  1. .:UPDATE:. Due to personal reasons I allowed the Tribe LS to fall into a somewhat inactive state. Now that the majority of issues have been resolved I've had this topic pulled out of the archives and made active yet again. I've made a few small changes to the IC roster as well as the OOC information. Hope to hear from any interested parties in the near future. I plan to check back on this site frequently as well as be available in-game if that proves easier for people. Happy Hunting!
  2. I think a lot can be hand waved or overlooked when it comes to items like this in RP. Electricity appears to be present in places like the Golden Saucer, probably others but the Saucer itself comes immediately to mind. I can't recall if we've ever gotten an ingame explanation for devices and lighting like those, I'm not well versed in the esoteric. I don't think those who argue against technology in Eorzea have very good ground to stand on. We can't take much in the way of logic from our own world and apply it to a fantasy one. Of course there are some consistent things no matter where you go but I assume I'm not being misunderstood on my point. The subject of technology adapting in a fantasy setting makes me think back to a scene from the Legend of Korra where you see Lightning Benders supplying energy to what looks like a power plant. It makes me wonder if some similar facility exists anywhere in Eorzea where Thaumaturge or Lightning Crystals are gathered to help supply energy.
  3. That's a trope I've grown pretty tired of seeing as well. Not every tribe is going to be a happy-go-lucky fun farm but from the number of bitter Seekers out in the world you'd assume most tribes were just fronts for Garlean work camps.
  4. ^^^^^This^^^^ There was a joke tossed around IC when Khai's first kids were born that when they were old enough he would carry them on his shoulder and have them cast spells, effectively making the three a walking death machine. The very tired, unimpressed mate who had just given birth was not pleased with the thought. Terrible Dad times are best times.
  5. While playing a Nunh outside a traditional tribe structure is odd by what we know of lore it is not completely implausible. Just as the Xaela have their own quirks and oddities sprinkled throughout their tribes it is safe to assume the culture of each unique Seeker tribe (And their offshoots) is just as varied. With enough creativity anything is possible, within reason of course. As for the meat of the question I don't think its RP suicide to RP a character with the title. There will be people who knee jerk and shy away from a Nunh RPer but there are many others who will likely find it interesting or at the very worst not care about the Nunh status. Unquestionably there have been people who have soured the title and treated it as a fetish tool or just thought it out poorly but it has the potential to be so much more than people may give it credit for. My character as an example is far from how one would consider a traditional Nunh to be. Similar to yours he also more stumbled into the role than sought it out, and takes care not to introduce himself as a Nunh in most cases. In his eyes the title only has meaning to him and the people within his tribe, he does not want to lord around in public like its something to be in awe of. He treats his responsibility to his tribe with the utmost seriousness, which usually leads into bouts of paranoia of not being all he should be for them or that he may be leading them incorrectly. It's been an interesting dynamic for me having to balance N'khai's desire to be a "good" person/Nunh alongside what he sees as a distorted moral compass and upbringing. Rambling aside: I wouldn't shy away from tackling the challenge of RPing a Nunh. There will be people who will think the worst immediately but that shouldn't stop you from telling interesting stories and promoting a better image for Nunh RPers as you do so.
  6. -Sagolii Aldgoat- .: A Brief History:. While not being the main Aldgoat tribe, this formerly reclusive off-shoot tribe made quite the name for itself in the Eorzean underworld under the guidance of its former leader N'sef Nunh. Nearly eight cycles have passed since the Sagolii Aldgoat mysteriously went silent however, leaving much of their history to fade into rumours and urban legend. Some have speculated that the Nunh's paranoia finally grew to be too much and he completely sealed his tribe off from the outside world. Others believe the infamous tribe merely became more secretive in their work, though any who knew N'sef for his boastful nature find this hard to believe. The most common belief held between those who even think to still discuss the tribe say that they were all wiped out in a single night, decimated by one of the numerous enemies that had accumulated over the decades of activity. Whatever the truth of the matter may be, talk has begun to spread of a recent resurgence in Seekers bearing the tribe's name as well as their trademark golden eyes. Among these people has been spotted N'sef's youngest son, who has dropped Tia from his name and assumed the title N'khai Nunh. People are not sure what to make of this fact though of course they have used it to fuel any number of fresh rumours and stories about what could have happened during the tribe's lengthy hiatus. .:OOC Information:. The Aldgoat Linkshell has been active for over a year now on Balmung. It started off with primarily myself and a single friend, over the past year and a half however it has grown to house a number of people and diverse characters. Currently, the Tribe involves fifteen characters and twelve unique players. Our playerbase is made primarily of NA and EU players though we always strive to set times for our group events that allow us to involve as many people as possible. This group being a Linkshell as it is makes it so your membership to a Free Company will not restrict your ability to apply to and join. The in-game Linkshell is primarily used for in-character interactions with a Skype chat group used to discuss out-of-characters matters and arrange dates for events and meet-ups. A Discord server is likely to be created in the near future and become the primary OOC spot of contact for the Linkshell, outside of the game of course. As of Patch 3.3 the Linkshell has purchased a house in the Lavender Beds. Around this time the Sagolii Aldgoat has also extended into a Free Company. While it is not mandatory to join this Free Company members now have the option to have their own Private Room in the Aldgoat household if they so choose. Currently the house is being redecorated and is in a bit of a shabby state, this post will be updated when that fact has changed. If any have an interest in seeing the house in its current bare bones state the address is as follows: Plot 53, 11th Ward (Sub-division) .: List of Current Characters (As of October 2016) :. -Adults- N'khai Nunh N'kahli Sef N'zala Sef N'chacho Rana N'kara Shaihl N'lanhi Aqi N'raeya Thion N'khivva Nhys N'maia Kasmut N'pasht Rashaken N'mika Suraya N'jassa Suraya N'ymira Khai N'nessa Kasah -Children- N'hava Khai N'tem Tia N'tama Tia N'siraena Khai .:In Closing:. Thank you for taking the time to read through all of this post. If you have any interest at all in joining, asking questions or would just like to meet up and RP feel free to whisper any of the above characters. They will be able to help you or quickly put you in contact with someone who can. Until then. Oschon guide your path, and happy hunting.
