  1. In reality, "Early Access" means "Stress Tests" in corporate marketing speak. They secure your cash and get free stress testing to boot. I suspect you won't see this start to smooth out for at least a week from Tuesday. Very well. Thank you for the estimate. I shall resume attempts to enjoy the game at that point in time.
  2. So I am patched up to date, waited through the queue, and got roughly five minutes of game time before a windows error popup showed up and I was promptly removed from the game. I am a first time early access player (if that were not obvious by how I am writing this, much less that I'm writing it at all)......but how long does this behavior tend to persist? Weeks? I'm not upset, as I was warned well ahead of time that it would be unstable and generally chaotic. Just looking for a rough time estimate of how things went with ARR launch and HW launches. Loving the content thus far though for what little I did get of it. ^^
  3. My condolences, first of all. In accordance with measures Square Enix stated they would be putting in place, high population servers across the data centers are locked from even transferring into. This is (I believe) intended to rebalance servers and to avoid server crashes on those high population servers come stormblood's release. On the NA servers, that's of course, Balmung and Gilgamesh. In response to this, a large number of players have either migrated or made alt characters on smaller servers, to make new rp communities there. Mateus seems to be the forum here's decision on a singular server to play on. Smaller servers that have also seen some rp community development include Jenova, Faerie, and a few others. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/topics/detail/fee198ff2f37cd22f5b138f7672360440abe9651 See here for the read from the official source.
  4. The problem (s) have been addressed, and able to function through the site in full. Thank you Unnamed Mercenary, and ExAtomos. The issue had been with Last Pass, after all.
  5. In so far as I am aware, the only plugins opera is utilizing are lastpass and an adblocker extension. I don't know if those are relevant, and I have opted to disable both for the website in the hopes of replicating what Edge has accomplished where Opera has not Indications thus far is that opera isn't trying to force https. I can attempt to provide more information, though as to what might be useful/relevant, I'm not sure. Despite disabling lastpass, it issues a warning of a duplicate password. I have since changed the password and am in process of updating the archive, but log in attempts are still unsuccessful. Thank you for your swift response all the same (: EDIT: Updating the lastpass archive has granted me closer access, though for the remainder of my evening I am locked out on opera. I believe once I shuffle this through, it should be all good. Thank you for helping me through the process. (:
  6. As the title suggests, and perhaps it's just what's happened with the latest opera update, but I am no longer able to log in to the forums here using Opera. Logging into the rpc wiki site works just fine. I realize my preferred browser isn't supported fully very often, and I would doubt that that is the case here. I suppose what I'm wondering is if anyone else has had this issue. I suppose I should clarify what exactly it smacks me with. Log in as usual, correct information, yarda yarda. I receive the 403 forbidden error, refreshing provides naught but the same, sans the very occasional 400 bad request. Logging in on edge works fine, but I am hesitant to make this a daily routine of using two browsers for casual net surfing. TL;DR: My opera isn't playing nice with the site, would very much like a return to single browser usage and keep up with the site. Thank you for any and all responses, Sriracha Quilt
  7. From what I've seen about alternative servers, there are small communities on Sargatanas and I believe there was a budding community on Jenova. There are pocket communities on most servers in general, but from personal experience, those two might be your best bet to finding larger communities without having to wait until the odd hours of the morning for a 5 second opening.
  8. Hello. Small update from me. I'm on a bit of a hiatus while I deal with ugly real life problems. I don't estimate it'll be more than a week or two, but I'll try to post again if things don't improve before that estimate comes due. Apologies. I should still be reachable on skype though, should you need to get a hold of me, yus. ~Amh
  9. I've seen those as well. My own "status" for a lack of better word coming to mind never reflects that. Part of it, I think is an almost subconscious reluctance for fear of being "rejected", or just doing nothing but small talk, all in character, of course. At least, that's my perspective on why I never approach people while IC.
  10. Completing the quest "Close to Home" on any of the starts is required to do a world transfer, yus.
  11. Yay! Another fellow transferee from Levi~ = w= You'll feel right at home on Balmung, yus. ^^
  12. Amh thinks that no right-minded individual would leave a half of glass of water out, unfinished. Therefore, it is poisoned and must be done away with. She gift wraps it and has it delivered back to the wood wailer barracks. It must have come from there.
  13. Hello all. I do hope I'm not necro'ing the thread. If so, apologies. ;; I'm new to the ffxiv roleplaying community, though I'm a lifelong rp'er on other forums and games. I tend to use fantasias before I get acquainted with people, and stick to things as they are once people know me or my character, or both. When happening with other people, I usually take the "layman" approach to it, or that of a more simplistic approach that "people with pointy sticks" have. That is to say, just simply play it off IC and try to turn that into a bit of an interaction. Tragically, the servers I originally picked to play treat roleplaying as if it's a taboo, so I don't have as much experience with roleplaying in game as I would like to have, so the above is just my limited experience with it.
