Howdy! So, I'm going to echo a few people here. 1.) Look at making a post within the connection section. 2.) Make a wiki, or as I call them a character sheet. 3.) Look for an FC, and make sure they are a good fit for you. I've been in this boat for a good four weeks my friend, and I cannot express how important it is for you not to get discouraged. There are decent role-players out there, and if you keep on looking you'll find it or in some cases they will find you. Now, I know this might sound strange and all. But, I'd suggest try scheduling oocly with another role-player. You know, even if it requires you to wait you could use that time to enjoy the content within the game, fresh out your character some, or make a glamour. I'm not going to bore you, or clutter your screen with text on this subject. But, don't let someone or a group lead you on. If they express interest be here, in-game, or wherever it may be and you make the effort to reach back out to them and they blow you off or come up with some reason why they cannot RP with you after a few attempts (The amount is up to you.) MOVE ON. Cause if you wait around, you are going to find yourself getting burnt out, or worst discouraged.

So, I figured I would give this thread another bump! My RP experiences have been aright, but I'm finding role-play hard to come by. I've been sending ooc whispers, having Boulder approach people Icly, and even been emoting openly in an attempt to bait in some role-play. I'm not quite sure what it is I'm not doing wrong, so if anyone had advice I'm all ears! But, with that off my chest. I'd like to say the people who have responded to this thread have been nothing but helpful, oocly. I understand that our play times differ, and all that good jazz. No! Thank you for the add my friend. Anyways I just wanted to take a moment and let you all know that I've brought my main over and he's been made into Trembling! I'll be sure to get back into contact with you all once the game is back up. I'm still looking for people to RP! Name: Trembling Boulder Sex: Male Race: Roegadyn Clan: Hellsguard Age: 26 Bio: Like most second, and third-born children of the Hellsguard clan. Trembling Boulder was sent forth from his mountain village like many others before him, and made his way towards Ul'dah. Yet Trembling wasn't the second, or third-born he was in fact the first born with his younger brother only being a year behind him. It wasn't until he was older, that his village expressed worry. Trembling unlike his brother was very timid, thoughtful, passive, and far from fearless. "When he wields steel, he shakes so hard I swear if we where to leave it in his hands he'd shake the pommel right off. Don't even get me started on how bad his voice shakes when he's nervous." " He has the ferocity of a cactuar." "He screams like a female hyur child." After much discussion the village decided to let Trembling leave, and let his brother take his place. After all who knew how many souls would pass by from the gates of the underworld if Trembling would be the one to stand guard. Once the news was given to Trembling he took it with a soft smile, and a submissive nod. After all it was out of his nature to be upset, angry, and deep down he understood why that choice had to be made. However, besides choosing to reside there and becoming a Sell-sword. Trembling made his way towards Gridania after hearing about it's cooler climates, lush green forest, and lastly it's vegetation. Upon arrival Trembling quickly feel in love. Everything he had heard was true, and it wasn't long until Trembling found himself applying to the Conjures' Guild. Once being accepted Trembling has devoted his life to respecting the elements, studying the art of the conjurer, and doing the bidding of the guild when a job feel in his lap. ( Assuming the guild would give out task.) OOC: Looks like it's me again, but this time I come before you all looking for some people who'd be down for some lasting, and meaningful RP. Oh, and I hope everyone is doing great today! I'm really interested in adventure base Rp. You know, like going out into the world and Rping at difference places, and making out a reason why said characters are there. ( I know sounds pretty lame and boring.) Thanks for the feedback Iex, I'm really grateful for it. But, just to make it clear I have no intentions of making him into a WHM or even playing around with the idea in general. Also thank you for making that clear to me on the magic aspect, I've done a few for the quest and I was just confused on the proper way to emote it. As for the book idea I think I'll stick with a staff. I'm not wanting to make him into a special snowflake. Once more, thank you so much!

Oh, and below this I've posted a few questions. Lore Questions. 1.) Is it alright that I have him learning the Conjurer class? ( Note. I have no intentions of making him a white mage. None. Zero.) 2.) I've heard it before, but I wasn't able to find it. But, Gridania tends to not like outsiders. If this is true would Trembling still be able to join the Conjures' guild? Also after some time within Gridania would it be safe to say the people slowly start to 'tolerate' him? 3.) Could I RP him as a conjurer, but perhaps use a book icly to channel the spells? Only reason I ask is cause I really favor being a SCH healer over a WHM Oocly. 4.) Speaking of spells. Would someone mind to fill me in on how magic works? I'm assuming a conjurer pleads to the elements and then use aether to make the healing spell?

I'm looking to make some connections seeing that I'm having little luck within the game making friends who tend to stay active. To be honest It's a bit disheartening at times, but once a wise role-player told me there is a difference between looking for contact, and awaiting contact. So here I am on the Making Connections section hoping to find a few active role-players, or even a FC that's about role-playing, and enjoying what the game has to offer. Sure someone might be thinking, "You can find plenty of role-play in Ul'dah." However, as much as I love Tavern role-play I feel there is only so much growth a character can obtain from such an environment. Frankly I'm looking for the character to go on adventures, and the sorts seeing we have such a beautiful world to explore! Hello everyone, I suppose this is the part when I say something along the lines to gain your undying interest, but sadly all that comes to my mind are really lame jokes that would most likely end up with someone tossing their computer screen out a window, or against a wall seeing that a window might not be present at the time, ha! Alright, now that we have that out of the way allow me to bore you all with my life story. In a galaxy far, far away.... Captain's log..... Once upon a time.... During the age of elves and men.... This one time at band camp.... Eh, perhaps I should just hire Morgan Freeman to narrate this part. So, I've been role-playing for quite sometime, I started in the early 2000's in a game known as Guild Wars, and from there I experimented with a few other games such as World of Warcraft, Eve Online, Guild Wars 2, and lastly a bit of old school forum based role-play on a sight known as RPGFO. If you aren't able to tell I'm a very goofy person, and role-playing is something I have a passion for. OOC I am all about OOC respect to all players of the game no matter what their desired game-play style is, or guild tag they hold. I make it a point as a role-player to help promote a fun, enjoyable, and creative atmosphere when I am about. (After all we do play this game, and role-play to have a nice break from the real-world.
