  1. For me I guess it's just that every other race did not ring all too well for me. I couldn't create a reasonably decent elezan for the life of me, roegaydn have incredibly odd movements when sprinting and I'm just not into playing the small-cutesy race. That left me with hyur and miqo'te; while I love the options for both, I guess I just see the hyur as more of a race that would fit for Paladins; and Miqo'te for another class I'll be playing. I guess I just like choosing characters primarily for how they move and if they can impress me early on. It can be something as simple as an emote that can solidify a choice. ^_^" Nonetheless, if I played FFXI before, I'm sure I would've wanted to re-create a similar character.
  2. Would it add a lot to the game? Of course. Will they ever add it? The 8-ball says no More or less because I'm sure someone would find a way to troll people with it, and it would just get half the community upset and half the community backing it. Lord knows how much time and resources it would take just to have people fighting over it. It's a lot harder to trust a game when thousands of the most complicated and complex species are playing it <_<"
  3. Yeah, I was going to make a thread but I kind of just decided to never make a wiki anyway; I guess I give up a lot easier and the picture I wanted to use never worked in the first place. I'm rubbish at wikis T_T"
  4. This a hundred times. Buying the best of everything isn't ever a good plan. Logical Increments is very useful for this because it helps you see in relative terms what's the biggest bang for your buck. Getting the best stuff makes you marginally better than significantly cheaper options at significantly greater prices, with money that could've been saved and spent on other ways to improve your experience for greater impact (more RAM, for example.) Whew, I'm glad I didn't make myself sound stupid :-D
  5. What...I think Arlon was attempting to say was "Welcome", glad to have you on board; don't be a stranger if you need anything we're all tight-knit.
  6. I'm not too skilled on Raedon's, but if I must recommend anything it is not to buy the MOST expensive of everything. Get too pricy a graphics card and it'll short circuit. It helps to find a balance and to cement how much power it will need (meaning buying a healthy power supply). I was a little stupid in my decision of getting a good graphics card (Nvidia GTX 465) and I suppose I was lied to when I purchased my power supply (700 watts) because it wasn't enough to power it; and I had to literally remove and replace things; and it got a little ridiculous Worst case scenario, you'll play on a PS3; but at least you have options :-)
  7. I guess I'll have to be Gilgamesh as well, I'd rather not join Balmung after the final day or so because it will essentially be a waste. Guess we'll have to see what happens on the third test. I'll be Mathias Krieger, (presumably)
  8. Speaking of which was this guild made before or after 'The battle of such epicness we all just kind of forgot'? Well, the majority of people who are playing are kind of new; I think it would make sense to do it after; as to not pressure anyone to have to fit their story around the Calamity. I never actually played 1.0 but I am trying to connect something with Mathias (or whatever his name will be) into the Calamity. Then again, it's Aldeus' choice.
  9. It is good to see that we can all come together as a community. I hope neither of us ever feel timid to be apart of it; whenever I join these types of things I want to leave a footprint. And there comes many a time where I don't get that opportunity, if anyone ever does need any assistance I think all of us will be happy to help. Alone we're strong, but together we're even stronger.
  10. I'd play World of Warcraft, but I don't want to waste money right now. I'd play Lord of the Rings Online, but they destroyed the Warden class, and I'm not going to try being an "AGILITY" tank. I'd play Tera, but I find not only that the game doesn't like me; but the entirety of the Roleplaying community seems to shun me. -And so, and so on, and so...- I find I'm more excited for the games that haven't even come out yet. Personally I was really only expecting to play one of them; which was Wildstar. But then I keep hearing good news about the Elder Scrolls Online, but now I've been thrust into this community via a late-night email. Seeing as this is the closest one to release; I'm guessing I am just waiting for this. But- if there are any games you are curious of joining again and want someone to level beside. I'd be happy to, not going to download a free to play game just to play alone
  11. Omg I hear the voices of the dead! Don't worry ghost- cat, I shall not rest until ur killer is found and forced to watch every single cat video on the internet (including the 10 hour version of Nyan cat) *writes 'get Aldeus' in tomato paste on the walls* *Returns after sleeping and notices what happened in the thread* Well...that escalated quickly.
  12. I appreciate the comment, I was beginning to feel a little a doubtful when I didn't get a welcome.
  13. I'm definitely interested in this, but I want to get my character right and not knowing enough about what I need to know is troublesome. I never really had a group of friends behind me in my MMO's, so I usually play (and inevitability) leave them due to lonesomeness. I'd rather that not happen again, especially with this game.
  14. I don't usually do these types of things, but this is one of the very few games where I had such an internal conflict. From installing the game due to curiosity, uninstalling from frustration and reinstalling because I actually...kind of missed it. Roleplaying has been the biggest of the three aspects in MMO's for me (PVE/PVP/RP) and I've most certainly done it in just about every game and for a very long time. I never originally played 1.0 and kind of even expected to never get a beta invite in my email. Yet...here I am; I don't entirely know if I'll be able to leave a deep enough footprint to be remembered in this game but that won't stop me from trying. Hopefully we'll get the opportunity to meet in game. (Taking beta time to cement what I want to play; but is playing) - Mathias Krieger (Hyur, Midlander) If they finally bring up the legacy RP server I'll be there, if not I'll be in Gilgamesh.
