Hello folks, just wanted to make an introduction and say hello. I'm not really a veteran per-se, as I never made it in game past beta... but some of you older people who've been around the forums might remember me starting up Remnant, an evil heavy RP linkshell. In any case I've finally managed to purchase the game! I'm only two years late!... but I'm hoping I run into a few of you and play some good stories out. I don't know how long I'll stay! GW2 is coming up by the way... but I always keep looking back to FFXIV, itching to give it a fair shot... and well, here I am!

Archeage - The Next Generation in Sandbox MMO's -
GaelicWarlord replied to GaelicWarlord's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Yeah, thats the only thing I really wish they'd release some info on. While Jake Song (The Lead Developer), has mentioned in interviews directly targeting the Western Market in the design process for the game, you can pretty much count on a beta being released US side of things until after the launch of the Korean game. There are a few factors right now that really kind of obscure how soon that could actually be. For one, at the current stage of the beta, there are a lot of things that have not yet been finished. The world was only 30% accessible, (it remains unclear if that means that 70% of it is not yet been developed or just wasn't accessible during the CTB. Though its also kind of relieving at the same time, because the world if it was only 30%, was still quite huge) There are also a few features that have yet to be tested yet, but... most of the big features are already in beta and have been tested in beta. At this point one can merely only speculate, but I'm gonna go out on the limb to make a rough guestimate that there will likely be two more closed betas, and then an open beta for Korea. It being february, that leads me to believe that the Holidays of 2012 for Korean release. Then add another 4-6 months for localization... So a safe guess would be that we won't see the game before next spring or next summer... which depresses me now that I realize just how far away that is. In any case, its definately worth keeping an eye on folks. I hope you guys enjoyed some of these links, and thank you to the others who have also chimed in. -
Archeage is a game currently being developed by XLGames, a Korean Video Game company with the Lead Designer, Jake Song, being the man behind Lineage I. I've been following up on the game ever since there was news available for it. Judging from what I've seen from the Closed Beta 4 Videos, the game is looking stunning. Despite being in closed beta, XL Games is not operating under an NDA and have full disclosure on all the systems currently playable in the game, though a full comprehensive list of features is likely going to change between now and launch. This game is gorgeous, the environments are very well done, and do not feel like some random generated p.o.s. As if they were artfully hand crafted designed to be real and plausible. The vegetation, the lay of the land, the ocean and the sea floor and sea vegation within the ocean. There simply isn't anything I've seen like this in an MMO, and while I tend to be a person who avoids getting to hyped up over a game, I've been talking to players in the Beta and currently all the features promised are working and in game. Which is an interesting and very ingenious approach, as from what it seems, XL Games worked on getting the engine done and then all features before crafting lore and the world itself. Its been in development since 2006 but and is now coming closer to completion. There is an expected due date sometime within 2012 for Korea, though there are no official announcements on localization and the North American Market. However, Jake Song said in an interview that he the Western Market is a large target audience, and in many more ways than one. While art style definately retains a large bit of that 'eastern' RPG look and feel, there is also a lot of Western Fantasy elements to story and look. Ironically enough, this has transcended culturally in game, between two human races even, The Nuian (Western Continent, and Western Culture influenced. (Very anglo in ethnical appearance) and the Hariharan, (Which architecture and cultural references are very asian as well as ethnical appearance). These great trends of both Eastern and Western Fantasy being seamlessly meshed together seem to be a good step in the right direction for MMO's, but more importantly so... is the integration of the best of mainstream MMO gaming, with the best of hardcore sandbox gaming. With the proper mix and dosage of both genres, you have Archeage, which is a not too hardcore setting, that is easy for all players to get into, but also has all the great functions of sandbox MMO's that ultimately makes me thrive to play a sandbox MMO. But what excites me more than a working and proven comprehensive list of features, is all the potential this game has for the RP community. Aside from the two PVE continents (that also feature areas where player settlements can be built) there are also unmapped uncharted islands in the vast oceans surrounding the continents, and as well another huge continent far across the sea to the North that is completely untouched by man... There you can build castles, cities, and with the proper collaboration, create a player ran nation. This game has everything anyone could want. The PVE, the PVP, the exploration, the Sandbox. It sounds too good to be true, but for all those people who have gone into beta thinking there has yet to be a catch, I've been told they haven't found out what that catch was yet. For those of you interested in finding out more about Archeage, here is a very good unbiased review of the 4th Closed Beta, with an extensive list of features that have been tested in the beta, and a good large number of them having a youtube video to back it up. Take a look!... this seems to be what the MMO industry needs. It might not be WoW big, but it really is the only game that looks like it really has set a goal to change how MMO's are played for the better. Archeage - Extensive List Of Features - CBT4 Review

((Just want to let you all know that I intend to get back into the RP soon. Just got back from Michigan for vacation!))

For all of you who had taken interest in Remnant, I just want to sincerely apologize for this sudden decision. Most of the people who I've started this group with from LOTRO have decided that there interests will be in ToR... and hence we are now going to be focusing our resources to that game and universe. Thats not to say that we won't be in FFXIV... its just to say that we won't necessarily be pursuing active recruitment for a community we may not participate in full time. Thank you all again for the support... I will still be apart of the community and continue RP plots on the forums and maybe in game come launch.

Val's eyes watched Revan as the highlander began to stir in his sleep subtley. He had not regained consciousness, but it seemed that the medicine was already in its final stages, and his unconscious state would wear off in the next few hours. "...Wierd... you think the doc' gave 'im the right stuff? I thought this boyo's supposed ta' be sleepin' till the mornin?... he's not gonna wake 'er nothin, uh?" Val moved over to the patient and nudged him with his foot, with little respect for the wounded man or his need for comfort. Like a child, poking at a sleeping dog with a stick. Val looked at Croix expectantly, waiting for an answer.

Valthizar somehow managed to get ahold of a random apple, its whereabouts unknown, and takes a big chunk out of it, chewing loudly and talking with his mouth full. "One-Eye'shome big shhot from Ala Mihgo.... He, like most of their lot, came into this town looking for freelance work, and sold their swords to any cause that gott'im a wee bit o' gil." He managed to swallow what was in his mouth before continuing. "I'm sure yer' familiar with the tale of the invasion of Ala Mihgo, aye?... well anyway..." He takes another bite out of the apple. "He'sh a bit tougher than your average highlander.... and they're all pretty tough albeit, rarely do you ever run into one. He's been around for about since the fall of the old city... and slowly, he's climbed, killed, bribed, slaughtered, bought, stolen, his way to the very top of the food chain 'ere in Limsa. At first, you can expect, a good lot of the other syndicates and locals tried to resist 'im. Most don't nowadays simply because... well... he's killed most o' tha shit-stirrers that were about. Everyone else is scared... and there are those of us... who stay out of his shadow, by remaining in other shadows." He raised a brow about the 'friend' she mentioned. "Friend, eh?... sounds like a good enough lead ta' me... reasonable to think though, if this fella and One-Eye are both from Migho... likely it wasn't no random killin'... but uh... I may jus' be statin' the obvious 'ere." He slaps the big rogaedyn on the shoulders with a grin. "But like ya' all've told me a'fore... best ta' leave the thinkin' bit to yuns."
-
"Right infront of the entire Militia... Like I said... this man is either crazy, or has a bloody deathwish... I just don't get it... ifin' he wanted to kill one-eye, why'd he not run away?... Seems like a bloody waste of opportunity to just throw in the white flag, when it was almost certain they were gonna kill 'im... I'd like ta' give the bloke some bloody credit, cause he doesn't look like the usual village idiot... but uh... kinda stupid if ye' ask me." Val takes another swig of the substance and looks over to Ryelle and nods curtly. "Pleasure ta' meet ya' miss." He shrugged at her words. "I won't lie... it's been a problem. But ey', it serves its uses. Ol' Croix here has me taste most of his food and drink in case of any assassination attempt." He smiles widely and rather stupidly. "Lucky for me, none of it has been poisoned yet... but don't tell him I'm swindlin him!" He says loudly smirking over at Croix.

I just wanted to inform you all that Remnant is pulling out of FFXIV. Not necessarily all together, we will probably have an in game group of people who will be playing FFXIV... but we are now going to be focusing our resources to the release of the Old Republic, as it seems that is where most the interest lies. I'll however still be participating in forum RP and maybe even get in game as well. It just depends on my financial situation come launch. 3 game subs running right now and its running me dry!

Eye's the bottle as it is taken away from him and glares at the Doc with Mock agrivation. "Oh, tha's cruel......" He glances at the other bottle much more warily this time around and lifts it to his nostrils before taking a swig, and swishing the substance around in his mouth. His eyes land upon Ryelle and winks with an ornery smile. "Who's tha' pretty?"
-
Val looks down at the wounded man, a crazy smile coming upon his face. "Quite a story I'll tell ya!... heard talk among the watch this here bastard set the Bismark ablaze and killed ol' One-Eye's lil brother. Bloody-helluva death wish if ya' ask me. Didn't seem ta resist the guards in the slightest... as ifin' he wanted ta' go to jail. Can't expect he thought better of gettin' out alive though. Heard talk that One-Eye came ta' meet with tha' ol Watch Cap'n 'imself. Figures he's got the watch under 'is thumb... Anyway... looks like he was stuck... pretty bad, but by luck, I think he'll make it... Anyway... mighta wanna restrain 'im or somethin. Quack's got a screw loose... better ta keep 'im from hurtin' himself, or anyone else. Figured we could get some juicy tid-bits from 'im... No one's dared ta' mess with One-Eye before until those lot who started that fight in the bismarck, and o'course this feller... but I'll be... killin the man's brother. I don't know if he realizes what he did... or ifin' ol One-eye an him go back... but they're both highlanders ya' know... so I figured he'd know somethin. Sides... we've been tryin' ta find away to get aroun' One-Eye anywho... or put 'im in a lesser place. Maybe this fella knows somethin." He heads back to the entrance and closes the door, reaching for the sack and a weapon wrapped in linen cloth for travel. "An' I got ya' a present... Shocked tha' piss outta' me when I touched it... but it was too good ta' leave behind..." Valthizar looks to Croix and with a gloved hand removes a black steel Nodachi, some spots with dried blood on it, though it looked like it was cleaned rather poorly recently. There was a unique gem that was incrested in its intricate hilt, that pulsed a blue glow, as did the runes. As soon as Valthizar touched it with his gloved hand the glow of the jewel and the runes faded into darkness. "Some wicked poker this is... but I wouldn't touch it without holdin' somethin if I was you..." Val looks at the Doc as he comes up with supplies, among other things. He rests the unique sword against the wall and goes rummaging through Doc's supplies. Among the supplies Val finds a bottle of what looked like to be liquer of some sort. "Thanks, Doc." Instead of treating the wounded man, he raises the bottle to his lips, rips out the cork with his teeth and takes a long swig and spits it out everywhere. "What the piss is this?!"
-
Valthizar heaves heavily as he approaches the set of steps that lead to the den. Behind him on a cot he dragged across the ground, was a wounded man, masked by a cloak, and covered in blankets. He lowered him to the ground slowly and moved up the steps, and as he reached the top door, he did the succession of raps that was the secret password, and unlocked the door with a key. He looks in the entry way and hollers in. "Ey!... some'n ge' off their arse and come ou' 'ere an' give me a hand!" His voice was destinctive, as was his accent, he was hyurian, but not of Eorzea by birth. The rest of the crew could easily figure out it was Val. Val ran back down the stairs to the man who was laid out upon the cot which now rested on the ground. "Alrigh' fella... we'll get ya' good in no time, we will." He looked up the steps to see if anyone was coming to answer to his call.

When Revan woke up, he was being dragged down a dark alley within Limsa Lominsa, by a man who appeared to be a guard. He was lying upon a cot of some sort, which he was being dragged on. Revan looks down at the wound to see it was properly cleaned and stopped. He apparently was lucky enough that no vital organs were wounded. He however was fevered and chills were going through his body. The guard dragging him had a sack over his back, a great nodachi sticking out, that was Illucien. "...w.. where am I?" Revan whispered quietly. The guard glanced back, his features masked by the helmet he was wearing. "Quiet mate. We're not outta harm's way yet..." Revan's eyes quirked with what little energy he had, left, unaware of what was happening or who this stranger was, or whether or not he meant well upon him.

((Yes, it is. Still kinda waiting on Daishi to reply before we move forward. I think he's had a pretty heavy load, work wise, so he'll probably get to it eventually, just more a matter of when.))

A day... two days... who knows how many had passed. That was the one thing that always was rough about captivity... you could never figure out just how much time had gone by. The first prison he was held in captivity in there was no light that reached him where he was at, until a year past and the tower roof had gone without maintenance. This place was no different, though the conditions were kingly compared to that of Garlea. Revan regained conciousness and found himself dangling by his hands, by metal chains a good three feet off the ground. He was stripped of his leather armor and was only wearing a pair of cloth pants that were in terrible condition. Blood was dripping down his wrists where he had been hanging by his hands for so long. His body spun idly and very slowly where the bolt of the chain would rotate upon the ceiling. He wasn't in the best shape at this moment, he had been flogged, fresh cuts overwritten the scars he priorly had over his body, but the truth was, he would take Limsa Lominsa's torture antics over that of the Garlean Empire any day. He knew it wouldn't be long before One-Eye came to the prison. He had a feeling he may have been dealing with some of the militia figureheads, as there was much rumour that many of them were corrupt. Revan's eyes opened and looked to the wooden door as it opened, the Rogaedyn Captain from the day before, walking in... along with a very tall and muscular highlander, with long hair that reached the bottom of his back, and a rough beard and raven black hair. He had a tremendous deep scar that ran down his left forhead, through his brow, down through his left eyelids, and curved down over his mouth and under his chin. He wore an eyepatch over the dead eye. "...it seems you have a visitor, Highlander." The Rogaedyn spoke quietly. "...Leave us, Mardescus." The highlander said, approaching Revan very slowly. Revan's eyes raised to meet Lengalad's and while there was no outward emotion shown on Revan's face, his eyes resonated a hatred more fiery than the flames that had destroyed his homeland. Mardescus turns and walks through the doors closing them behind him. "Lord Revanoth, of House Malachai... I certainly did not think I would see you again." The highlander began to clap his hands in mock-amusement. "Well done. You've managed to kill two people, and burn down a building, and need I mention, the enemies you have made... Quite impressive for a day's work. Not something I would expect from the 'Jewel of Ala Mihgo', I'll admit. And in the thick of things you had killed my beloved baby brother..." The man drove his fist back and swung it full force at Revan's solar plexus. Revan coughed violently and began to breath heavily as the wind was knocked out of him. "...but here as you lie, without sword in hand... a pathetic piece of filfth... a waste of the gods' creativity. A weakling with only one inevitable end." Lengalad halted just before Revanoth, and placed an idle hand on the side of Revan's thigh as he dangled there, looking up to Revanoth's beaten face. "Though, I am one who can easily forgive... provided that those who trespass against me try can make right by it... Celgad was weak hearted, weak willed... he's lucky I did not kill him myself. But you, Revan... you are strong. I saw with my very own two eyes, while I had them still, what you had done in Ala Mihgo. I could use a man with your abilities..." Lengalad had trailed off. Revan looked up from the ground, eyes landing upon the man standing before him with great distain. "... the last man who tried to bribe me to his will, killed my wife when I refused. That very man is now dead, Lengalad, and I assure you he suffered an unimaginable death..." The man whispered quietly. His words grew even more quiet as he continued, almost inaudible. "You know what I have to say to your offer?" Lengalad raised a brow unable to decipher the man's words. He leaned closer to him. "What?.." Revanoth drove his right knee with all his strength into Lengalad's nose, the highlander falling back against the ground, his hands rising to clog the nostrils which were now bleeding profusely. He staggered to get up, blood running over his mouth and down his chin. "...son of a bitch." He reached at his belt for a dagger and unsheathed it, closing in quickly upon Revan and thrusting his dagger, just below Revan's ribs. Revan roared in pain as the dagger ripped through his flesh, and crimson began to pour down his skin, dripping onto the floor beneath him. The Highlander cocked his head back and laughed as he turned towards the door. "Death is clearly your wish... Who am I to keep you from such fate?" The highlander opened the doors and closed them, leaving Revan to his fate. As Revan lost more and more blood, slowly he drifted into unconsciousness.
-
Revan's gaze loomed down at the wooden table before him, one single candle was used to dimly light the room that he was being contained in, an interrogation room of sorts. His hands and feet were bounded tightly to the chair he was in by rope, and though he struggled to get free of his binds, it was to little avail. After an hour of remaining in the dark chamber, the great wooden door finally opens and a tall older Rogaedyn with white hair and a full white beard enters and sits in the chair on the otherside of the table. "Things aren't looking good for you, Highlander..." He said grimly, staring at Revan with a matter-o-fact expression written upon his features. "Witnesses account that you killed one man inside the tavern, were the cause of the firing breaking out, and furthermore, you had been seen by commissioned soldiers slaying one of your own kind in the front of the Bismarck... you are either very stupid, or insane... Why? Why did you subject to interfere in matters that were not your own? More importantly, why did you set the place ablaze and endanger many innocent lives... many of those not involved in the conflict that had occured?" "...who are you, that you know so well the lives of those who dwell in this land's most pathetic of places, and can rightfully and consciously call them innocent?... you, a man who is sanctioned to protect this city and the pathetic waste of life that dwells within, would know more than anyone that there is no one truly innocent. Are you so sure that you are?" Revan's cerulean eyes break away from the table, rising to meet the Rogaedyn Captain's gaze with a slowly forming half-smile. "Did you see the way the chaos insued?... one fight broke out and in moments the whole tavern was brandishing blades, and loosing weapons to other people, not knowing those who were involved... Their carelessness is the lesson to be learned... To kill without thinking, is to unleash chaos... it is such insanity that had nearly costed them their lives. All I brought was an inevitable outcome of uncontrolled pandemonium faster than they were closing in upon it... and yet, not all of them managed to kill each other. Insane as it may sound, Rogaedyn... I probably saved their lives... opened their eyes to the disorder they so blindly fell entranced to from the very beginning of the night... These people... they're no different than the Garleans... a plague of this land... a disease that there is no cure for... an infection that is spreading, destroying the world we live in..." Revan paused looking upon the Rogaedyn who now began to frown further at Revan's reply. "..what has ailed you that brought you to such unimaginable thinking?" "...only the scars that have plagued my own soul... caused by the very ignorance of the people I lay witness to tonight." Revan's smile faded away and looked to the door. "Have I answered your questions well enough for you, or is there something else you wish to ask?" Revan seemed serious in his speech and thinking, however irrational his thought may have sounded. "I think I've heard enough... you seem to be a sick dog, suffering, with no one... nothing to turn to. There is only one logical thing to do, and that is to put you out of your misery..." He shakes his head standing to his feet. "You made a big mistake, highlander. The man you killed was the younger brother of a very powerful man... As his brother's life was taken, I have agreed to make your life One-Eye's. A just price for the blood that was shed, I believe... I doubt you will live to see the light of tomorrow, but my prayers go with you, that perhaps in death, you will find peace. My conscious however tells me, that you will burn in hell." Revan smiles at the Rogaedyn's bold words, saying to him as he leaves from the door he had entered. "My life is mine to take, and no other..." The Rogaedyn captain looks back at Revan with a disappointed expression, shaking his head, his eyes showing however that there was something about Revan that either bothered him... or that he held respect for. Nonetheless, he had a job to do and would fulfill it. He turned and closed the great door behind him, latching it once more from the outside.

The Setting: A couple of months before present day for launch, taking place in a local jail, just after the events of The Bismark that led to much bloodshed and a fire. Revan is now being held within the local jail and interrogation is about to begin.
-
Revanoth overlooked Celgad closely, the Rogaedyn preparing to depart down the alleyway, and he approached the younger highlander. "...Hold on." He said quietly, the two highlanders began to get the attention of the guards who had been interrogating the others, and it would not be long before more touble brewed. Celgad began to shake his head at Revan, "What the hell are you doing?!" The younger highlander exclaimed, "We need to go!" Revan's cerulean eyes rested upon Celgad, he stood there for a long moment... too long, studying the man's eyes as the militia men began to close in on them slowly and with caution. "I've had a change of heart, Celgad. I don't believe my meeting with Lengalad will be recieved to warmly by him. Instead, you will bring him to me." Celgad's expression became bitter and he replied venomously. "...thats not how it works, Revan. You want to meet with him, you come in under our watch." "Mind your tongue, young one..." Revan said as he approached Celgad closer, his sword still at his side. "...your brother will come, and you will play a bigger part in this game than you will ever understand." Revan rested his left gauntleted hand upon Celgad's shoulder, what seemed a gesture of kindness for a moment, sub-sequentially raising the tip of his nodachi towards the center of the young highlander's chest cavity. He thrusted the blade through Celgad's heart, pulling him into it with his other hand. Celgad began to gasp for air as cold steel met with his flesh, his eyes resting upon Revan with confusion of his unforeseen betrayal. As Celgad began to collapse, Revan caught him in his arms, and slowly lowered the highlander to the ground, holding his head in his lap for a moment, looking down into Celgad's eyes. "W....why... Revan?" The young highlander gasped, coughing up blood, all life within him almost instantly after fluttering away. Now the Militia had completely surrounded Revan, shouting orders to him to stand down and drop his weapon, all that were unheard from his ears. "...Because... all things come to an end..." Revan whispered as he raised his hand and grazed it down Celgad's face, closing the young highlander's eyelids. Revan did not listen to the orders as they were made, but he did not resist either as a group of three or four moved in and pulled him away from Celgad's corpse. The Rogaedyn watched what had taken place, dark eyes resting upon Revan with a menacing glare, but they did not dare to interfere while the militia was upon them. They turned disappearing into the darkness of the alleyway as Revan was held down against the ground by five or six militia-men as they shackled him and began to drag him off. Revan's eyes finally rested upon Kain just before he was drug off out of sight, and a rare sickly grin curved on the corner of his lips silently, as the militia began to drag Revan off away from the scene of the crime. One-Eye would soon hear about this, and the war that would spark between Revan and Lengalad would soon begin.
-
Revan finally came upon Kain as he was being directed out, and he moved to his other side, taking his other arm and carrying him forth. He didn't even glance to the woman, not noticing her glare. As they exited the fiery building Revan looked at Kain and offered him a nod of acknowledgement. "...the world we live in, is a small one." He whispered darkly, casting a glance over his shoulder at Celgad. The troops of the militia were now nearby and came carrying buckets of water, a few of them, and even more were holding halberds and spears. Revan moved across the street to Celgad, the Rogaedyn lifting Celgad to his feet and landing their eyes upon Revan. "Celgad says your a friend of One-Eye's... we can take you to him if you so wish it." The bigger of the two rogaedyn said to Revanoth as he approached. Revan's eyes grimaced darkly upon the Rogaedyn's face. 'Friend?' The thought maddened him, that he thought of killing the rogaedyn there where he stood, but such brash behavior would not lead Revan to what he had came here for in the first place. His eyes rested upon Celgad darkly, "One-eye... So thats what he calls himself these days..." Revan gestured to the alleyway. "Lead on... and do so quickly. I doubt those Militia men have come here for merry celebration."
-
Beads of sweat mixed with rain and sut dripped down Revan's dirtied face as he glanced back at the burning building behind him. He looked forward to Celgad. "...remain where you are." The other Rogaedyn looked at Revan as he turned and went back to the entrance of the burning tavern, "Who are you?! And what are you going to do?!" One cried out. "...repaying a debt." Revan walked into the smoke, his eyes unable to see, he lifted his cloak towards his face, and tried to filter the air he breathed through the cloth. He looked through scattered patrons running for the entrance, the brunt of the brawl for the most part, seemed over due to the chaos. "Kain!!!" Revan called out looking through the inferno.
-
((and again, for reference sake. )) He rose his hand aiming it towards the ranger who stood upon the bar and the focused Aetherial energy began to gravitate right into his palm into a great flare of fire. He drew his hand back, ready to cast the energy towards her, but instead, he decided to use it for another purpose. Revan swung his hand back to the great group of brawlers, the ball of fire exploding upon the tables and wooden floor behind him, spreading greatly into a fire wall. If those who remained behind did not act quickly, the inferno would spread and bring the whole building down in a matter of minutes. Revan's energy was nearly sapped from him, and he knew he had to get to Celgad. His eyes moved towards the door, and he quickly shuffled to the exit, Siben (or his character rather) lying in his path. Revan lowered his sword to his side and brushed past the mage, following after the two rogaedyn who had made off with Celgad. The rain was pouring harder than ever and Revan thought he had lost them until he had seen the three resting at the side of the road. As he looked further down the road, many torches could be seen approaching the tavern. In minutes this place would be overcame by whatever authority governed this land, it being apparent that one of the feeling patrons warned the said militia. Revan hurried across the street to the three. ((I think I got a bit confused by the layout... but uh, I was thinking the bar was more towards the middle of the room, since the meeting happened in the back of the tavern... like the bar would be against the wall between the back of the room and the entry. Revan meant to redirect his attack to the huge brawl of people from behind him, not so much the people at the bar... though he totally thought about it, lol This was my interpretation))
-
Things had became too thick, and Revan's real work had yet to really begin. The tall highlander moved slowly as he walked past patrons, dodging brawlers as they tackled each other about, among arrows and fireballs. A bird of all things comes clawing at Revan's throat, and scratches him deeply, Revan clenches his fist and knocks the bird away from him, atleast enough to shoo it off, before his eyes land upon a bow-woman standing upon the bar, aiming her arrow directly at him. Illucien's atherial gem glows white, as do Revan's eyes and in an instance, Revan uses all his power of conjury to protect him from the unprepared shot. A white barrier forms around Revan and the arrow that would have likely hit him precisely in the neck, bounced off the barrier and stuck into the ceiling. The barrier quickly faded, and Revan began breathing heavily. Conjury never had taken as much of a toll on him before, but the use of white magic was hardly used by him. Revan caught his breath, feeling slightly fatigued for conjuring the barrier and rested his eyes upon the ranger who stood atop the bar. Revan concentrated once more, his eyes glowing as white as Illucien's jewel, all the candles within the tavern beginning to flicker, their flames rose from the wicks and gathered at Illucien's blade, the black steel nodachi looking completely alit by fire. He rose his hand aiming it towards the ranger who stood upon the bar and the focused Aetherial energy began to gravitate right into his palm into a great flare of fire.

((haha, they weren't climbing down. They actually were "Catapulted" out of the tower, haha. Yes, it hurt too. ))

((On the otherside, is well... The sea parting the Aldenard Land mass and the Garlean empire from the rest of the world. Basically, you are on the northeastern most tip of the coast of Eorzea. So there is nothing but ocean, and cliffwalls where the fortress/castle stands. You'll be doing a lot of swimming, unless of course you try to climb the cliff wall that these high tide ocean waves are crashing against... but keep in mind, there is about 200 some feet between the waterline and the top of the cliffs. Forests sit atop these cliffs after clearing the plains and plateu which the castle sits on)) Revan nodded looking out towards the sea, and had taken a deep breath through his nostrils, closing his eyes for just a moment. He looks over to Kain and nods, then with his foot kicks the lever of the Balista. The bolt launched out, travelling several hundred feet, the rope line became shorter and shorter until the noose which they had their hands wrapped around ripped forward, and ripped Kain and Daishi over the cliff wall. Revan groaned in pain as he felt his arm pulled out of socket, and finally he managed to free his hand from the noose during the free fall. They were nearly three hundred and fifty feet over the ocean's surface when they were atop the Balista tower and now, they were coming to the water surface quickly, like pottery about to crash upon stone. Revan closed his eyes hoping Daishi's "magic" was going to reduce the pain that was in store for both of them. ((They would have landed about 15 or some yards where Tsumi's character had just surfaced.))
