  1. I've been around on this site for some time, just sort of poking my nose around here and there and finally I've really decided to come out and tell everyone, "Hi!" After a lot of deliberation and quiet warring with myself to give FFXIV another shot (a true shot), I'm back at the game again and ready to JUMP into the RP scene and really give it my best. If anyone is ever looking for good, lore abiding RP or in need of help with character building or anything of the sort: I'd be happy to help / RP. I look forward to seeing all of you in Eorzea and soon enough in Ishgard.
  2. One of the major appeals to Final Fantasy XIV is the simple fact that it (obviously) lends to the more classic titles of the IP, with obvious references and writing style lending to the more modern titles. However, with that said, it's no doubt that there's nothing sadder than playing a Final Fantasy game alone. I've recently come back to gaming altogether after a near three month break and the usual groups of people that I found myself running with have either moved on to their own things (which I'm more than happy to hear that they're all enjoying themselves) or sort of fell off the face of the Internet-planet, as it were. There's something that's drawing me to play FFXIV, even though I can't really make up my mind on -what- exactly I want to do at the given moment. Part of me wants to continue down the path of playing my character Varis as he currently is, another part of me wants to play the Ninja, and another part of me just wants to abandon ship and start completely fresh on a brand new character. But to get to my point without making this 5,000,000 paragraphs long of the same crap, I'm pretty much still a noob to FFXIV, a pretty good writer, and looking to make some new friends in the RPC. Anyone want to play?
  3. As someone who always, and I mean ALWAYS, researches fighting styles, techniques, weapon styles, weapon types, and the way weapons are forged throughout time - this thread brought a big smile to my face. I'm glad you took the time to carefully write all of this out and make it easier for people that don't delve so deep into things. In fact, going so far as to list the pro's and con's might even have had a positive effect on the RP Community, giving people insight on the advantages and disadvantages to their chosen weaponry. Thank you for writing this up. It's very handy.
  4. I hate to be -that- guy and necro an old thread, but I've really got to give a thank you to Sounsyy for the response in this thread. As someone who is new to FFXIV (just purchased my copy yesterday), this thread was exactly what I needed to get the full-throttle dive into what it is to be a Dragoon and to better understand their role, where they come from, how they work, etc. Thank you so very much.
