Guild-Fate - A Meta-Plot Management System
Haharomu Qiqiromu replied to exhominem's topic in RP Discussion
With the fronts and all, it almost has a Dungeon World feel. I like it. -
I love it! Kind of a gypsy-esque tarot reading using a different medium. If the show is good while my fortune is being read, I'd play along.

What a wonderful thing to find out! I've loved FATE since it spawned from Fudge! If there's room left in the LS, I'd love a spot.

I. Basic Info Characters: Haharomu Qiqiromu Primary character: Haharomu (Romu) Linkshells: None as of yet, but looking Primary RP linkshell: See above answer II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): I tend to be IC most of the time I'm on, so please, assume that Romu (or Haha as the tall-folk call him (with far too much enjoyment)) is IC whenever you see him. Views on RP combat and injuries: I think this is a much deeper question than it appears at first blush. There are a number of types of RP combat to choose from, and each one brings different graces. Mutually agreed on combat is a story-teller's best bet. It utilizes a story that both sides have agreed on and then worked a story around. It is a great way of doing RP combat. The second is /roll combat. Also a good way of engaging in RP combat, but a little bit more random that mutually agreed on combat. The third is God-modded combat...and I won't pay it enough credence to talk about it. Views on IC romance: IC Romance is fine, as long as it has a build-up, a reason, and a story...ERP, not so much... Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I have been an RP'er for a very long time. I even worked in the industry (White Wolf Studios circa Vampire the Masquerade), so...I think it's safe to assume that I LOVE rp! Views on lore: I love reading through lore, seeing the places in game that the lore speaks of, and meeting the people that turn out fate...I just wish FF had more of it. That said, I do understand that not everyone is so into lore, and I can deal. Immersion will never be an issue as long as there is fun to be had! Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I almost exclusively use the /say channel. Linkshells are great for organizing events, keeping tabs with friends and all manner of OOC things...I know the lore exists for IC linkshell activities, but I prefer to have my dealings IC face-to-face. III. Other Info Country: United States Timezone: CST (GMT-5 hrs) Contact info: Either PM me here, send a tell in game, or check out Haharomu's Wiki [glow=blue]~Special announcements can be found in the posts below~[/glow]

Now on Balmung! There are two means of spreading light into the world: To be the candle or the mirror that reflects it. What is the Candlekeep Trading Company? The Candlekeep Trading Company exists in duality. There are twin branches of service in the Company, the Daggers and the Scales. The Scales, our bread and butter, are the craftsmen, merchants and gatherers of the Company. It is they who keep our books in the black. Not to be eclipsed, however, are the Daggers. These are the men and women who have taken it upon themselves to protect our goods, our endeavors and even the members of the Company themselves. Our Role-Playing... We are a company run by individuals experienced in RP (both table-top as well as MMO-based) and plan to run events both simple and broad. We may indulge in an ‘evening at the local pub’ one night and work toward getting one of our caravans of hardwood to Ul’dah the next day. We will have scheduled story arcs for members and non-members alike, personal story arcs for members, and Company arcs available. What RP System do we Use? The system we use for our RP is the FATE version many of you use here…although we actually started to use FATE Accelerated before we found it due to its ease. We still find ourselves using FATE AC on many occasions. Not to worry though, we have mind to accommodate any and all who would RP with us…even if you want to use another system of RP.

The CandleKeep Trading Company is a new casual RP FC on the Coeurl server. We have a dual-sided FC that has "Scales" and "Daggers". The CandleKeep Scales are the members that tend toward the crafting and mercantile professions. The Daggers, however, gravitate toward militia and guard. We at CandleKeep are a casual RP guild that aims at producing quality arcs that will encompass individuals, groups, branches, and the Trading Company as a whole. We have places for everyone to join...we will even gladly take in folks that don't RP...providing you are laid-back and sociable. We also have a Linkshell for RP, which will be used to coordinate events (CandleKeep or any other event), talk to our non-FC friends, and hopefully have a few good conversations...as long as you don't spam the shell. Any roads, look for Acuram Kharlu and ask about the FC or the shell. PS: We know that Coeurl isn't one of the heavy RP servers, but there seems to be a good number of RP'ers on here, so we figured...why not.

Sometimes reinstalling will not get rid of a corrupted patch file. He might need to uninstall the game and then make sure that the file that was downloading for the patch is also deleted and try to reinstall again. As a side note...his drive isn't full is it?

Hello! A new explorer just reached Eorzea.
Haharomu Qiqiromu replied to Arzilia's topic in Welcome Desk
Welcome! I'm a fairly new transfer as well and I'm finding the community here on Balmung to be pretty awesome. Feel free to holler at Eroll if you see him in game, I can always use more friends. -
To use WoW as an example, something like this was done on Moonguard with great success! It started out as a small guild event and built to events that encompassed several guilds that would take strategic areas and hold them. The combat was mostly RP, although a separate grouping would allow duels to further the story as well. The awesome thing about these events was that they created RP arcs that went far outside the event. We would have arcs to find herbs for medicines needed because the louts from one guild brought in poisons...we would find that one of our leaders was kidnapped in the back of the fight while we were all engaged at the front, etc... Excellent idea!

I'm relatively new to the game and this server. Eroll is still evolving his personality and trying to find his place...and would love to have more RP friends, so give me a holler if you happen to see me in game! Welcome!

Returning Player needs friends! Where is the RP here?
Haharomu Qiqiromu replied to Kaluka's topic in Welcome Desk
Well, I can't answer most of your questions, simply because I'm new here and still learning those things myself. One thing I can tell you is that I've gotten a handful of walk-up RP because I walk. There's something about walking that hangs a sign on you that says "Hey, I RP!"...and I tend to get a little walk-up RP pretty regularly. I tend to even get emoted greetings from folks that don't RP...not sure on that one, but it's still cool. As far as RP goes, if you see Eroll on, feel free to holler, I can always use more RP friends! -
I spent many months RP'ing in the Mary-Sue lands of Moonguard...So far, the Rp I've watched here is a little different, but it seems different in a good way...I'm looking forward to getting involved more. Nice to meet you, feel free to holler. We Moon-guardians have to stick together!

Lol, sorry, didn't mean to cause an attack. I am on Balmung, can't believe I didn't mention it...thanks for the reminder...and the welcome!

MMORPG background My MMO experience is fairly broad. I started with Ultima Online, went through WoW, LoTRO, DAoC, and a few lessers that didn't really hold my attention all that long. I actually bought FF some time ago as part of a humble bundle, but never really did anything with it...then, a short time ago, I figured I'd install it and give it a go...haven't looked back since! RP experience My Rp experience is even more broad than my MMO experience. I started, like most, with AD&D back in the early 80's. Passed into Role Master, GURPS, White Wolf (even worked for White Wolf's Black Dog Studio for a bit) Fate, and many other small-press releases. Today, I still love a good Table-Top RP session, even if it's done online. Character ideas/info Eroll is still a new enough character that I don't have the complete history and personality down yet. I'll spend a good portion of the next few weeks getting him down to the final product. I see him as a simple farmer-boy with some healing skill. I think the broadness of it all is still kind of a eye-opener for a kid who never thought to see anything beyond his home. How did you learn about the coalition? I googled FFXIV Rp and viola! What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? I like a nice medium RP. I tend to spend most of my time IC (using a double parenthesis to denote OOC talk ((ex)) ), but I have been known to get into expansive talks about just about anything... Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? IRL, I spend most of my time working IT at a local hospital, but I spend a good portion of my free time either on the computer or out in my forge. I have been a practicing blacksmith / bladesmith for almost 25 years (you'd think I'd have it right by now). That's about all the 'me' I can stand for right now, so...without further ado, Hello! Can't wait to meet some of you in game.
