  2. @Vee, My apologies if I sounded hostile there. Was not the intent. I personally have no hard feelings against those of you who wish to play on Gilgamesh. I'm new to the game, will be starting fresh, and I'm hitting Balmung. Do I have a reason? Not really. I came here, saw that Balmung was the advertised server on the main page, and headed over. If anything, I think you guys are doing great work in terms of making Gilgamesh a friendly place for new folks, specially with some of the other major communities that are headed your way. As far as what I said there, honestly, I'm down with the flu and being 'that guy'. Plus, I've been dealing with some RL politics stuff lately, so I read that post and was like....yea. I'm gonna go back to bed now. Again, sorry if I offended.
  3. Just read that post. I must say, I'm rather disturbed by the feeling they are going for with that advertisement. "Come to Gilgamesh if you want to actually matter, because you won't on Balmung." More than a little exaggeration there, I think. Seems more like a method of scaring people away from Balmung, than actually showing what the Gilgamesh community has to offer. Reminds me of politics. "Vote for us, because the other guy is evil!"
  4. See, the wording in the song, makes me feel as though it's from the perspective of Gaia, or the world, basically. "To all my children..." doesn't seem as though its from a single goddess. Could be, though. I'm just wondering if perhaps, it was something people were hearing, or what opinions would be on someone RPing that they did. And I was not aware that the song itself was played by character in game, either, so that's neat to know.
  5. So, watching some videos from the end of 1.0, and reading forums, I notice that the song could be somewhat heard in the background during play. Is this something characters are RPing as being heard, and if so, is there some IC explanation of it? Just something I thought of last night listening to it again. Anyone got thoughts?
  6. At the mention of Terra's theme..... SAFgh2iPl_A
  7. For Kira, my Lancer, I will be using this as her theme music. nkogNDpk0lg
  8. What I take from that interview, is that, because fishing will require so little interaction, fish -prices- won't be crazy, because anyone can head out to the river or lake, relax, and fish up everything they need themselves. Could be wrong, but that's how it sounds to me, at least.
  9. I. Basic Info Characters:Kira Draheim, Soryn Draheim Primary character:Kira Draheim Linkshells:None as yet. Primary RP linkshell:None as yet. II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Will depend on what I find, really, but I'm open to all of the above. Views on RP combat and injuries: Generally, if an actual duel is not a possibility, I will take level, as well as the character's 'age' into consideration. This stems from my RP in WoW and the like, where as one of the oldest characters on server, you were given a certain level of credit when RP fights broke out. Regarding injuries, I am ok with things like scarring and the like, but this world has an abundance of healing magic, available to most everyone. If the RP calls for it, I am willing to suffer a temporary injury, but will only use it during RP scenarios. Views on IC romance: Open to it, but only with people I have gotten to know -very- well. This opens up a myriad of RP plots, and can be incredibly fun, but on the flip side, it can cause a -lot- of issues between characters AND players. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): As above, I'm more than open to it. Views on lore: I have RP'd both inside, and on the edge of lore in many games. A recurring of mine, Niryon, often moves between different worlds, doing what he can to help, within the bounds of THAT world. In his native realm, he is a godlike being, but does not take that power into other realms, to avoid doing more harm than good. The lore is there to build a setting. You are there to make that setting yours, so long as doing so doesn't harm other's enjoyment of the game. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Not sure what needs be said. It's all really explained within the game. III. Other Info Country:Canada! Timezone:Eastern Contact info:PM me and ask! 10. *waves* Hello everyone! Having been accepted into the beta and getting some time with the game, I was more than surprised by how smooth everything is now, having heard so much negative from 1.0. After two days of play, I decided to preorder the game, and started hunting for an RP group to potentially join, and, wouldn't you know it, here you are! I've been out of the RP loop for nearly a year now, and the itch has hit me bad. RP'd for nearly 8 years in WoW, since launch in SWTOR, a bit in both RIFT and TERA, a few years in City of Heroes(R.I.P.) and Champions, as well as countless hours at the table playing tabletop. Knowing there is a community this large that RPs is, to be honest, exciting. I'm looking forward very much to meeting some new faces! I'm currently working on a write up for my character, which will be posted up when it is 'done'.
