1. He leaves Ishgard 8/10 times, he's often in Ul'dah or Limsa.
2. Happy belated Easter to everyone reading this! I hope everyone's Easter was a nice one and that you stuffed yourself with a lot of good food. With Spring approaching I'm looking for people to advance and continue my character's story. The character is question is my Sharlayan-in-exile who's currently living in Ishgard: Leon. Story wise I've had him as a moody, temperamental Mage from the Old World who's obsessed with magic(k) and it's broader acceptance in Eorzea. After some recent RPs he's been reality-slapped to the conflicting and hypocritical goal of trying to get people to love magic, yet then threatening them with it when things don't go his way. This has caused him to go into a depressive state of self-contemplation and melancholy. For character dynamics I am looking for long-term RP partners who can help make Leon into a better person and same time appreciate his love of the mystical and magical. I am looking particularly for long-term friends, who can help shape him and even perhaps a romance option. For friends I'm more open about, the character in question just needs to be willing to deal with a moody magician and reality-slap him when needed. For romance options the preference is a male character, of the Hyur, Elezen or Au-Ra races who, like the friend can deal with a moody magician. Character wise Leon deeply admires Ishgardian Dragoons and Knights, despite disagreeing with them. He's also fascinated by Domans and their ancient culture. It may help if your character's one of those though they definitely don't need to be! Thanks for reading this and have a great day or evening! Cheers from Cactuar! :cactuar:
3. Thank you for the responses! The energy in the replies, especially "Fanatical Mage" and a Hearer, a Magitek specialist and all the rest - WHERE HAVE YOU PEOPLE BEEN IN MY RP LIFE?!
4. Yessen makes a very good point. Learning White Magic is not impossible, as one RPer mentioned to me a while back, one would imagine after the Seventh Umbral Calamity the need for White Magi to heal the land increased, forcing the Padjal to teach non-Padjal. Of course this is debatable but it is also reasonable to assume with the damage Bahamut did to Eorzea and certainly it's Elemental denizens. The "Amdapori Way" as I call it (nefarious White Magic) is, as Yssen mentioned theorycrafting at best, though the logic could be drawn from other inspiration sources. I like to consider White Magi as Shamans, so, what about a Dark Shaman-esque archetype (Warcraft reference)? It can be speculated rather than working with the Elementals, you could force your will upon them and drain aether without consent from nature to fuel your spells (Similar to Defilers from Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Sun.) That's strictly theory though and someone could either agree or rebuttal the idea. If you want to RP a White Mage, I say - do it, ultimately you pay the money for subscription to enjoy the game, and if you can forge a realistic reason for encountering White Magic (like the journey to GET said White Magic) then by all means: whip out those Holy and Assize spells! Just be mindful of the IC ramifications of it, like Gridanians hating you, and perhaps even fanboys/fangirls wanting to follow in your footsteps.
5. I would like to join, if someone could message me in game at Leon Azarias.
6. Salutations and warm wishes! After sitting in Ul'dah for a few weeks I noticed there has been a distinct lack of magickal-related characters. (You have your noblemen, noblewomen, courtesans and the like - but where's the wizards and sorcerers!? :?) so I figured I'd post on the forums again to try and find fellow Mage nerds and make connections to friends and RPCs who like magick, magitek or something beyond the normal sword and spear! Any of the magick classes/jobs welcome! A bit about the character who I'm making connections to: - He is Sharlayan, born and raised in the motherland of the Old World, knowledge and magick are more precious than gold. - A "mage nerd" who is interested in all things magickal or supernatural and loves meeting people of similar interests (magitek, magick or even a regular scholar). - He's a fairly laid back character who likes to learn everything about everything if he can. He can be distant and cold though if you catch his interest, you are just as likely to have a new friend. Particularly if you're equally or even more experienced in something than he is. Those are the tips I can give as to the character, if you RP a Sharlayan you may even have more story and perhaps know of him already. But thank you for reading this far and I hope to be able to meet some Mage buddies, the nerds needs to unite! 8-)
7. Sign me up on this! Balmung needs more Magi and if you like magick RP add Leon Azarias as we are now bros!
8. Disclaimer: I thought the title would be funny! As of lately I do not know why but ever since an RP in The Quicksand my lovely little Miqo'te nerd: Leon has become attracted towards Elezen males. However long I loiter in Ul'dah though I find they're increasingly rare to come by! Leon is my Sharlayan Archmage who finds all things magickal and mystical absolutely fascinating, if any Elezen want to nerd out with him and have Mage discussions be my guest! He can often be seen in Ul'dah, the Dravanian Hinterlands or Mor Dhona.
