'll pay you back! ...sometime..." Caen smiled at her and nodded, taking a step forward before stopping again. "Oh, that's right." "Hm?" Leanne tilted her head to the side again as Caen's expression turned serious. "I noticed you...fight...in your sleep. I may be able to cure your trauma through meditation..." Leanne's eyes widened. "Meditation...? I'd get my memories back?" Caen's expression didn't change. "I can't say for certain...but that could be a possibility...take your time and think about it. There's no rush." Leanne looked down at the ground, her thoughts eating at each other. Did she want to remember? There must be a reason she lost her memories. What would she learn? Did she even have the courage to find out? She was nervous and so very afraid, but even so, she knew she had to try, even if it didn't work. Leanne took a deep breathe, looking Caen square in the eyes and nodded. "I will try." Caen's expression softened as he walked forward. "Very well. We will try tomorrow." They continued back towards the Garden, the sun slowly setting in the background, dyeing the sky pink. -Out Of The Darkness And In Again- Caen and Leanne sat cross-legged in the middle of his dorm room. Caen's expression turned serious as he began speaking to her cautiously. "Leanne...are you ready?" Leanne nodded at him and he continued. "Very well. Now, I want you to take a deep breathe and close your eyes." Leanne nodded once more and did as she was told. Taking a deep breathe, she closed her eyes, her body trembling with uncertainty. Caen spoke up softly. "Calm down...nothings going to happen to you." Leanne's lips twitched and her body slowly began to relax. "Good. Now what do you see?" Leanne's brows furrowed. "Nothing...just darkness..." Caen nodded. "Look deeper...tell me what you see..." Her eyes rolled under her eyelids, her ears twitching. A small log cabin in the forest appeared before Leanne. "There's...a cabin...in the forest...it looks familiar..." Caen nodded and encouraged her. "Go inside..." Leanne placed her hand on the door knob but suddenly, it vanished and she was in a darkened room. "W-what? Where...where am I?" Leanne's fear started rising. Leanne frantically glanced around the dark room. She tried to lift herself off the ground but she couldn't move. Chains restrained her movements. "C-Caen...I....I can't move...!" Caen edged closer, his voice soft with a hint of concern. "Calm down, Leanne...your here beside me...nothing is going to happen..." The sound of slowly approaching footsteps is heard. "W-who's there?! W-what are you doing?!" Leanne's body stiffened. "Leanne...no one's there...open your eyes...that's enough." The masked man leaned over Leanne grinning, holding a syringe. Leanne gasped and whimpered loudly, her body jerking a few times. "I-it hurts! Let me go! P-please!" Caen reached forward and grabbed her hand squeezing it tightly. "Leanne, listen to me. He's not real. What ever you are seeing is only a memory..." Leanne moaned in pain, her body going into convulsions. Choking out a series of whimpers, Leanne gripped Caen's hand tightly. "Leanne, you have to fight back. Over come your fears that are suppressing you..." Tears were running down her cheeks, she whispered weakly. "I-I can't...I can't..." Caen pressed her further. "You can, Leanne, and you will. Just push forward. Nothing is real. You have nothing to fear. I'm right here..." Leanne groaned in pain. Leanne struggled underneath the man as he dragged a blade deeply across her skin in multiple areas. Blood dripped all over as it slowly began to pool under her. Pain was coursing through her entire body as she struggled to get away. She glanced to the side and noticed a spear leaning nearby. If she could just reach it...she whimpered loudly and reached her hand towards the spear, her fingers brushing against it. The masked man then plunged the blade into her arm. Leanne let out a scream, her fingers curling around the spear and thrusted it towards the man, impaling his face. Leanne's eyes shot open. Her frantic whimpers filled the tense atmosphere of the dorm room. Her body quaked in fear. She hugged herself, her breathing ragged. Caen reached his hands towards her, to console her. Leanne flinched, her eyes wide. "D-don't tough me!" She screeched, fear overflowing from her words. She continued to tremble and mumbled an apology under her breathe. Caen pulled his hands away and nodded. "I understand. Sorry. Do you...wish to be alone?" Leanne nodded weakly and Caen stood up and slowly made his way to the door. "I'll come back to check up on you later...you should rest, Leanne..." He then left the room, closing the door behind him. Leanne just curled up on the floor and weeped loudly, mourning her life. Was this a mistake? Was getting her memories back worth all this fear and pain? Would it have been better if she just never remembered? Living her life in blissful ignorance...never knowing the tragic, brutal murder of her only family and the innocent life that was forcefully ripped from her... How would she ever be able to heal from these wounds that keep opening up and bleeding out? May the Twelve forgive the sins of the innocent...and may the sinners burn for all eternity never to find repentance... They will all pay

-A Mother's Charm- The morning light shone brightly onto Leanne's sleeping face. She opened her eyes slowly, squinting. She sat up yawning, her ears drooping lazily. She slipped out of her bed and put on her work clothes. She raised her arms above her head, stretching and sighed heavily. She walked out of her room and headed to the kitchen. Rayne turned to Leanne and smiled sweetly. She handed her daughter a loaf of bread. Leanne smiled and took a bite. "Where's Laira?" Her ears twitched curiously. Her mother chuckled softly. "She's still sleeping I believe. Don't worry she'll wake up soon. Why don't you get started? I'll tell her to join up with you." Leanne nodded and turned, stepping towards the door. Rayne took a step forward. "Leanne, before you go, I want to give you this." Rayne reached to the back of her neck and unhooked her chain. She gently placed it in Leanne's open palm and smiled sweetly. Leanne looked down at the small chain in her hand. It was a small silver chain with a crescent moon pendant. "Why are you giving me this, mother? You always kept it on ever since grandmother gave it to you before passing..." Rayne put her hand on Leanne's cheek, gently stroking it. "It's a good luck charm...I give it to you now so that it may keep you safe." Leanne smiled and put the silver necklace around her neck, tucking it under her shirt. "Thank you, Mother." Leanne smiled before turning around and exiting the cabin. -Illusions Shatter- Leanne took a deep breathe, letting the cool morning air fill her lungs. She exhaled softly before slowly making her way towards the small plot of land which they use to grow their food. She bent down, her knees digging into the soft dirt, and began to pull out the weeds surrounding the crops. She wiped the sweat from her forehead and sighed. Having completed the first step, she moved on to the second. She examined the crops making sure they were all healthy and harvested all the ones that were mature enough. She mixed the soil up, preparing it for the next batch soon to be planted. Leanne stood up and stretched. She picked up a small wooden bucket and walked towards the river that was a few yalms away from her cabin home. Leanne's vision blurred for a split second. She put a hand to her forehead, squinting. A feeling of uneasiness washed over her. She stumbled slightly. "W-what is this...?" She took a deep breathe, her body trembling. A strong breeze whipped past her. She caught the smell of something putrid. Leanne leaned against the nearest tree to prevent herself from fainting. It smelled horrible, yet familiar. Her stomach churned. "Where is Laira...? Mother said she would be out soon to help..." Her head pounded, the uneasiness intensified, fueling her fear which was reaching it's peak. Leanne brushed her fingers gently across the crescent moon charm and sprinted towards the cabin. Leanne threw the front door open and stopped abruptly. Her eyes widened at the site of Garlean soldiers in her home. They slowly turned to face her, their masks hiding malevolent smiles on each of their faces. Leanne's eyes fell to the Imperial's feet. The brutally mutilated bodies of her mother and younger sister laid spread out in a pool of their own blood. Leanne froze, her eyes widen in shock. She inhaled sharply and turned to dash out the cabin, but the Imperial soldiers were faster. They grabbed Leanne's arms and roughly pulled her to them. Leanne struggled, but to no avail. They were much stronger than she was. Leanne threw her head back, breaking the nose of the Imperial behind her. He stumbled backwards and she took that opportunity to sink her fangs into the arm of another Imperial. She felt a sharp pain at the back of her head. And then darkness washed over her. -Broken And Defeated- Leanne couldn't see a thing as she was being pushed and pulled Twelve knows where. The Imperial Soldiers who murdered her family, hastily muttered to each other. The Imperial guiding Leanne stopped, and roughly shoved her into a small dark room. She stumbled and tripped, hitting the cold hard floor loudly. The chains that bound her wrists and ankles clattered on impact. Leanne grunted loudly, her ears perked up alarmed as the Imperial ripped off her blindfold. She blinked a few times and glanced around the room. She bit her bottom lip nervously. The Imperials still had their masks on. Leanne's gaze lowered to her hands and feet. The tight chains dug into her skin. The Imperials muttered softly before turning and walking away. Leanne's head snapped up. She wanted to call out. Yell at them to release her, but the door slammed shut and the Imperials vanished. Leaving her alone in the dark, with no knowledge of where she was or what would happen to her. Leanne bowed her head and cried silently. Leanne was woken up by the sound of her cell door being thrown open. She bolted upright, her heart beating rapidly. She watched the three Garlean men approach her hastily. "Get up!" The tall one yelled, roughly grasping Leanne's arm, pulling her to her feet. She flinched away, her eyes widening in fear. "No! Let me go!" Leanne struggled to get away. The tall Garlean growled angrily and pulled her to him, clenching his left hand into a fist. Leanne squeaked and stumbled forward into the man's chest, her chains metallic ringing filling the small room. The Garlean took a step back and raised his fist, and swung it full force towards Leanne hitting her right cheek. Leanne crashed onto the cold floor, hitting her head. She whimpered softly, her cheek throbbing in pain. The two Garlean bystanders snickered to each other as the tall Garlean stepped towards Leanne and roughly kicked her stomach. She yelped in pain. She rolled to her side coughing and wheezing. The Garlean grabbed a hand full of Leanne's hair and pulled her to her feet again. "You better listen to me next time..." He warned, his hot breathe warming her face. Leanne flinched, her ears flattening. She whimpered quietly before being dragged out of her cell and into a long brightly lit corridor. -All The Pain In The World- They wandered through the long corridor, passing by numerous doors which echoed with strange incomprehensible sounds. Leanne's ears flattened but didn't question the noises, fearing what they might actually be. The Garleans stopped in front of a red door. Leanne stared at the inscription above the red door carefully but could not read the foreign letters. The tall Imperial quickly knocked on the door before entering. He dragged Leanne into a brightly lit room with a lone chair in the middle. Leanne's ears flattened as she was pushed down into the chain and strapped tightly into it. Leanne watched the Imperial's mutter quietly to each other before turning towards another in a white coat. The white man slowly approached her and examined her carefully. He muttered to himself before reaching into his coat and pulling out a syringe with a strange fluorescent green liquid inside. Leanne's eyes widen. "What is that?" She stared at the syringe in fear. The white man chuckled slightly. "Don't be afraid. This wont hurt too much..." he walked up to Leanne and bent over slightly, to face her. An eerie smile plastered onto his face. He watched Leanne squirm in her seat, unable to break free from both the chains and leather straps that bound her. She let out a small whimper as the white man pinched her arm with his fingers. "Please stop..." she begged. Her fear escalated quickly as the white man punctured her pale skin with the syringe and injected the unknown green liquid inside of her. Leanne shut her eyes tightly, feeling her stomach churn. She whimpered silently as the white man got up and examined her more thoroughly. "There. Any noticeable changes? Feeling hot? Nausea? Headaches?" he studied her for a while, looking at her eyes, fangs, pulling her cheeks, checking her reflexes, heartbeat, and temperature. "This drug I injected into you will enhance your more...beastly attributes. Reflexes, sight, smell, hearing and instincts. We have yet to test it on any live specimen, so you will do nicely." he turned to the tall Imperial. "Return her to her cell. If any changes to her health develop, I insist you bring her back to me for examination." he turned back to Leanne who was feeling dizzy and smirked at her. "I will be seeing you again real soon, darling. And please, don't try to fight it." Leanne's vision blurred and faded into darkness. The past few weeks were pure torture. After the injection Leanne developed a high fever, various headaches and was unable to move due to the lack of physical strength. The Imperials took that opportunity to take advantage of her, as they amused themselves with her body. Despite her weak protests, the Imperials paid no attention to her as she weeped silently, wishing that the strange liquid they injected her with would just end her pain and suffering. The white man visited her often, mostly to check for any major changes in her health. He always walked away dissapointed. Muttering about something missing. He'd always try to get her to drink some foul smelling white paste, but Leanne would refuse to cooperate, which resulted in an angry scientist and a beating for her. Once Leanne recovered from her fever and was able to move on her own, the Imperials brought her to another room. This one dark and filled with different tools and sharp objects. The white man smiled upon her arrival and threw his arms open in a welcoming gesture. "Welcome my dear. I'd like you to take a seat once again, but this time we shall try something a little different." Leanne's body trembled in fear but she slowly walked to the chair and sat down willingly. She closed her eyes as the Imperial strapped her in. She glanced at the white man. "Are the straps really necessary? They hurt..." she tried pulling her hands out of the straps but failed. She exhaled silently. "For the little experiment we will be conducting, it would be in out best interest to have your movements...restricted." he smiled and turned to the tall Imperial. "You may begin whenever you wish. Feel free to use all manner of tools assembled for you here." The white man smiled once again before moving to the end of the room, sitting down on a chair facing Leanne's direction. He pulled out a note pad and pen and started taking notes. Leanne's gaze fell to the tall Imperial that stood before her. She could feel a malevolent smile radiate behind the man's mask. Leanne whimpered as the man walked to a table covered in different metal tools. He chose one at random and slowly approached her. Leanne squirmed as he stopped in front of her. Her breathing quickened as the Imperial waved the rusted tool in front of her face. "Now, stand still. This is going to hurt a lot." he tightened his grip on the blade and swung it downwards, piercing the skin of Leanne's hand. Leanne screamed loudly and bowed her head. She moaned in pain as the Imperial wiggled the blade impaling her hand before quickly ripping it out. She screamed again, tears rolling down her face. The Imperial laughed wildly as Leanne groaned in pain. The white man looked at Leanne curiously, his eyes sparkling. "You don't seem to tolerate pain very well...We can fix that. Soldier!" he motioned to the Imperial. "Continue." the Imperial nodded and laughed. Leanne stared at the Imperial in fear. He twirled the bloody blade in his hand and caressed Leanne's cheek, the tip of the blade threatening to slice her soft skin. "Now darling...hold still..." he pressed the blade into her skin, drawing blood. Leanne winced in pain as he slowly dragged the blade from the bottom of her left eye all the way down to her chin. He let out an excited cheer and bent over to get a closer look at his handy work. Leanne recoiled away turning her head, her eyes stinging. "Hey, look at me!" the Imperial roared, roughly grabbing her chin with his free hand making her face him. He grinned madly and brought his face closer to the bleeding wound on her cheek. He licked the dripping blood and thrusted the blade into her shoulder without warning. Leanne screamed in pain and sank her fangs into his exposed neck. The Imperial yelped out in surprise and punched her head, knocking her and the chair she was strapped to, over. The white man stood up and watched curiously. The Imperial kicked Leanne numerous times in the stomach, blowing off his anger and surprise before walking away to bandage his neck. Leanne coughed up blood and wheezed painfully. She struggled to move but the weight of the chair was making it difficult to move. The white man skipped over to the wounded Miqo'te and bent over to study her face. Leanne groaned and panted heavily, she narrowed her eyes at the man and growled softly, her pink eyes turning a more reddish shade. The white man smiled. "My...this is rather...interesting." he took out another syringe with bubbling yellow liquid. Leanne struggled pointlessly as the white man pierced her neck with the needle and injected the liquid inside. Leanne gasped loudly as the burning liquid flowed through her blood stream. She felt her body heat increase dramatically and struggled to breathe. The Imperial walked up to the two and looked down at Leanne. "Sweet dreams beautiful." he kicked the back of her head, knocking her out. -Freedom At What Cost?- Leanne woke up to a lot of commotion outside her cell door. Her mind was cloudy and her vision blurred. She slowly sat up, her body cried out in pain. She felt weak and everything was soar. She listened to the commotion for a while. Seems the Imperials believed the Ixal were ready to summon Garuda. That meant she was still in the Black Shroud. She glanced down at her chains. Leanne noticed that one of the cuffs wasn't as tight. She struggled with it before managing to remove her hand from the cuff. She rubbed her irritated wrist and removed the other cuff from her hand and finally, the ones on her ankles. She stumbled to her feet, dizziness washing over her. She leaned onto the wall for support. "They're distracted...I have to get out...now..." she walked up to her cell door and slowly opened it part way, peeking through to make sure no Imperials were around. She heard the hurried footsteps and frantic voices of the Imperials a few corridors away and took that opportunity to run for it. She willed herself to ignore her body's broken state and ran as fast and as far as she could go. "I can't go back...I won't go back..." she muttered under her breathe, She sped through numerous maze-like corridors before she spotted the exit. She busted through the doors and continued to run. The cool night air felt refreshing, but she had no time to rejoice. She had to get away. Leanne didn't know how long she ran before she collapsed onto the hot pavement that belonged to the city of Ul'dah. The last thing she remembered before passing out of fatigue was seeing the sun slowly lit up the sky. Something she hadn't seen for months, ever since the Garleans took her and her life away. She willed herself to die as she closed her eyes. She heard the faint sound of echoing footsteps slowly approach her before her mind faded to nothingness. The crescent moon pendant around her neck shimmering in the light of a new dawn.

I tend to emote the ears mostly. The tail sometimes not often just easier with the ears. She doesn't 'meow' or do that thing where people put a bunch of r's everywhere. She does purr, growl and hiss though. She also bites and scratches~

-A Dark Warning- Leanne stood in a middle of a dark room. Her eyes strained, trying to determine her whereabouts. Her pink ears flatten as she scanned her surroundings as best as she could, but found nothing. Only darkness. A path appeared before her. An eerie presence lingered in the cold damp air. Leanne shivered slightly, goosebumps forming on her pale skin. Her ears twitched nervously as she slowly made her way across the path. The fur on her tail raised as she approached a pair of large metal doors. Leanne held her breathe as she examined the strange markings embedded on the large doors. Leanne traced her fingers gently across the markings. She felt a cold chill run down her spine. Her stomach churned as the uneasiness she felt intensified. She sighed heavily, a failed attempt at calming down. She noticed a faint glow emanate from the closed doors. She swallowed hard, a nervous ball forming in her throat. She gently placed both her palms onto the cold metal doors. She took a deep breathe and pushed open the doors. A rush of cold wind whipped out through the opening. She winced and shut her eyes tightly. There was a putrid stench flowing from the unknown room. Leanne trembled as she slowly opened her eyes. The smell was familiar yet disturbing. Her knees weakened, her stomach churned as her eyes adjusted to the strange lighting. That's when she saw it... Death... -Just Another Day- Leanne rolled around in bed restlessly as the morning light greeted her face. Her ears twitched as the door to her bedroom creaked open. She rolled onto her back and mumbled in her sleep. She grunted loudly as the sudden weight of her small Elezen sister crushed her rib cage. Her sister laughed softly and jumped off the bed having completed her mission, she smirked proudly. "Leanne! It's time for breakfast! Get up!" Leanne sighed and slowly sat up rubbing her sleepy eyes. She gave her sister a look of pure annoyance, who replied with a high pitched giggle and quickly ran down the hall to the kitchen. Leanne sighed, a soft smile on her face. -All We Can Do- Rayne smiled to herself as she listened to her daughters. She slowly put the plates on the table, her ears twitching at the sound of the Elezen giggling. The Elezen child entered the kitchen happily. Rayne smiled at her as she took a seat at the table. "I hope you didn't bother your sister too much, Laira." she said softly before taking a seat. Laira giggled happily, her blue eyes sparkling. "Leanne's such a sleepy head!" she smiled brightly. Leanne slowly walked into the kitchen yawning loudly. She sat down at the table her ears twitching happily. The small family bowed their heads quietly giving thanks to the Twelve for the food on the table. All the hard work they put in to cultivate vegetables in their small plot of land helps them make it through each day. They were half way done eating before Laira spoke up. "Hey mother...why do you never talk to us about father?" she glanced at her mother hopefully. Rayne's ears flattened, her eyes darkening sadly. Leanne stood up, her ears perked up angrily. "Laira! You know how mother gets upset when we mention father! How can you be so inconsiderate to her feelings?!" Laira puffed out her cheeks, upset. She stood up with tears in her eyes. "You guys never care about my feelings, do you?!" she yelled angrily before sprinting out the door into the South Shroud. "Laira! Wait!" Leanne reached her hand out towards her sister, but it was already too late. Rayne put a hand on Leanne shoulder, weeping silently. "Please go after you sister, Leanne...it's too dangerous for her to be alone out there..." Leanne nodded. "Don't worry, mother. I'll get her back home safe before you know it." she smiled gently before rushing out the door after her little sister. -Sister's Bond- Leanne ran through the South Shroud frantically searching for Laira while avoiding any dangerous creatures. Her ears perked up to the sound of various threats and her body moved instinctively away, avoiding them perfectly. Leanne arrived near a big rock, panting heavily. She heard soft weeping coming from inside. She knelt beside a small opening covered with branches and leaves. She pushed the branches away and slowly crawled inside. She glanced around the dark, her eyes landing on her Elezen sister curled up in the far end. Leanne crawled up to Laira and sat beside her, gently pulling her in for a hug. Laira rested her head on Leanne's chest and continued to cry. "I don't even know...what father looks like...why couldn't I have been born a Miqo'te like you sister...everyone gives me weird looks whenever I'm with you and mother...that's why we moved here..." she held onto Leanne tightly. Leanne sighed sadly and gently stroked her sister's hair. She smiled sadly. "Father was an Elezen like you...you have his eyes...and mother's hair...I have father's hair and mother's eyes...you can say...both of us have a piece of father inside of us...he's always here...smiling..." she nuzzled Laira lovingly. "I miss him, Leanne..." Laira sighed softly. Leanne squeezed her sister tightly. "I miss him too, Laira...but we have to be strong...for mother..." They stayed cuddled together quietly for a few more minuted before crawling out of the rock. Leanne smiled at her sister. "Come. Mother is waiting for us." she held Laira's hand softly. Laira giggled. "I love you, Leanne." she smiled brightly. One of the brightest smiles Leanne has ever seen. None of them knew of the horror's to come, as the sisters headed back home. ~A Peaceful Dream~ end
