Shiramun Arulaq

The Library of Eld is, in its base form, designed for its namesake. A building and organization for the collection, preservation, restoration and sharing of knowledge to the general public. Though to anyone who gives a closer view, there is much more to its practices than what is apparent. Though still a massive work in progress, this FC is meant for those character types of a more magical, scholarly, or intellectual interest as well as holding a morally ambiguous stance in regards to the peoples of Eorzea. As such, business of even questionable sorts is rumored to take place beneath the surface of the Library, allowing and encouraging more mature themes that may not be touched upon. As I said previously, though, this is a massive WIP and I'm not sure how long it will take to sort out the details and better establish it. Its RP focus will not be on events, but a theme and area meant to cater to a specific set of archetypes to fulfill those more interested in impromptu sessions and stories that can grow without the need of scheduled, prerequisite times. I'm almost always open to suggestion and help in that regard, however, while I sort out the details. Feel free to message me!

Ahahaha, those comic strips are great! I don't think I'd be able to get enough of ones like that honestly. Now in regards to the subject question, it really depends. If I was limited to just the Scions, it'd be a harder choice for me. Personally I'd pick Yda. ...However, if there wasn't a limit on NPCs, I'd gladly go on a date with the Admiral herself. Merlwyb gets a bit too much favor in my eyes as she just strikes me as the most interesting of 'em out there.

As another Mateus roleplayer, I look forward to running into you ingame at some point or another! I'm sure you'll be able to find the rest of us whenever you're next on. Also, I think you're the second ever Hellsguard [or even Roe] that I know of in the RP community I'm part of.

Shiramun's another one of those types with an iron gut, so it's hard to get him even remotely tipsy, but if he does dip over the edge? Fun times can be had [at least in a general sense of things], depending on who he's drinking with. Not so much fun if he's drinking alone. To put it simply, my Xaela is an honest drunk, he tends to lose any sense of restraint or decency and will oftentimes blurt out how he feels about this or that without regard of another's feelings, or any consequences he may suffer for it [like telling an officer in the Maelstrom he works under what he thinks of that person's work ethic, despite it being a very, VERY bad idea.]

I feel like I've been lurking here on this server for far, far too long watching the growth and change of RP communities throughout FF14, so I'm finally leaving my shadows, though I tend to ramble and act awkwardly when introducing myself. So here goes! Longtime lurker and forumgoer without a name, I'm from the growing Roleplay community on Mateus and just finally getting enough nerve to step out and get involved. I'm looking forward to getting involved on the forums and the various discussions going about and just being part of the expanding communities throughout FF14 as a whole, which is honestly one of the friendliest places to get involved in such that I've seen in well over a decade personally! I've been roleplaying from the days of Ultima Online infrequently off and on, so I'm hoping to wipe off the years of rust and stagnation to be as motivated as I once was for this hobby of shared writing and story-making.

Thanks for showing interest in Mateus as a potential option outside of Balmung! To answer your first question, there is a TON of options from housing! In terms of large plots there are only a handful in the Goblet remaining, but as far as medium and small plots there's a plethora of them among the three districts, so if you can make the gil, you should have no problems getting the dream spot you and your friend want. Mateus as an RP community hasn't grown to a point where cliques have formed, and there's at least some of us who actively look for signs and tendencies to go that way, encouraging everyone to branch out and get involved with others on the server. There is also not too many RP FCs yet, many of which are still works in progress and there's plenty of room to create the sort of environment you may most desire!

Been putting this off forever, actually making an account here, but here I am! If anyone can't get ahold of whomever here in this LS, whether on the forums or ingame, I am around a lot and am generally pretty easy to get. That said, I am always open for questions and curiosities that people may have in regards to things. Some of us are preparing our own rp passion projects on the server, so in time there will be more and more to offer beyond what is listed in the LS!
