Welcome! I'm fairly new myself, and at least for me, it's highly encouraging to see new people showing up all the time. Really makes me excited about the state of the community. Hopefully you enjoy yourself as much as I have, thus far!

Another bump/reminder that Im still looking! For any I haven't gotten into contact with, unfortunately Final Fantasy is annoying with friend requests. I've tried to add everyone on this list, but it seems our playtimes have yet to coincide.

[align=center]Hey everyone![/align] So, to cut straight to the chase, I'm almost entirely new to Final Fantasy as a whole, let alone the RP community of FFXIV. I've loved every minute of my time here so far, but I'd really love to get involved with the RP and get back into a living, breathing world in which I can really flesh out my character. MMO's are only half as fun if I don't RP in them, in my experience. So, as for the things I'd be looking for... jeez, where do I even begin? I think a good place to start would be by saying that I do not like scripting my rps. I really can't stress that enough, I hate going into an RP already knowing everything that will happen. What I very, very much prefer, however, is a 'baseline' idea, so to speak. For example, if we wanted to see how our characters would get on as friends, we could know that's what we wanted to see, but stop the planning there, and simply have them meet somewhere. We could talk about an encounter, where it would happen, that sort of thing, but the RP itself I would very much love to simply have happen of it's own accord. Specifically, I suppose for the long term... the things I'd really love to see my character eventually get involved in... Friendships/Acquaintances: As a brand new player in FF, as well as being totally new to this community of RPers, this is my first and foremost goal. I need connections if I'm ever to have a hope of RPing, after all. This category includes everything from a chance meeting in a bar, to a gradual bond that grows into a deep friendship, in which the characters can truly confide anything and everything in one another. Likewise, even singular meetings, to add more faces to my character's memory would be appreciated! Even those vague acquaintances make for a more vast and detailed RP world in which to live. Not everybody will know everyone else inside and out, after all! Romance/Relationship: Not everybody is interested in this, but I am certainly not one of those people. I absolutely love romantic, intimate RP. It is one of my favorite ways to develop a character. Now, even having said that, this is NEVER something I will script. Ever. If it's the sort of thing you're interested in, sure it can be discussed, but I will never force or be forced into a romance. If the characters click, perhaps there's a chance for it to happen, given time, but that's really all I can offer off the bat. Adversaries/Rivals/Enemies: Nobody makes friends with every single person they meet! Theres a chance in any new meeting that the characters won't click at all, and that is totally fine! Frankly, I love having at least a few PC's that don't get on with my own. It opens up some great RP scenarios, be it tense meetings, venomous exchanges, or even simple situations like a pair of 'frienemies' that are constantly trying to 'one-up' eachother. If this is the sort of thing you might expect with our characters, I'd be more than happy to hear about that possibility, as well. Work/Contracts/Employers: Wolkan is a sellsword. Burly, strong, and gruff, he is the ideal choice for much needed muscle, if a job calls for it. But of course, what good is a mercenary without employers to provide him with work? If you have work for someone like him, I would be more than happy to hear about it! This type of RP is the exception to a little bit of scripting, the reason being, if I personally don't find interest in the job-of-note, it would be very easy to simply say that when arranging the meeting, Wolkan informed the employer that he wasn't interested. However, if you would simply like the exchange, regardless, I am still open to that, as well! If I took the time, I'm sure I could think of more types of RP I'd like to find myself/my character in, but for now, that should about sum up the sort of thing I'm looking for. I'm about to write up an actual profile for Wolkan, so when I have finished that, I'll link it here for anyone who would like to take a look. I. Basic Info Characters: Wolkan Lodall Primary character: Wolkan Lodall Linkshells: None as of yet. Primary RP Linkshell: None as of yet. [*] II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium - Heavy, varies based on mood of RP/context therein. Views on RP combat and injuries: PvP combat is acceptable, though I would very much prefer to get to know the player of a character any of mine would potentially be fighting. RP combat is an extremely touchy activity that leaves much up to debate. If I'm not comfortable with the person I'm doing it with, I will more than likely not enjoy the fight. Regarding injuries, however, anything and everything goes, save for death. My characters could be on the brink, but I refuse to accept death without having good reason, and ample time to consider it. That said, if the situation really calls for it, I am not fully opposed. Views on IC romance: Love it. Absolutely love it. Some of the most impactful RP I have ever had has stemmed from romance and relationship development. It truly brings out the best and worst in all involved, if done right. However, and this goes for both standard romance and full ERP, I refuse to involve myself in it without good reason, similar to combat. There needs to be proper development between characters, a proper context in which it is plausible to come about. I will never, ever simply jump into that style of RP because 'lolwhynot'. It is very serious, and very deep, and I will not dampen the power of that RP with cheap flings. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): As far as I can tell, this seems to me like all RP that isn't romantic or combat based, so... of course! Anything that my character would plausibly be involved with is fair game, and I'm completely interested. Views on lore: Love what I've seen/read so far, but I am very new to this world, and still have a lot to learn. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Uh... sure? Hallo everybody! So, the title pretty much says it all. I've been playing FFXIV for a little over a month now, but only just got into Balmung in the past week or two. I've been wanting to RP in FF since a good friend of mine gave me the game, but ever since I arrived in Balmung... there's just so many people! I have no idea where to even begin looking for RP. Everywhere I look it feels like there are more and more RPers, and frankly, it gets a little overwhelming. I find myself often retreating to more questing and leveling, truly not knowing what or where to start my adventures in RP. I guess I should say a little bit about myself, huh? Yeah, probably a good plan. My name is Cirinian, or at least, that would be the handle most people know me as, though my character name is Wolkan Lodall. I have been rping for... seven some odd years now, give or take, and have done everything from MMO RP, to chat room RP, to forum RP, to simple 1x1 situations in things like Skype or Yahoo Messenger. I've been a fan of reading and writing for as long as I can remember, and back when I was... well, younger than I am now (Eighteen is hardly all growed up ), when I learned that there was an amazing activity known as roleplaying, I was over the moon. Outside of RP, I am an avid PC gamer, with interests ranging from MOBAS to MMOS to FPS's. Pretty much any genre you can think of, I've played at some point or another. I enjoy swimming a great deal when I am not locked in my room glued to my screen, and have actually gone through all of the necessary training to be a lifeguard! I am a huge fan of DnD (Dungeons and Dragons) as well, though unfortunately have never had the joy of joining an actual game or campaign. Nobody that I know outside of online situations is into the tabletop worlds like that one, and so I am often stuck alone, reading up on various rulebooks and adventures, with nobody to play them with. Sadface. Anywho, that's enough of my babbling introduction, I do believe. If you want to get to know me better, or just... say hi, really, I'd be happy to talk with anyone and everyone.
