I've spent some time investigating other RP servers out of curiosity, seeing as RP definitely has enough popularity to grow to other servers outside Balmung. I haven't experienced Jenova's RP scene yet, but I did find Siren's some months ago. There was a fun and very welcoming group in what I do believe is the Siren Roleplayers linkshell listed in the linkshell hall here. Behemoth also has a good group of friendly and cool people that were easy to find through linkshell. The queues felt a little slower there, since it's Primal instead of Aether data server, but nothing unmanageable. I've heard good things about Jenova too, and they're next on my list, but I'm afraid I can't compare from personal experience yet. Balmung does have great diversity and a fun open world RP scene, but the tight-knit and personal feel of the growing communities is something I find enjoyable, myself. There is a lot of talent on the smaller servers, and I doubt you'll find yourself wanting for RP opportunities no matter which you choose.

I made an account here just to find this thread and say thank you. I had a blast. Everyone was nice and friendly and helpful, and so willing to interact! Great RP, great planning, great events, great time. It felt like a bonding experience with the roleplaying community. I know it took a lot of work, and I just wanna say how much I appreciate it. Y'all are wonderful.

Hey there! I know this is a late reply, but better than never, I hope. I'm rather new to the RP scene here, myself, and I take it by the lack of responses that Phoenix doesn't have a super active community. But if you'd like someone to keep you company and maybe get a fix until you can make it to Balmung, let me know.

Hello, Eorzea! I've been playing this game for a little while now. I have dove (have diven?) headfirst into the lore, and while I am new to roleplaying in an MMO setting, I'd love to break into the RP world. I see that elsewhere, expression of this desire tends to be met with advice to buy a transfer to the legendary Balmung. However, rusty of skill and clumsy of word as I may be, I would like to offer what rust and fumbles I can to the smaller, aspiring RP communities on the less famous servers, and hopefully help them to grow and thrive. I've seen scatterings of messages from all over, so I'm not completely sure where to start. But I have come into an unexpected abundance of free time, and I have no aversion (perhaps even a small addiction) to making new characters. I have a few ideas bouncing around in my head already, but if anyone has a group that could use a certain kind of character added to it, or just any character at all, I would love to discuss possibilities. Thank you all for being an excellent community, and don't hesitate to contact me, here or in-game. I'll list character names/servers in my signature as they are made.
