Aw man, I'm right there with you, Oroban! 1. I never take advantage of finding walk-up RPers because I don't want them to think I'm too forward...by walking up and attempting to RP with them. Not even getting into my many, many weird characters and quirks and interests--just walking up and saying anything strikes me as too invasive to attempt. Similarly, 2., I rarely respond in-character to anything in game because my main Miqo'te is...kind of an idiot...and I'm quite self-conscious about people thinking that of ME before they realize it's just him. 3. I would hunt all day for someone open to ERP, because I am confident in my abilities to stay classy and hold someone's attention with articulate and well-written smutty plot, but when it comes down to it, poor writing is a huge turnoff, and it appears my standards are too high. Still, I search...*wistful sigh* 4. Perhaps the worst of all--right now I just search and stalk in-character Tumblr pages looking for people who want RP partners, and I never, not once, have asked any of them for a chance. (Even though they look like they enjoy the same styles and themes as I do!) Sounds like crippling shyness is the major failing of a lot of us here. You're all welcome to come bother me! I. Basic Info Characters: C'ero Tia: The naive, slightly simple summoner whose powers startle him nearly every time they manifest, and who relies on his carbuncles to remind him to do things like wear armor into battle. Ahzmodai Altangadas: An Auri knight who has fallen from grace, and doesn't miss it much. Mhatya'ra Moui: A warrior priest of Menphina, he loves fighting and loving, appropriately enough. He is a very good, ahem, dancer. Sesshoku Harukana: The Raen refugee who has come to Ul'dah and joined the Spice Gate in an attempt to get himself financially back on his feet. Is regrettably so short and petite that he is often mistaken for an Auri maiden. Primary character: C'ero, then Ahzmodai, then Sesshoku. The others are works in progress. Linkshells:None at present! RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): With someone who writes well, I enjoy a wide variety of styles, ranging from "*casually eyes the mysterious stranger* Good evening, friend..." to "The scruffy nerf herder raised a brow at the old man. "You said use the WHAT now?" and up from there. I enjoy the full spectrum of ratings for RP as well, from light fluffy derping around to serious drama to [content blurred]. Views on RP combat and injuries: There's a reason car chases don't happen in books much. That being said, well-written actions are fine, and injuries can be an important part of story progression, so I am unbothered by any horrible wound or emotional drama that may happen. It probably will not end up being canon for my characters' stories that they end up with vicious scars or anything, but I do love a good AU maiming as much as the rest of you. Views on IC romance: BRING IT. None of my characters are anything but canonically single, but that doesn't mean we can't throw down an AU in which all of that gets rewritten. I enjoy writing fluff as much as I enjoy writing raunchy smut. I have characters that wouldn't dick around without romance involved, and I have (more than a few) characters who do not need deep ties to bone/get boned. Most of them DO work in a brothel, after all.... Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Also good! Friendly RP between friends is excellent! Friendly RP between enemies is sometimes even better! X3 I don't have characters who keep in touch with their families, but again, I do love a good AU, and there's no end to the schenanigans you can get up to in an AU. Maybe our characters turn out to be cousins, somehow. Views on lore: I like to incorporated it into my stories, but obviously not every single part can be canon for everyone. I'm flexible. I also love AU RPs, in which lore need not play any part whatsoever. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): A linkshell is fine, although I am not on any yet. Really, no preference. III. Another cat looking for some RP action! ^^ I've been playing FFXIV for less than a year, but I'm an avid RPer on FFXIV, phones, chat programs, forums, tabletop you name it. I know better than to overuse adverbs and I proofread before I post. *wink* I'm putting my name out there as someone that anyone can approach to get some RP started, in-game or out, because man, I miss it! Also, because I am hella shy to start stuff on my own. I have a Miqo'te summoner who could use some friends to run around with. He's short, sweet, gayer than gay but loving towards anyone, frequently getting into trouble ( entirely on accident), and very accident-prone. Kind of like that cat we all know, who runs out rub on your shins when you walk by, then gets so into getting pet that it flops on the ground and accidentally rolls off the curb. Yeah, kind of like that. So yes. C'ero: a naive little dope who works part time as a courtesan in The Spice Gate (a house of impeccable class and expensive taste, specializing in both tea and gorgeous bodies) and spends the rest of his time adventuring and running desperately away from birds, who all seem to hate him, down to the last feather. Come be his friend, or at least come distract him for an evening. <3
