1. The Sandwalkers Recruitment Forum OOC Information Hello everyone! To be brief, the Sandwalkers are a Free Company dedicated to two things: Good progression for everyone, and Quality RP. Members of the company can expect to receive help when they need it, and are expected to return the favor so that everyone benefits from this gathering! We strive to keep everyone active with structured gameplay events like: Dungeon Nights (Running dungeons like Amdapor Keep, Pharos Sirius, Brayflox Longstop, and even level 15 dungeons like Copperbell mines.) Raiding Nights (For things like Binding Coil of Bahamut.) Crafting Parties (Where players can request items to be made, traded, or repaired.) Roleplay Events (RP Work for the Adventurer's Guild, IC Free Company meetings, etc) Other events could be organized by the members of the company, only the sky is the limit! It is worth noting that we will be focusing more on player progression and endgame more than most RP Free Companies would. Sandwalkers Contacts Linkshell The Sandwalkers Contacts linkshell is meant for friends of the Free Company or prospective members to use. Anyone can take one as long as they're not distruptive, and good members of the Linkshell can be invited directly to join the Free Company. The Linkshell is treated as IC, so ()'s or an equivalent are required if speaking OOCly. Edrigeant Pasteur leaves these pearls out in the Adventurer's Guild for people to take, so feel free to just /tell Edrigeant Pasteur or any member of the Free Company for one. IC Information The Sandwalkers are an adventurer's Free Company based out of Ul'Dah. Their primary goal is to carry out the work of an adventurer and simultaneously improve the standing of Ul'Dah and the Sultana. The Sandwalkers name the Monetarists, Garlean Empire, and Tempered Beastmen among their enemies. Adventurers from other city-states are welcome to join the Sandwalkers so long as they vow to uphold the Sandwalker creed. Men and Women of Ul'Dah and Eorzea alike, I bid you welcome to walk in the sand with us. Let your steel sing through the air, and let the mist of aether fill your lungs deep. This is a calling for Adventurers loyal to Ul'Dah and the Sultana to band together and work towards the betterment of our land and rightful ruler. As one of us you can expect to always have comrades to fight at your side or tend your wounds. You can expect to wander and work freely as you always have, but with the benefits of our company at your back. Do you wish to improve the lives of Ul'Dahns and Eorzeans while making a living of it? Contact Edrigeant Pasteur through one of the linkpearls in the jar below and ride with us to your destiny. (Found in the Ul'Dah adventurer's guild) Rules As a representative of the Free Company, you are expected to behave appropriately to other players. Offensive speak such as homophobic remarks, racial/ethnic slurs, etc are not permitted. Lorebreaking is not permitted, lorebending is heavily discouraged and really should not ever be done. Yours or anyone's ERP escapades if any are not to be discussed. Members must remain active within the Free Company at a reasonable level, anyone who is inactive for a long period of time without giving notice will be ejected from the Free Company.
2. Free Company Rules Recruitment Application Roleplay Policy Company Name: The Wandering Flames Server: Balmung Region: World Wide Language: English Motto: "Oschon guides us, Nald'Thal watches over us." or "Gods' wind, Gods' fire." The Wandering Flames are a Free Company rooted in the city-state of Ul'Dah. They exist as a company for adventurers to provide mutual support and comradery for one another. Through their dedicated use of teamwork they are more capable of taking on the riskier and more rewarding jobs provided by the adventurer's guild. Along with that, they assist the Immortal Flames in their duties, though citizens of any city-state may join. MISSION STATEMENT Create a healthy and active Free Company which is fully adherent to lore, striving to provide a seriously fun roleplay environment, and a place for players to really learn how to play and enjoy the game. FAQ Q: What are The Wandering Flames, what is their job title? A: Adventurers, nothing anymore complicated than that. Q: What do they do? A: Take up work from the Adventurer's Guild and Immortal Flames together. Q: That sounds 'generic', why make that choice? A: Being an adventurer is what the game itself is designed around. Since a big goal of ours is to do as much roleplay in an active and exciting setting (in actual combat, out of the city, etc) it makes the most sense and provides the most opportunity. Plus it allows us to RP and make progress at the same time. Q: You stress lore adherence, what do you mean by that? A: In this free company, we do not want to tread where we have no right to. Trying to utilize things that have not been proven true or fully explained, or things that have outright never been even implied destabilizes our standing in the reality of the game and weakens the experience overall. The goal is that our presence and activities do not go against any of the game world's truths.
3. [spoil][/spoil] Used my $3000 tablet for this one.
4. Request art. I will draw your character as poorly as possible. Here's just a taste. [spoil][/spoil]
5. As the devs explained it, he went back 10 years through the echo to the events just before the Silvertear incident. The party he fought the Morbol with actually existed at this time, and by way of echo logic; they had killed the Morbol and watched the Silvertear battle completely without the Hyur in reality. After coming out of the echo, he decided that he would seek out that party, which he successfully did, except for the female Elezen.
6. I like to keep a low risk of breaking lore, so my character is simply someone who grew up in Ul'Dah, and made the decision to become an adventurer.
7. The devs said that essentially, while time flows in the real world, it's been 1572 in Eorzea this entire time. Kind of like the endless staircase in Mario 64. My character had not been RP'd in 1.0, but I will still technically be aging him. He was 14 in 1572, and will be 19 in ARR. For those of you who are worried about the destruction of the city states... he did a poor job even before the reconstruction of certain places. Just a bit of... educated speculation. Your characters should be fine in the cities.

I. Basic Info Characters: Sieg Barzahd, Leon Heius Primary character: Seig Barzahd Linkshells: None Primary RP linkshell: None II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Heavy Views on RP combat and injuries: When it comes to RP combat, there's really no good way to do it without a PvP system. Unless the two combatants are completely on the same page, there's usually going to be negative reactions on one side, and the fight usually drags on forever. I plan on mostly avoiding physical confrontation against other players in RP until there is a PvP system. As far as injuries go, I prefer to avoid major injures, minor injuries are fine though. Views on IC romance: It's fine. As long as there is a clear distinction between OOC and IC. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): My character doesn't have any family members that I think would be good for another player to represent. It usually ends up with "oops my relative disappeared" Views on lore: I stay very strict to the lore when RP'ing both publicly and privately. I do not give my characters any background elements that fabricate fictitious (to the lore) groups or communities that would be noteworthy, yet seemingly don't exist. I do not credit my characters for the deeds done in in-game quest lines in public RP. I do not give my characters any special properties or abilities that have not been showcased as commonly performed by the people of Hydaelyn/Eorzea. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): /s can be used for public RP, /sh is generally something I wouldn't use for RP, /l Depends on the linkshell, /t can be used for close up whispering or private linkshell communication of some sort. All can be used OOC with ()'s III. Other Info Country: USA Timezone: Eastern Contact info: PM me [glow=blue]~Special announcements can be found in the posts below~[/glow]
