1. Don't worry about it, dude. I got this.
2. @Faye: Anything is possible. I'm always ready for what I plan for to go down the drain. Doesn't mean I'll let that possibility stop me from proposing what I think could be an enjoyable RP. And if my character gets caught in an impossible situation? Well, shit happens. @Sig: I understand that. I have been considering those very same ideas to keep the roleplay from disturbing others. Not that anyone has approached me about actually being a part of this yet.
3. To be honest Warren, that's a valid concern so I don't blame you for it. The ideal scenario for me would be for the roleplay to happen without awareness of anybody who didn't WANT to be aware. Kind of how when you have a situation in a fancy ball where some guards get involved, you see hushed whispers between them and some of the guests, but you're left guessing what's going on and no one is inclined to make a big deal out of it because they don't want people to talk about how 'this this and that' happened at 'that fancy ball, scandalous!'. Obviously whomever agreed to play the mark would be aware that somewhere during the event an attempt on their possessions would be made. The hosts of this event would also be aware so they could respond in kind. For the rest of folk, well unless they read this thread or pay attention to the RP, would hopefully be blissfully ignorant and just have a Merry Starlight Time.
4. Fair enough, Warren. Though I can certainly say that I don't mean to disturb the event as a hole, but rather have this idea as an isolated incident that happens within the event itself. Though if the hosts themselves seek to get involved, which makes complete sense ICly, they can. What I mean is I don't want to spoil anyone's fun and if anybody answers to this summons, then they'll be going in the event aware that they're going to be targeted. I mean most people just talk and participate in the activities already provided by the event itself but there are a few who privately step outside its rails for their own personal things, and this is what I'm aiming for here. Certainly not looking for an IC fiasco, let alone all out combat in any shape or form. I mean part of a good theft is to avoid confrontation, whether you are or not successful. When caught its a lot better to just run than to try and fight.
5. Starlight Ball celebrations are so nice, aren't they? Plenty of food, games and a cheery spirit, along with cutthroat daggers to go with those smiles! If the title and the line above didn't elaborate enough, I'm looking for individuals, preferably those with characters of some power and prestige (nobles for instance) whom are attending this starlight celebration event, who are up for a little Thief Cat and Mouse. Usually thief characters looking to pilfer a sack of gil could just improvise an RP stealing somebody during the event, but as it happens I am: A) Using this event as an opportunity to move forward with a plot whose mark is a very specific gem which can be used as a jewelry. The odds of someone actually using that specific gem during the event without any prompt may be slim indeed. B) Don't want to ruin some player's celebration RP by pressing them into a theft RP which they don't want to be a part of. Not saying the person HAS to 'lose' in this RP, though, so don't worry about that. If anyone is interested, send me a PM and I'd be glad to enter in contact with you to speak further details.
6. Hmm, interesting. The existence of another LS was unknown to me...
7. Anything with the idea of freedom really. I thought of using the Sky Pirate symbol from Leofard's band, but so far the only place I've seen it is in that little island sign in the Sea of Clouds. Shame too, its a nice one. https://gyazo.com/8e66450d74c9176e6520dbdfde996842 As you can see, taking a picture of the sign itself doesn't lead to the best result.
8. Sky Pirates Avante! This Linkshell is dedicated to establishing and maintaining contact between Sky Pirates, Sky Pirate Crews and Sky Pirate Free Companies and allies. We're working to build a Sky Pirate dedicated community that welcomes all regardless of origin, allegiance--past or present--where every men and women answer only to their own desires. Our cousins from the sea are also welcome! This Linkshell is an Out of Character shell, meant more as a hang out and OOC organization tool rather than anything else where members can contact others to discuss roleplay ideas and opportunities, or merely just enjoy the company of kindred spirits. Your character doesn't necessarily have to be a Sky Pirate to be a part of our community, but it is advised that they are or have some connection pirates as it is our Linkshell theme. Our sole rule is that every man and woman is responsible for their own words and affairs: Remain civil and cordial to your fellows, do not bring problems and arguments to the Linkshell, do not fight your battles in the Linkshell. Civil discussion is welcome otherwise. For entry in the Linkshell contact Reinard Ackerman, Seiko Mamushi or Auralia Rhotana.
9. Good point. There's a linkshell-dedicated area right? Can anyone post there? Lets see if I can add one. -Edit- Also looking for images for an 'avatar' for the Linkshell... I googled 'Freedom Wings' and was spammed with Attack on Titan scouting legion symbols, so uh... yeah. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=14425 Here is the current page for the Linkshell.
10. I have to say, and this might be the wrong thread to make a rant about this but its still in topic so why not. Given we're all here to talk about Sky Pirate RP there's no reason why we can't have a small dialogue on its intricacies: Personally, I'm not planning on using Diadem all that much. It can easily become a clutch and narrow down RP. It works if all we mean to do in it is use it as a map to roleplay on an airship on I wouldn't jump straight into using Diadem as a whole for RP. The way I see it, Airships are meant to give freedom, and I don't mean that in the whole romantic, in character 'Why am I a sky pirate' meaning, but more OOCly. They open options and serve as plot devices or means not readily available to others. For the most part Airships would be implied and mentioned, just used as entry points into scenes, exit points and in narratives when fitting. Take XII for instance. The airship there is present for most of the game but merely as a means to carry on the plot as far as it is able by ferrying the party through plot walls and bringing them to newly accessible areas and such. Just thought I'd mention that since there is a lot of people putting in game airships, Diadem and Sky Pirate RP together as if they were dependent on each other. Now onto more news: LS still growing, we had someone bring in three of the Dreadwyrms which I absolutely love, and I'm looking forward to meeting them soon. I've already started working with a friend about organizing a job which can be used as a first RP to meet any who want to be a part of it. No details yet, still discussing those!
11. A little update for those interested: I set up the Linkshell and have been able to invite people to it already. Name is 'Leaf on the Wind' and its got around 6 people so far, most of which are folk that posted here. Me (Reinard Ackerman), Mamushi's char (Seiko Mamushi) and another friend, Auralia Rhotana, can invite you into the Linkshell if you want in. That gives everyone a common meeting ground to talk and organize RP from. It's an advised means of communication but not a necessary one (I know plenty of people seem to have all their Linkshell spots filled). But with that out of the way, next thing I'll do is start looking working on meeting people in character and try to get the ball rolling for some Sky Pirate RP. As it is most characters that have shown interest seem to stand on the 'fledgling Sky Pirate', 'wingless Sky Pirate' or 'dreamer' stages. In other words, folks that dream of the freedom of the skies but don't have it. So an interesting first idea for roleplay that I would suggest would be to meet folks like Gil Grey and/or the Dread Wyrms and establish contacts/deals/works for some 'Starting wings' Either way I'm still gonna be looking for the people who posted here, and anybody else that's interested.
12. I have to say I'm not looking to turn this into a FC. A Linkshell is as far as I'm planning. My goal here is to simply get people talking to each other, regardless of what FC they're in and what not. That said it would be interesting to have people of multiple Pirate crew FCs join in a single Linkshell as that would broaden the contact between these groups and facilitate interaction. Ah, my point was that there is definitely interest, not to join their FC haha. SKY PIRATE FC/FLEETS ALLIANCE IN LS WOULD BE SUPER COOL THOUGH JUST SAYING. Sorry, I love Sky Pirates. Balthier for life *A* A person after my heart. Chuckles.
13. I have to say I'm not looking to turn this into a FC. A Linkshell is as far as I'm planning. That said it would be interesting to have people of multiple Pirate crew FCs join in a single Linkshell as that would broaden the contact between these groups and facilitate interaction.
14. I'm currently in game, occasionally searching for characters of the people who posted here. I've also re-purposed an old of mine Linkshell for the purpose of establishing and maintaining contact with any Sky Pirate characters. If you happen to be in game now, contact me (Reinard Ackerman).
15. Wow, so many replies! Loving it. Alright I shall be looking for those whom spoke of interest in game and we can have a direct chat there. Come to think of it, is there a dedicated 'Sky Pirate' LS yet? Cause I happen to have an old LS that's no longer in use and could be re-purposed. If there is one, let me know. -Edit- Also, Freyaliesel and Mamushi, what characters are you looking to play in this? I've searched for the others who replied here but your character's names aren't as obvious as that of the others.
16. So with the most recent patch, Sky Pirates are a thing. I imagine many of us has seen it coming and some even have been playing with the idea already. I know I have. So I'm making this thread to announce my own search for these freedom-loving souls who would like nothing more than to find adventure (or have adventure find you) and treasure (What else would a pirate want?), and I'm inviting others to do the same. Hopefully people here can meet in a bar, trade a few words and work something out. This is mostly an interest thread and while I do have ideas of my own, I figure the first part ought to be meet like minded people with whom I can hopefully work with on these ideas once we've hit it off.
17. Damn... That post Momo, it was like both very philosophical and it somehow reminded me a bit of Q from Star Trek when briefly speaking of the 'possibilities of existence'. Slow clap. I like it. Sorry I don't have much to add right now.
18. I don't really think its easier to use. As I described in the post, it would be an alternative for magic users who also choose to take a more direct (like melee) approach to combat, using the Ninjutsu mechanics as visual representation. Another way to see it is, a way of 'acting Ninja' ICly without actually BEING a Ninja.
19. Hmm, that's a good point, but as far as Sphere Scroll goes, I'd bump that to 'Its a horrible example': That's a scroll containing arcana meant to absorb soul power through 'Light' and later infuse that power into a physical medium through means known only by Thimvarian (Spell check?) scholars. The singular purpose and the complexity of the task that scroll is made for means that it is on a whole new level, making it incomparable to basic-level spells, which is what Ninjutsu is in my eyes--Throw a fireball, create ice around a target, make water gush from underneath the enemy, and so on--which the gloves in this idea emulate. As far examples of arcane geometry, I'd just fall back onto the drawings of the book models in game and the little effects that materialize off them during spell cast.
20. That's why I said "As far corpses are concerned". I'm well aware that the Lifestream is an actual river of energy, a concept to Final Fantasy that I first saw in VII (Not sure if it was touched upon in earlier games, which I didn't play.) I was speaking of the term 'Lifestream' in relation towards physical bodies and the composition/decomposition cycle in regards to my belief that their body doesn't just break away into energy on death. I kind of disagree there. For the purpose of writing, a character's dialogue can be often romanticized or written in such a way that it will hold an atmosphere of mystery and mystique. It's a means to draw the reader and immerse them into the world, as opposed to just flatly saying, in clear cut means, exactly what something is, which would make the whole thing sound--pardon the pun--soulless and uninteresting. So we can never take certain things at 100% face value, specially when it comes to potentially abstract concepts that are of fantastic nature and merely described one way or another to aid in their understanding. That they are a 'Trusted NPC' doesn't matter either: I've seen people discuss lore as it develops, and specifically in the subject of Primals, the player is given information about what the Primals are through the Scions, but more and more Primals defied the Scion's explanations (Like the Great King Mog case), a fact noticed not only by players but also by characters themselves, leading many players to theorize that in many aspects, the characters are as clueless as the player and potentially entirely wrong. Ascians themselves happen to cast doubt on the player and character's knowledge of the power of the Echo, and although they're not 'Trusted', they displayed enough abnormalities through their power that I think its fairly obvious that there is more to it than what the player is just let on. Whether that's intentional or not, I've no clue. For all I know this could simply be the writer's means to a retcom device, as time passes they will inevitably develop parts of the lore, and may simply use "This earlier explanation was incorrect and these character's simply didn't know better" to avoid the new conflicting with the old. Which ties in with the whole Nabriales case where he just conjured up a new body out of thin air, which as far we knew up until that point, was impossible. Finally, why can't we hold fantasy to the same standards as real life? I see people say that all the time, but frankly to me it just sounds like one way of saying "Its fantasy, don't look too into it", while I happen to like looking into things . Fantasy is always based on the real world to some degree or another. These ideas aren't thought out of thin air, with a lot of them having ties into real world mythology. And as far as non-fantastic lore concepts which are present in the real world, I see no problem in holding those to the same standards either. 'Figure of speech' exists in both real world and Final Fantasy.
21. It's somewhat canon for this to happen in XIV as it is. The ghost mobs (lost souls, etc) that look like floating blobs with wings are detached souls which haven't found their way back to the Lifestream, be it due to denial, bitterness at being dead, or whatever reason they might have. There are a few FATEs with lore blurbs around it as well. Recently I've seen a bit circulating about how aether works, and how the soul and body both return to aether upon death, but there's part of this which leaves me confused, because we see in game that there are also zombies and magicked bones. Hell, there's even a cemetary at St. Adama Landama church in Eastern Thanalan. You even have quests where you retrieve and bury corpses, and neither zombies nor magicked bones would exist -without- those corpses. So there's a question of whether the physical body, when intact, might take a lot longer to break down into aether than the individual's recently released soul. About that last part: The way I see it, corpses in XIV follow the same pattern as corpses in real life. They 'return to the earth' through decomposition. I don't think its ever said that the bodies literally break down into raw energy, ever. But rather, 'return to the aether', as far bodies and other physical objects are concerned, could just be another way of saying they 'decompose'. After all the aether is energy that composes everything and everyone, including the earth, and a body breaking down to its smallest parts and being seeded into the earth the usual way is 'returning to the aether' just as much as it would be if it broke down into raw energy. I couple that thought with the thought of process in the opposite end of this spectrum: Conception of new life. I think we can safely assume that happens 'The usual way', and doesn't entail to Lifestream bombarding a woman's belly, forming a baby's body within her until it is done. So if a new person's body is composed the normal, biological way, then I'd say it's decomposed in the same manner. Likewise, the Lifestream, as far corpses are concerned, doesn't necessarily have to mean a flowing stream of energy. It could just as well refer to the cycle of life, being formed, living through its useful life and then breaking down. Certain statements can't really have their meaning taken at face value because they're statements made by individuals who live in a different environment and society, with different concepts to ours, and that might lead us to describe the same process through different expressions. Aside from that: Good call on the whole 'lingering souls' and the ghost mobs, as well as the idea of pyreflies. That's something I hadn't thought of.
22. I'd forgot about the Dark Crystal, but I think those were needed to cross the realm? I'd have to re-watch that 'summary explanation' cutscene again to be sure. As for A-Towa's case, I truly don't remember if it was ever explained just how he managed to do what he did. It's been a while since I looked into that storyline, it would be worth revisiting those cutscenes and journal entries. Though like I said it's possible that it is his position as a Padjal and his connection to the Elementals that allowed him to survive, although if the Thyrus' resting place is any indication as to where he died, he died far from the Black Shroud. And yeah I had considered the similarities towards primals and the constant need of aether to fuel the body as a result from it. Would certainly change a person's life around entirely, but its a cost that makes sense.
23. Aether Composite Form/Aether Body Theory This concept is inspired in the White Mage storyline so if you haven't explored that storyline, reading on will lead to spoilers. The idea is based primarily on the resurgence of A-Towa-Cant, and secondarily in the theme of mind over matter that's present in some of the Final Fantasy titles, most famously being Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII I imagine. It's actually a fairly simple idea that for the most part is already present in the game's lore, but through this I bring out the possibility of expanding and further defining it. Okay, enough intros, lets get to it. According to the lore, when death comes to a person their soul is the first to go and dissipates into aether that returns to the lifestream of Hydaelyn, with the body following after its usual pos-death cycle. An all too common theme within Final Fantasy. This idea however involves a different order to that cycle, where a person instead loses their physical form before death and before having their 'soul' perish. Notice that death doesn't have to be necessarily involved, as in the person doesn't have to be necessarily at a point where they will die. It could very well be an instantaneous incident that consumes them before they can even realize it--such as an explosion--or it could even be something they do willingly to themselves, both cases even provide better examples for this idea than a common death scenario. The reason is because the core of this idea is the person's 'Will' or 'Willpower'. During an accident where a person's form is suddenly 'disposed' of, the victim might refuse to accept or not even acknowledge their situation. That could be because they feel that their time isn't now, that they have much work left to do (Such as it was with A-Towa-Cant), or just because they are plain stubborn (Sephiroth's case). Whatever the reason, this person 'refuses' to die, and due to some unusual condition their soul lingers in Hydaelyn. So far this is actually fairly within lore still as we have more than a few characters with the ability to 'cheat death' in this manner. Ascians (and supposedly anybody with the power of the echo) can linger in the realm and even reform their own bodies. Its possible that A-Towa-Cant was capable because he was a Padjal and his connection to the aether streams was stronger than most. I would also like to think that somebody sufficiently 'Willful' may have this 'ability' without being some unique type of being, but at the same time it would require a person of immense amount of willpower. Now here comes the slightly lore-bending part. A formless soul wandering around is quick to be sucked into the lifestream. They need a new body to inhabit. Ascians cross into the realm between realms where they gather power to reform. But what about those that can not? Well I once more go back to the example of A-Towa-Cant. His soul was memorized or imprinted upon the soul gem he carried, soul gems being described as crystals that hold the memories of its past owners, but there is nothing that says that it can not house an actual soul. Indeed A-Towa-Cant's case even implies that this is possible. But what about those that do not have a soul gem? Well, for the most part I would say that they are out of luck, but to those that have a truly mighty 'Will', I would throw them a bone and say that perhaps that strong will of theirs will allow them to create their own Soul Gem. We've no real idea of how soul gems are created--Or at least I've not seen any single piece of lore detailing their creation. But I have a theory for that: We know they're often composed of memories of their past holders. I think its safe to say that soul gems don't just pop out of the wood. Someone of great power somewhere along the line creates them through their own power, infusing it with their memories and knowledge. Then they pass this on to a new person, most likely an apprentice or heir of sorts, that in turn repeats the process by adding their own memories. Fast forward several generations of these people and you can end up with your regular soul gem of the Black Mage or of the Ninja, attuned to that specific job thanks to the myriad of users that followed that particular doctrine and poured their beings into those gems, shaping them to be the objects that we see in the game. When I say it that way its practically 'Well duh' with how much sense it makes, right? But I don't claim to know this for a fact, that's just my theory based on what I saw. So how does that apply to my theory, well its simple really, these people who are not ascians and who do not have soul gems of their own, but have enough will and perhaps power in some form, could be the origins of new, 'virgin' soul gems. I say virgin in the sense that they're not 'Job soul gems' as they haven't been shaped by the many experiences of many users of a particular doctrine (Job). These soul gems would instead be the repository where the displaced soul would be housed, and their new home. From there, well there things get even more stretchy. See the ultimate part of this theory is the resurgence of these individuals following the loss of their original bodies, and once more borrowing from A-Towa-Cant's example, they could summon a large amount of aether to materialize from their point of origin (Soul gem for instance). In A-Towa-Cant's case, he disappeared after aiding the White Mage player. But what if the person chose to remain? To retain their form? And that's where this theory really dives into the unknown possibilities of existence. Using the soul gem as a nexus, I imagine the soul inhabiting it drawing aether from the land by the little sips--A little like Odin--basking in the excess of aether in a land like Eorzea, for instance, seeing as they have little alternative when having no form. But the moment they obtain enough, they might materialize themselves in a shape echoing their original body (Or another if they so choose. At this point it's probably as easy as imagining their original form). To retain that form they would then have to continue taking in aether, possibly at a greater rate than before, perhaps through the frequent consumption of crystals, similar to primals perhaps. Now this form doesn't come without its advantages. Because it is a form made of raw aether projected off a core and shaped into a physical being, physical afflictions would likely have no lasting effect on the person. Wounds could perhaps vanish in a flash of light as the body was reformed following the injury. This, of course, could at the same time impose a greater drain on the energy reserves that maintain the body in the first place, and with enough damage the body would simply 'dissipate', leaving behind the soul gem, where it would remain undisturbed, restarting the process to reform the body at a later date. At the same time that means that the soul gem is a weak spot. Any kind of damage that pierces the body and hits the soul gem would damage the body, and if the soul gem is destroyed (I've been told that they could be indestructable because we've never seen them be destroyed. Well we've never seen them being attacked either, I think, so it can go either way until proved otherwise) would naturally destroy the person in it. Their soul might survive, only to be scooped up into the lifestream as it should've been. Alternatively, the body could instead be 'created anew', of 'flesh and blood' as any other, with no advantages or weaknesses compared to what's described above. You know, just in case the above leads to 'OP alarms' sounding. Now finally I'll mention something I didn't talk about above. Its a little out of order, but its okay; So why regular deaths don't trigger this kind of 'event'. Well, a person dying of natural causes, or who is know to be dying, often comes to terms with their inevitable fate and accepts it. They might have a strong will, they might even have the echo or be a padjal (Ascians don't count in this example since they believe to be immortal by default apparently), that means that there is no resistance when it comes for their soul to return to the lifestream. They willingly follow the cycle. It's a lot "easier" for this process to happen to a situation where death is entirely unexpected, surprising really, or if the person is willingly and activelly doing this to themselves, because that 'will to survive' is the key to resisting the pull of the Lifestream. Anyway that's the whole thing. If you got this far, thank you for bearing with it all. Share your thoughts or comments on this concept if you'd like.
24. Designed by Reinard Ackerman, it started as an experiment on 'readily available spells', arcane equations and geometries imprinted on articles of clothing and readily available for use by an arcanist when a grimoire was unavailable. The idea evolved in time, however. As Reinard shifted his focus of battle from 'long range tactical support' to 'front line tactical strikes', a normal spell's cast time became an inconvenience. This provoked a new direction for the project, where upon the Arcanist Gloves were first conceived. It refers less to the gloves themselves and more to a process that when applied over handwear, will allow the user swift access to a small array of pre-determined spells. The process can be applied to standard gloves. The gloves themselves must have specific traits: For instance they can not restrict movement, on neither forearms or hands and fingers. They must have a minimal length of two ilms before the palm and they must cover the whole of the palm and back of the hand. It's also advised to use gloves with fingers, though fingerless gloves at times work as well so long there is a length of one ilm of cover over the fingers, from the knuckles. Completely fingerless (stopping on or just past the knuckles) will not do. Gauntlets or arm bracers are optional and for the most part, irrelevant. That said these gloves need not be gloves at all: They can be the glove end of a leather gauntlet that covers the whole arm, or even made of metal, so long as they don't restrict movement as mentioned. With a pair of gloves choosen, fine circuits are traced over their surface area in very specific patterns. This can be done either through engraving on hard surfaces or threading over soft. The important part is that the pattern is maintained, from the rear edge of the glove towards the tip of the fingers, or in case of fingerless gloves, some length towards the fingers, and that these imprints are done with aether conductive material such as enchanted ink-soaked threads or enchanted ink itself. At the fingertips or the finger edge of the gloves, 'connectors' will be installed, using of the same aether conductive material. The pattern themselves determine what spells the user will have at their disposal, for during combat the user will funnel their aether into their gloves, the aether will follow through the imprinted conduits and reach the connectors. This is called an 'activation sequence'. Alone each glove is useless, but by joining of the hands and linking the connectors together in a specific manner, a pair of sequences will form a full circuit, an aetherical equation. Depending on the spell desired, further equations are required, requiring additional activation sequences. Be mindful that the user can not just activate the gloves in any manner or pattern they desire. When completing the aetherical equation, a simple gesture of the user's preference will be enough to launch the spell. The user must be aware of the specific imprints on their gloves and full circuits formed by each active pair, as well as the complete aetherical equation they desire to form, and perform the proper connections at each activation sequence to reach the desired outcome. With training, an arcanist can swiftly produce a number of aetherical equations in a short amount of time and cast a spell from them, while retaining the freedom of use of their hands, allowing them to arm themselves with any weapon they desire. This design is not without its drawbacks however. Because of the imprinted nature of the 'aetheric conduits', a set of gloves, once made, can not be modified. Likewise the array of spells a set of gloves allows for is limited and decided upon the imprinting process, severely decreasing a spellcaster's versatility when using the gloves as opposed to a fully stocked grimoire or a mage's staff focus, as there are only so many combinations and patterns that can be safely imprinted on such a limited surface area. Curiously enough this design has one extra benefit that was not initially conceived. For individuals without the ability to channel and manipulate their aether, the gloves, when modified with the inclusion of ceruleum cells and a trigger linked to the aetheric conduits, allows for these individuals that are usually unable to conjure their own spells, to use the gloves as any other person would. This benefit has only been contemplated on and not actively tested, but the theory is solid. OOC Gibberish Area: Okay, translating all of what's written above into a 'long story short' version, is that these gloves provide the equivalent of non-ninja ninjutsu. As it happens my character started as an arcanist, yet I found myself playing ninja more than ever during its release. I didn't want to abandon the magic caster background and I didn't want to become a ninja, so I had him design these gloves which allow for the user to make some hand gestures while fueling aether through them, and cast spells as a result, allowing for ninja 'spellcasting' visuals in game, without being a ninja. This in no way makes one stronger or weaker than actual ninjas or other spellcasters, it's merely an alternative way to cast spells using ninja idea as a base. How strong or weak your spells, well that's up to you. In theory the same could be applied to other classes as well, but I didn't give it too much thought to those. The whole 'People unable to cast magic' part came up a bit later when I thought of how Garleans are supposedly unable to cast magic, but with this, and a ceruleum fuel cell which they're so good at making, they probably could! Of course they'd use up the ceruleum cell after X uses, but hey, still neat, and it opens the doors for those Garlean characters. Finally, while in the description I said that my character created it, well, I just did that so I had a point from where to start this description post. I'm not gonna be difficult about it and prevent others from using this idea for themselves, even on Balmung where I play. This is an item concept that it is openly offered to others. My little contribution if you will. Though, if you're on Balmung and you like this idea and you'd like to explore it by coming to my character about it, that'd make me happy. Always looking for new people to RP with and Reinard wouldn't have a problem with sharing this with others. We can make a plot out of it! A very small one, I guess, since in theory they're not that hard to make. Ok, enough ranting. Hope you like it.
