The "Leader" (or so people tell him) is Ryo Kierlost, an orphan raised by pirates then taught to fight honorably as a samurai, joined by his wife Alatrye, a kind red mage who would do anything to help her husband, they seek to build a home for people like themselves. The Midnight Perch is always open and the lantern always lit for those looking for a place to call home.
