I. Basic Info Character: Jedei Oronir Linkshells: Nothing yet! Would love to find one (or more). Either IC or OOC. Primary RP linkshell: Nothing yet! Looking for both RP & PvE orientated. II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Probably medium, but I try to be flexible. I might lean more towards the heavy side, but nothing is set in stone for me just yet. I suppose I am usually OOC when doing normal game stuff, but willing to drop into character at a moment's notice. Views on RP combat and injuries: Hopefully no loss of life or limb (literally!) I am rather new to RPing in general, so I am not entirely sure how players handle injuries. Seems to be a tricky subject in RP so I will have a hesitant stance towards this. Views on IC romance: IC Romance seems like a great way to enrich the experience and stories of characters. Can't say this is an OOC strength of mine, but I am not opposed to anything here as long as understanding is in place. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I would love to forge as many different, unique relations as possible. I am the introverted sort in OOC, so creating these is likely a very long and careful process. Views on lore: I'd love to stick to game and world lore as much as possible, leaving just a little room for bending or interpretation whenever needed. I have no idea how to incorporate the MSQ into the lore. I'd have to develop this position a little more, seeing how others handle it. I also have no idea on how to interpret game mechanics and features (fate grinding, job-switching, duty/boss mechanics, etc.) into the IC world. Still something I'd need to think about, and see how others interpret. I don't know all the lore, but I am always happy to research something, or receive instruction/advice from others. Always something more to learn. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): As I am rather new to RP, I would have to wait and see. However, I'd imagine most RP is handled via /say and /emote. If shells and companies use their chat functions for RP, then that is great too! But whatever gets the RP underway is fine by me III. Hello everyone, I'm a recent transfer to Balmung. I'm hoping to get into roleplaying, as I know it will be a memorable, imaginative, and lively experience. I can't wait to meet new people and make friends. I am hideously shy though, so it will take some time For a bit of brief background, I've been playing MMOs off and on since 2003 or so, starting with EQ and EQOA. I've spent enormous amounts of time on FFXI, a little on WoW, and trying out other games. I find that I am drawn to the FF universe among others. I do not, however, have a whole lot of experience with roleplaying. I did try a little back in EQ and EQOA, but that was nearly a decade ago. I can't say I am good, but I hope to improve, and have fun and make connections while doing so. I like PvE and PvP, but I also need a little something more, so I think that is why I am here. I am a little curious as to seeing how PvE, particularly the higher-end challenging stuff, merges with roleplaying and the community behind it. I am not sure what sort of style of RP I would be best suited for. Maybe medium? I will have to wait and see. I plan to lurk a little bit and get cozy with things. I am focusing on my beloved Xaela, Jedei of clan Oronir. I plan on sticking to this for a while, if just for continuity and personal attachment to this particular character (and the Basic subscription >.> ). Still doing character development, so I am a little worried about diving right in to alignments and allegiances, but I am sure this will all come in time. Thanks for reading everyone!
