Thank you all for answers! I will check all options, namely, watch some videos on youtube mentioned by you, but throughout the game too. I am going to create a character, probably, on the Omega server, because I have noticed that it is unofficial an RP server when it comes to EU. Maybe some players will help the new one and introduce me to the given world either. Gladly I am not new in the final fantasy franchise, I played previous installments in the past, mainly FFVIII which was the game of my childhood and is my favourite one.

Hi all! I am a new player within FFXIV, however, truly I played the game last year but I was forced to leave it because of other duties. Nevertheless, I am going to come back and here comes my request. I want to start writing/creating the story of my character, but I don't know what the main principles of the world are. Where could I find a source which introduces me to the universe chronologically? I know that there are a lot of threads here on forum; they are mainly discussions. I also know that there is a wiki website and the fandom one. Nonetheless, I deeply wish to create a hero who will be logicial to the given world. Thanks a lot.

This is a very interesting phenomenon. I have been playing SWTOR and in the game heavy RP means, on the one hand, that people create the whole system of roleplaying, but unfortunately it is made by a certain guild; on its website there can be a system which should be learned by a newbie, which, from my point of view, is terrible because it restricts gameplay; people who are not in that guild would not know anything about you; your abilities, the system of fighting, etc. Furthermore, some guild follows the main storyline created by the developers, whereas, other guilds have their own narrative and they are a few years, days, etc. earlier than others. There is also another problem, because players have to spend hours to learn the system, which makes them nolives; it is sick. On the other hand, some guilds, by saying heavy RP, refer to the shown universe. It means that every single newbie have to create their own characters with a background, of course referring to the universe of Star Wars and they are obliged to behave like a char in every single guild meeting, beyond it they can do whatever they want to. In my opinion, this is the best possible way of heavy RP, because mature people do not have time to spend it only in front of a computer, and creating various, multilayer systems, stories, etc.

There are a lot of news written here and, at first, I would like to say sorry if someone asked about it. Is there some information on what we can expect from the new expansion? I noticed that the developers are devoted to this game, because they constantly release new things, not only dungeons, but also new quests concerned the main plot, which is as far as I know rare nowadays to meet among MMORPG. I am also curious whether they take into consideration the opinions shared by players and implement players' ideas into the game or they have their own visions and from time to time they refer to players.

Hello fellow RPers, I am a new player in the game and I chose that server. Besides playing FFXIV namely doing quests, levelling, etc. I also prefer RPing, it would be nice if we will meet in the game, I want to know other people who prefer RPing

I see, how about server language; which server is preferred for English, French, German, etc. speaking language. I am an English speaker, which one will be the best for me?

Finally I have bought the game, and still there is no possiblity to create a char on Balmung I really don't want to entriely start my adventure on a server, which doesn't contain RP friendly players or FC, and then waste my time and money on creating another one on a different one. Will it be whenever possible to make a char on Balmung?

I have been playing for a few days so far and I really like the game. I have experience in MMORPG, for example, I played SWTOR and WoW, but I also like Final fantasy. The universe is very engaging and through every hour of playing I want more. Especially I am happy that the plot of the game is on a high level and it is really interesting. As I said, besides playing a content given by developers I am a fan of adding something more, in this case RP stories nad character. Coming to that I have an extra question; Is RP in FFXIV satysfing?

I downloaded the game and have started playing on the trial version. Unforutantely there is no possiblity to play on Balmung because there is information that the server is full and new players cannot log in on it.

Hi there! I am not sure whether there is such a topic but I'll try. I am a player from EU and plan to buy the game. Usually when I play MMORPG I roleplay and there is no difference now. I would like to RP on EU server instead NA like Balmung or Gilgamesh. And now the question: is there an EU server where players RP or a free company?
