Hello Hello! I've been hunting for RP, for a long, long time. People have made promises, even made a little cluster of people. But unfortunately nobody ever got around to RPing with me. As the title suggests, I am on Phoenix. And it is a massive gamble, I'm just praying to find someone to RP with at this point! Background on my RP experience I've been RPing for years now. Altogether 10 years, but the first few I was young, bad at grammar, spelling, etc. But I've RP'd on every major MMO bar Guild Wars 2 and ESO. SWTOR, LOTRO, WoW (I was even part of one of the larger wow RP private servers) and I think I am a fairly experienced and decent Roleplayer in general. I write books and stories in my downtime, so my grammar and language is (probably ok, excuse this post if it's wrong. It's late.) Who will I be RPing? As the title suggests, I will be RPing a female Roegadyn by the name of Kalwyn Thorn (In-game name is the same). A Light-hearted Mercenary, loving the feel of heavy armour and a sword in hand. She often goes on many an adventure, but her primary resting places are the Goblet (Where her mercenary group resides) and a small village north of Camp Drybone (The Golden Bazaar). But I am incredibly (I'd say indefinitely) flexible. She's a traveller at heart and I'll always make it work for the RP. Final Addendum I do have a house, in the Goblet. It is only a small plot, and currently somewhat unfurnished (But I do have the plans/items ready for it) and I'm sure once I get in contact with RPers, I'll have it furnished in no time. It might see some actual use for once! As far as time goes, I'm very flexible on that as well, over the next few days (the 2nd of June) I'll be moving house, but bar that.. Nothing.. For months! I live in England, so GMT would be my timezone, but morning, noon, night, I'm around at wacky times, or regimented times if required! Both weekends and weekdays, too. Hello! My character's name is Nexus Dorma, and I'm on the Adamantoise server of FFXIV. I'm looking to get plugged into an RP community either on the Adamantoise server or possibly switching servers where I'm able to establish a good connection with other RP'ers. Just a little bit about myself: I currently play FFXIV regularly, and I've been apart of RP groups (on and off) for 10 years now. I'm an avid gamer and like all play styles to include end-game content, leveling, mentoring, and (of course) roleplaying. Final Fantasy has been a part of my gaming experience since FFX first came out, and I love to create new storylines based on the lore. I write in my free-time, and I'm working on writing a few novels for the future. I also draw and love building new friendships. A little about my character: Nexus is a M Sea Wolf Roegadyn. Although, current backstory is tbd, I'm looking to start his origins as gladiator/convict/pit fighter. What I'm looking for: Just reaching out to see what's out there. I had an idea of starting to start and RP-linkshell as well as a IC bar/restaurant on Adamantoise, but that's not looking to great right now :lol:. So, the next goal is to get connected with some like-minded individuals who are interested in RP-ing either on the Adamantoise server or another server. I'm willing to transfer servers, but I'd like to meet the group and get connected first. Trying to find either a group or individual to start rping with on a regular basis! RP Style: I mostly dabble in heavy-plot, integrity based RP that allows for character growth. Hi. As the title suggests, I'm looking for a mentor for my character, someone who is proficient with an axe, a Marauder or Warrior for example, as I'd like her to start using axes and have an RP friendly way of making the transition. Also, I think it could be fun to add someone new to our small group of about 6-7 active RPers. I'm currently on Cerberus with a group of about 6 friends, but sadly none of them are Marauders, Warriors or have any real skill with an axe. This is what prompted my search for a mentor, to not only skill up my character in an RP friendly way but also potentially add a new face and a new character to our group. So I’m giving this forum a shot. I’m like… incredibly shy and have trouble approaching people, so it’s easier for me to make a post and have others come to me. Sorry if this means clogging up the board with more threads! ;u; I’m Nama, and I’ve been RPing for years. While most of it has been original content, I decided to dip into XIV RP, if only because it’s honestly been a while since I’ve role-played much of anything. I miss it. I got my start in forum RP and am used to long form/paragraph style as opposed to chat. Considering neither of my characters are on Balmung or Mateus, that probably wouldn’t be possible anyway, haha. So! I’m looking for people who wouldn’t mind long form RP, either on Discord or in Google Docs or something. Keep in mind our characters would likely never be able to meet in game, so I hope that’s not too much of a deterrent! But enough about me. I have two characters to offer. Both have other iterations in things like D&D (because I like recycling characters into different settings), and these would be their XIV counterparts. ----- The main one is Saskia Auberlaint. She’s a Duskwight Elezen, though not from the caves and forests of Gridania as most would associate the clan. She grew up in an isolated society of Duskwights closer to the Coerthas/Ishgard region, having dealt with the cold and dragons alike. In her community, her family was considered nobility, and so she was afforded many privileges. Saskia grew up literate, well-spoken, and tutored… but she wasn’t quite the heir her family wanted. She was naive to a fault and couldn’t contend with the political game that was necessary for someone of her status (not to mention she was terrible at magic), and so eventually she was disowned in favor of her sister, Magdalena. Luckily for her, Saskia had always been curious about the outside world, and though her life as she knew it changed overnight, it ended up becoming a blessing in disguise. Now she spends her time and gil traveling the world, seeing the things that her clan would’ve never wanted her to. She supports herself through odd jobs (or rather Carbuncle does) and the kindness of strangers, scraping together what little she can to survive. She hasn’t seen all of Eorzea yet, but that’s just more for her bucket list! For the most part, she’s very bubbly and positive. Even when bummed out, she still tries to look on the bright side. However, Saskia has no idea when people try to manipulate her and she’s incredibly gullible. The only reason she hasn’t gotten into trouble yet is because Carbuncle is there to rescue her. She takes everything at face value, even the most fake of crocodile tears. Looking for: > traveling buddies > shenanigans > friends > someone to teach her some common sense lol > maybe a proper summoning mentor? > polar opposites (like a rough-and-tough pirate to contrast her proper ladyship, for example) I’m not looking for romance for her right now, though I wouldn’t be against it at all if it happened naturally! She’s the type that’ll throw herself fully into new things, especially if they pique her interest in history. Sassy doesn’t have a permanent place to call home, so she needs people that won’t tie her down. Someday, Saskia might want to actually go back to her family, though how they'd accept her, she doesn't know. ---- My alt is Levenin Refure. A Hyur Midlander with blood ties to Yanxia, he grew up fighting anxiety throughout his entire childhood. His self esteem is in the pits, to say the least. Compared to “normal” people, he lamented being different, wondering why others didn’t shake and stutter like he did. He felt broken. Perhaps that was why he was drawn to becoming a doctor of some kind— to help others never feel the way he did. The only catch was he had no outstanding talents for much of anything. He studied in his mother’s field of expertise— alchemy— but one thing after another tore him down until he made the choice to return home with nothing to show for it. Lev simply couldn’t deal; his brain continually fought with itself day after day. The shame of failure was unbearable. He left home again, though maybe it was more fleeing. However, this did lead to a fateful second journey that eventually brought him to Coerthas. It was here he learned of astromancy and subsequently devoted his talents to becoming an astrologian. Maybe he wasn’t a prodigy, but for once Lev felt like he could do something right. He now spends his days traveling where needed to help those who ask. He supports himself through clients, and has served as a healer for many merchant caravans, expeditions, soldiers, and refugees all over Eorzea. Lev is very polite and quiet. There’s no hidden wild side just waiting to be unleashed. He tries to keep to himself as much as possible, and is constantly thinking about what he says or does. However, if you get past the impenetrable Wall of Jericho that is his social anxiety, he becomes the kind of person who won’t judge you and is always genuinely concerned for your plight. There's an open book in there somewhere. He’s also a hopeless romantic, but is much too shy and self loathing to hold onto anyone for long. Plus, the nature of his job makes it difficult. But ask a few Miqo’te girls he’s worked with in the past and they’ll tell you he has a weakness for felines, WINK. I just transferred over to Goblin from Balmung because I was fed up with the qeues on that server. I wanted to reach out and try to make Goblin a RP server considering it very well could be if people pushed it that way. Its a preferred server and I am hoping to make connections to people that want to RP as well. I am working my way up to getting a mansion and building a grand company for casual people, people that like to RP , and people that want to raid. All and all, I just hope to make Goblin the next rising RP server that people want to be part of.

This is me dipping my toe into the RP community on FFXIV.:blush: Yes, I am fully aware that there are servers more known for their RP- but I had the unfortunate fate of joining the game much much later and thus there is no space on balmung and others for me T_T. Originally I'm from diablos, joining an Fc which eventually dissolved from lack of activity, this made me make an alt on Excaliber. Still As I worked through the MSQ I eventually worked up the courage to make an alt purely for RP on Siren. Whilst I'm not apposed to RPing on Excaliber if anyone here is from there- I figure I should list what characters I was interested on going on grand adventures with like minded roleplayers. It's hard making a profile right now, I'd really like to shadow my fellow rp'rs and see how they make their way in the grand narrative of Eorzea's story. I've got a skeleton plot for Mayu and wokring on refining Shion as well for the community. I'm open to critic and suggestions, I'd also just love some conversation beyond simple raid tactics with my normal Fc's. I'm mostly just hoping by reaching out I can find what few like minded people exist on the servers I exist in. Again, I know I'm sorry... but being a poor student I just can't pay to migrate my characters- especially at the expense of leaving such good friends I did make behind^^; For now I'm just haunting the character creation window between 2-3am hoping by some dumb luck a space might open someday for me on one of the main RP servers. I'm very interested in roleplays that try and incorperate the lore of the games world, it's just so rich and intricate, I'm often taking screenshots and recording dungeons just to collect information from the setting. I'm a huge horror and mystery buff- hence why a lot of character start in Gridania! I'm also open to rping on other forms of media and here in the fourms if such a thing is available. Hey all! I know Excalibur isn't exactly the main unofficial RP server, as it seems Maetus is taking that title. But if anyone is on Excalibur and would like RP let me know! I am knew to rping in game, but excited to give it a try! Won't know if I like it till I give it a shot. But I have years worth of experience RPing on forums. In that regard I tend to write medium to long posts depending on how I am feeling that day. Anyways I'll leave you with some info about my main character! There is always a black sheep in ones family and Yifah fits that title well. Born in the Shroud, she is the middle child of five in a close knit family that live not to far out from Gridania. Though primarily raised by her mother and aunts, Yifah made a somewhat unconventional bond with her father who was rarely home. But whenever he did return and was allowed to stay, he would tell stories of his hunts and great adventures and that sparked something in the reserved Miqo'te, much to the dismay of her mother. A curious soul she took to observing anything and everything, a trait the would benefit her in her future endeavors. To most she is seen as being reserved and observant, but none the less curious, not wanting to get involved. But life is never that easy and as an arcanist she very rarely has to be alone. Carbunkles are good company in her book. But because of her more lone wolf persona, she has trouble asking for help when she needs it. Not to mention her blunt and straight forward way of speaking tends to turn people off or hurts feelings, which she never really intends to do. And trouble tends to follow you when you become a adventurer, though she doesn't really consider that her title. She is scientist first, an observer of nature and then adventurer. But lately the two have become more and more intermingled, as she needs to make a living for herself. Having left home at the age of 18, she now travels about much like her father seeking that same adventure he talked about when she was a child and on a couple of occasions has crossed paths with him, swapping stories and catching up. Their relationship is rather unconventional, but they make it work. Her life choices have lead her away from her family in the Shroud, but whenever she is close she pays them a visit and deals with the constant begging of her mother and aunts to just come home where she will be safe. But that life isn't for Yifah and at 24 she wants to see what else the world holds for her. Get into some trouble inevitably and have a few more adventures for herself to tell to someone else one day. There is a lot left still to see. Other Info: Yifah and her family hail from the Keeper of the Moon clan. Raised in Shroud and Gridania, but currently resides in Limsa Lominsa, which has become a second home to her. Has kept in relatively good touch with her older brothers as they have ventured out as well. She and her mom do not see eye to eye, at all. But Yifah loves her regardless. ((OOC: And that's Yifah Jonmu! Like I said above i am currently on Excalibur and can't really switch servers at the moment. But perhaps one day. But even still if their are any strict forun RPs I would love to get involved. And if your on Excalibur hit me up in game or send me a PM here. Yifah could use a traveling companion or friend, even if she is slow to admit that. Really if you have an idea let me know. Maybe we can figure something out.)

Just wondering if there are any RPers on cactuar. I don't have crazy times to play so leveling up another character is kind of tough. Also I do have some friends on cactuar so leaving isn't that great of an option for now.

Hi there! I'm not exactly new to RP'ing - I used to do it a fair bit several years back - but I think it's time I really try to get back in the game. Unfortunately, I play on Diabolos, so I can't do anything in-game. It's not a problem for me, since I have a preference for written adventures, but I'd imagine not as many people are looking for cross-server stuff... That being said! I would love to send my girl Muijh on her first real adventure. So, if anyone is interested in bringing her into a story or starting one up with me, lemme know and we'll work something out!

Hello everyone. I wanted to extend out a hand to those of the roleplay community that Mateus does have a stable, be it small, Roleplay community. It is a community of friendly faces and warm smiles. Think like a small town, and you get the idea of Mateus. Mateus is unlike some of the larger servers. It does have a small population, but in this, it means you don't have to fight to be heard or even seen. There are active hunt groups, a stable market when it comes to crafting material items (cotton cloth, iron bars, etc), and other things that are available that are scarce on larger servers. There are currently, from what I've been able to see the past week about 2-3 Roleplay Free Companies and the Roleplayers here are very welcoming, inviting even. Open to conversations about character ideas and willing to be a shoulder to listen to creative insperations. Greetings from Mateus On site I have an FC Tradepost led by a strongly traditional Xaelan female, right down to her strong dislike of the Raen. And... borderline zenophobic. That said, she is looking to raise, house and train other wayward people of the tribe, regardless of their sect as long as they are willing to work cooperatively. What this would mean for you, the player, is that you would have a group to run and explore new and cureent content, as well as a nourishing backing and constant endgame progression. As for your character/persona, while not all RP takes place in the FC itself, there is a foundation for you to grow from, personal development, and a thriving external rp community. Hey everyone! I discovered the site last night and was wondering if there is any RP presence on Cactuar at all? A friend of mine has bought a medium house to turn into a tavern so it can be used as an RP hub. I was wondering if anyone else here RPs on Cactuar that might be interested?

I'm not interested in paying to transfer to Balmung based on the information I was given regarding the community there. And Gilgamesh is often full as well. So I kept reading Siren and Jenova being cited as good alternatives for those who didn't want to transfer. The question is, would there be anyone around who could opiniate on which of the two they think has the most active RP community? Now they added the RP tags I wanted to roleplay on the go. Fortunately I have a friend to play with from the beginning. We would both use the tag with intention to let walk-ups happen, while we both talked in RP mode most of the time, in public and all. That won't be effective at all if we play in a server where there aren't enough people interested in RPing to begin with. Could anyone give their own opinion on this? Which would you suggest? Siren or Jenova? Thanks

Hello, I've been playing FFXIV for a bit now. I originally played on the Behemoth server but had a fairly bad experience joining an FC that was using DPS meters (parsers) and stuff. I'm strongly opposed to people cheating or breaking ToS in these types of games. Agree or disagree with them, I feel we need to respect and abide by them. So, I quit the FC and then the server. I started fresh on whatever random server was suggested during character creation. That ended up being "Mateus." I'm now moving forward in HW content working my way to 60. Taking my time as I like to play other classes, etc. I've been hesitant to join any FC in Mateus due to negative experiences on the other server. Anyway, I love roleplaying. I'm not particular good at it, but I just love being in an RP environment even if I don't tend to contribute so much. I've played text muds in the past and loved that sort of interaction, I miss it with MMORPG's. My thoughts are, to get into RP and leave these issues behind. However, Mateus seems to be a very low population server, and there doesn't seem to be any RP at all that I'm aware of. Should I transfer to an RP server, or try to start an RP FC on Mateus? Not sure if there are official RP servers in FFXIV or if the players make them unofficial style. I'd love to stay put, and try to start a small community here but don't want to fight a lost cause. Sorry for the long winded post!

Hello everyone, I'm Tzarazt from Diabolos and I'm taking a shot in the dark here that there is anything happening roleplay-wise on Diabolos. I'm fully aware Balmung/Gilgamesh is "where it's at" so to speak and the chances of getting a character there are not in one's favor, but as roleplaying is something I tend to try to make part of my mmorpg experience I thought it best to at least test the waters before giving up hope. I am currently still making the climb to level 50 and still need to get a character idea together so there's no rush to jump in the deep end just yet, but if there's a chance I could get some in-game roleplay happening there's much more of an incentive to get myself together in-character. I'm not much of a forum roleplayer, but I recognize that is an option as well. Regardless it is good to join this collection of roleplayers here at least and I look forward to hopefully getting to know some of you as time goes on.

I'm on Brynhildr; just wondering if anyone knew of an RP FC or LS that is currently active. The only one I've seen mentioned (the Valkyrie one) appears to be defunct. Alternatively, and I know this is a frequently asked question, any recent success in creating RP communities on servers that do not have regular character restrictions? I'm aware that Balmung/Gilgamesh are likely my only real options, just poking around as a brand-new player looking for pleasantly hidden gems or something. Not able to even attempt to build one, so looking to plug in. Cheers.
