  1. The CTPA will be roleplaying this weekend in Closed Beta 3 (No-strings, non-character binding). Feel free to join us this weekend! [EDIT] We are the Balmung (legacy) server, I'll post more info on the date and time as we get closer to the weekend. Most likely late Friday evening (PST) and sometime midday on Saturday. We have a temporary chat LS up in the Beta so feel free to PM either Khior'a Laanakoh or Spy'li Nmolo for an invite if we are online.
  2. We have received some reports of errors after submitting the application. If you submitted an application and have not received a response please send me a PM so we can find a solution. [EDIT: Applications issues have been resolved and should be working properly]
  3. I have been lurking around in the corners for a while so I thought I would drop a friendly hello and introduce myself. I am Plutosams, had that screenname since I was very young. --MMORPG background I have dabbled in some small MMOs for years; however it was only in the past year that I got hooked. In the past year I have played TSW, GW2, TERA, Aion and WOW (8 years late to the game). My favorite being TSW for its immersive world that just gets me excited and my creative juices flowing. --RP experience I claim that I am a newbie to RP and probably will for a while. I have RP'ed with several groups and just haven't quite found my niche...yet. I tend to prefer story driven RP rather than Tavern, though I definitely won't walk away from impromptu or walk-up interactions. --Character ideas/info My primary character is a male miqo'te-Keeper of the Moon named Khior'a Laanakoh. He is a studious pensive type who is just venturing out into the world. He lived the past five years as normal, as we has never been one for battle and at the time had not yet left his tribal family. He is still a work-in-progress with a lot of details left to figure out...luckily I have a month or so to hash out the details. --How did you learn about the coalition? Thanks google --What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? Medium. When I am in the mood to roleplay I get really into it...however I also enjoy the game mechanics of MMOs and plan on running many dungeons and joining in on a few raids.
  4. I would definitely love to run this type of content. I love dungeon runs and I especially love IC dungeon runs.
  5. I think RP is definitely meant to be fun; otherwise why on earth are we doing it. Personally I feel fun is derived from learning to do something new, a different way or by pushing my boundaries a bit. RP loses its fun when I stop expanding and growing my characters. I have been in certain groups where the fun fades because players are too serious all the time. I have met very few people in real life who are serious all the time, and the few I have met don't have many wishing to be near. Some of the most interesting characters I have interacted with are laughing in the toughest of situations. Like others have said here disagreements within the community have more to do with style than anything else. Find players who play comedic and/or light hearted and I am sure you will have fun; just don't discourage those who enjoy the more serious tone (after all, that might be fun for them) I for one am all about creating a cohesive, welcoming and fun community. Anything we can do to improve the community creates a better game and in the end we all win by having more fun.
  6. I. Basic Info Characters:Khior'a Laanakoh Primary RP linkshell: II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium. When I am into RP I am really into RP; however I love the other content of games and like to invest a good amount of time in those aspects. RP, however, is the glue that keeps me invested in the game, world and my characters. Views on RP combat and injuries: I think they can be fun and can make your character more believable. Placing your character in a tough situation can be stressful, but getting to roleplay their injury and healing provides a lot of depth and can change the pace a bit. I am however a stickler on permissions, if you plan on dueling/fighting/etc. with me check OOC first so we can establish ground rules so we both enjoy the encounter. Views on IC romance: Open to it, however it must flow naturally. I do not generally have my character seeking romance, but if they encounter upon it I roll with it. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Open to it as long as their is an actual roleplay purpose to it. Views on lore: Generally, I prefer to stay within the boundaries of the lore. That being said, some very intriguing encounters and discoveries can be made by intentional fractures. My view is that if you can justify it, it doesn't infringe on others and it is fun then I am okay with it. Personally, I don't attempt to break lore with any of my characters intentionally unless the group I am RPing with has the same plan. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): For guild/free company chat I like chat to be OOC and have a secondary channel/linkshell for IC interaction. I feel that before you can trust fictional characters you need to trust the players behind those characters. You can't learn each others personality and playstyles without getting to know the players first. I feel that when you are in a guild you are a player first, character second. In person/say interaction is always IC for me. III. Stop by our website for more information and to apply! Structure: In Character: C.T.P.A. does not have an established heirarchy in the world of Hydaelyn; however to meet the various goals of the agency members have created separate internal societies tasked with specialized role in the overall protection of all things cute. All members are considered Protectors for all intents and purposes. Each member is expected to bring the skills their own to the table for the protection of the cute; whether it be brute protection, offensive skills or the ever valued healers. In addition to their duties as a Protector, each member is part of a specialized group within the C.T.P.A. tasked with its own unique type of adventures. Although each society works intimately with each other, members are requested to select the society most fitting with their own personality. Society of the Squirrel: Members of this society are the knowledge seekers of Hydaelyn. Using their intricate knowledge, members of this society spend their days cataloguing, documenting and studying the history and lore of each animal, plant or location. Society of the Chocobo: Members of this society are the explorers of Hydaelyn. Their ingenious ability to navigate and discover the hidden parts of the world have proved invaluable to the agency. Daily life for members of this society includes frequent expeditions to distant locales in preparation for the research teams and scouting of regions. Society of the Moogle: Members of this society are the socializers of Hydaelyn. These individuals make sure the agency is connected with all the right people, creatures and places as well as creating the foundation for many of the needs of the agency. Daily life for these members will include organizing social events, founding headquarters, chartering expeditions and maintaining the network of CTPA sympathizers and not so friendlies. History: The CTPA is an ancient organization with a mysterious background that has popped up in various worlds through a number of chance circumstances. In Eorzea, the agency was founded about five years after the destruction caused by Bahamut. It is rumored that the CTPA started after its founders came into possession of an ancient tome describing the structure, purpose, and customs of the agency. How the agency has proceeded from there, my dear friend, is reliant on the decisions and fates of agency members.. and you.
