  1. Looks like gamestop is still claiming that, even though they have the full on SKU already, there's no way to preorder so you're kinda stuck until they actually have them in stock.. :frustrated: Going to try to talk to EB Games, I know a location out in Texas, though I'd have to have it shipped here in Idaho from my dad, I know both locations in this state are gone, so I'll have to resort to a location in Waco...
  2. just called gamestop they said they now have a price for the boxed one listed, but currently do not have a way to preorder it as they cannot pull anything from their site. As stated, they do have a SKU, however. They'd stated that, given square's track record it might have to be paid in full day of preorder, rather than like most other games. They're showing a listing of 150 for it, which, given the shipping costs I saw from SE's website, I'd still be saving about, what, 60 dollars for the same 8-10 shipping period bullshit? They even offered for me to pay an extra 10 dollars to have it shipped straight to my house within that 8-10 day period after release, so... my money might be going to a vendor, especially given the bonus prize of the cloth it comes with Hell, I still have that cloth from gamestop's release of ARR
  3. I can conferm from a square tech support worker that the physical CE is a square online store exclusive. No gamestop, no amazon. But the digital will be avalible from psn, steam (for steam versions of the game only), and regular venders with an update option added to the mog station later. This doesn't make sense according to this http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/224716-Is-the-Physical-CE-a-SE-store-exclusive?p=2837554&viewfull=1#post2837554 Thank you so very much for finding this  had me rightly scared, to be honest.
  4. Ok, so, I just got a call back from an NA gamestop employee trying to tell me physical CE is going to be an online SE store exclusive, can anyone confirm this... based on that forum post linked earlier it sounded like just a EU issue? I mean personally I'd like to have it day of and not have to pay an extra 86 dollars just to have it 8 - 10 days after the fact.
  5. Honestly, it's built up a bit of a stigma, though personally I guess I was more bothered about being judged in some respects, among a few other fears, but hey
  6. Suddenly, LOUD NOISES! Suppose I could share this as well....
  7. Well, thought I'd say my 'hello's here, been pressured to join this site for quite some time, and, well, would've given me something to do during the downtime between 1.0 and ARR. I started back during the beta of 1.0 through the Besaid server before the merge with Balmung. Have managed to build a somewhat fun RP history through this elongated timescale, though I will say I'm a little apprehensive towards joining here. More in the case of how some members may have given me a preconceived notion of this being a bit too... how would I say this properly.. stuff-shirt-like....? Eh, all in all I've been needing to build something here following in much the same path as a few of my friends. As far as game experience, well, ashamed to say I never played FFXI, and of course some of my experience moves more towards the free to play style games like Dream of Mirror Online, or rather, when Aeria still had its NA version up. Of course there's several others along the same line. For RPG's, typically battling it out between several Final Fantasy titles and various NIS titles, Disgaea included. I'm currently going to school towards a Game Art and Design degree, so of course anyone else near those majors would be more than thankful to potentially gain some contacts that way. Going to college via my G.I. Bill, had served in the U.S. Army as an IT Specialist for a good 4 years before a spinal injury that put me out. Annnnnd... hey, I'm 7 months along on HRT as an MTF. Quite a lot to cover, but thought I'd be up front, haha. --MMORPG background: dabbled in WoW, various Free to Play games, though been heavy into FFXIV, of course. --RP experience: Quite a lot, in all actuality, though had done a lot through GaiaOnline (I'm semi-ashamed to say) for well over a decade. From there, I guess I had done some in several games, but it's really stuck when it comes to FFXIV --Character ideas/info Keeper Miqo'te, Rose Radiuju. She and her twin sister are actually more or less, half and half, where Rose takes after more like their mother, Snow takes after their father in that she's more accepted as a Seeker. The two had been rescued as infants within the fall of ala mhigo, a common theme I hear, and had been raised out in La Noscea with their adopted Highlander father. Raised by an engineer, the two had a rather stern upbringing but... well, I imagine I'll leave the rest for an actual post --How did you learn about the coalition? Mostly through friends, had been dreading coming here, quite honestly... --What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? Heavy --Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc) Anything above of course there's always DoMO Rose....
  8. Well, all the same, got two to question the intentions here. Either way it's more of a chicken and the egg scenario where one has to question which could essentially be seen as the right answer in this case. For example, the Allagans originally devised these monstrous constructs, however, the Garleans used them, refer to them as Magitek, and develop new ways for them to work as they go through the methods of what could essentially be reverse engineering. Either way, both used them for the intent for global conquest, the past is repeating itself. Could easily be seen via the bonus dvd that came along with the CE of ARR <3 The timelines there alone really made for a fun read.
  9. See, that's the thing though, even in 1.0 we knew of members within the ranks of the garlean empire that were said to bring back the old allagan constructs, even going so far as to bring up Nael's lineage. This would suggest that, yes, you're right with the question originally stating that the one in question would be the Garlean empire, though there's a good bit of evidence, even from the original bits of information shared about the garlean empire that could easily suggest the allagan empire could also be a legitimate answer.
  10. A bit of column A, a bit of column B
  11. Wouldn't you think this question a little redundant given that Garlemald is simply following in the same footsteps as the Allagan empire? The magitek reapers being based on old allagan relics....? Just a thought and all. Granted this would go with a bit more current knowledge but, still. Personally the only real evil empire so far that I've seen is the allagan, given their use of a magic beyond our own, but hey, void based reliance aside.....
