dread_pirate_star Posted April 5, 2015 Share #1 Posted April 5, 2015 The lalafell opened the door to the library, stepping in carefully, the quiet chink of chainmail accompanying him. He closed the door behind him, making no attempt to muffle the noise. He calls out, voice carrying through the quiet building, "'ello? Anyone 'ome?" His accent places him as a native of La Noscea. 1 Link to comment
SM Nick Posted April 5, 2015 Share #2 Posted April 5, 2015 The lalafell was in the lobby, in the part of the building that served as the librarian's home. The echoes carried a bit further inside, until footsteps can be heard from the hallway that leads to the library itself. The footsteps grow louder as a figure reveals herself to the lalafell. The figure in question was a bespectacled dark green-haired female Hyur Midlander of average height, flat bust, and wearing cultural Ul'dahn wear. She wore a calm smile on her face that is a tell-tale sign that she means no harm. She crouches down to the Lalafell's face level with her warm smile and said, "Why hello there~! It's not every sun we have guests~! What can I do for you, mister Lala?" Link to comment
dread_pirate_star Posted April 5, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted April 5, 2015 The lalafell in question grunts. "Aye, lass, I've 'eard tell this is a library? I'm lookin' for a book on voidsent. Name's Zozokymo." Link to comment
SM Nick Posted April 5, 2015 Share #4 Posted April 5, 2015 The Hyur is silent for a second, but nods. "Alice. If you want I will show you the way to the main library. Be careful not to disturb my brother studying there. He's...reclusive." Link to comment
dread_pirate_star Posted April 5, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted April 5, 2015 Zozo nods. "Aye, if ye say so. I can keep meself quiet." He'd follow the Hyur. Link to comment
SM Nick Posted April 5, 2015 Share #6 Posted April 5, 2015 Alice leads the Lalafell deeper into the hallway, passing by several doors until they enter a huge room filled to the brim with bookshelves, left and right. There are ladders that lead to the upper shelves for those that can't reach. Right now it's kinda dark except for a single light coming from the center of the room, where another green-haired bespectacled Hyur is reading a book with a lantern nearby sitting at a desk. Alice, whispering: "Here it is. Be careful." Link to comment
dread_pirate_star Posted April 5, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted April 5, 2015 Zozokymo looks around at the shelfs, and sighs. "I appreciate it, lass, but any chance ye could point me towards the right shelf? I'd hate ta spend the rest o' me days here, searchin'." Link to comment
SM Nick Posted April 5, 2015 Share #8 Posted April 5, 2015 Alice: "I'm not sure. I don't spend as much time here as my brother over there. Perhaps try towards the back." She points towards the back shelves, filled with more cryptic and rare lore than the ones in front. Link to comment
dread_pirate_star Posted April 5, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted April 5, 2015 Zozo nods at the girl. "Much appreciated, lass." He begins to swagger off towards the back bookshelfs, passing right by the man in the center of the room as he does so. Link to comment
SM Nick Posted April 5, 2015 Share #10 Posted April 5, 2015 The Hyur man does not notice the Lalafell passing by him, and merely flips another page of his book, and adjusting his glasses with his hand. Link to comment
dread_pirate_star Posted April 5, 2015 Author Share #11 Posted April 5, 2015 Zozo manages to make his way to the back, and starts climbing a ladder. After all, when searching for things, best to go top to bottom, fore to aft. He manages the climb without incident, and runs his finger along the books as he reads them, needing to sound them out. SM Nick Posted April 5, 2015 Share #12 Posted April 5, 2015 The Hyur stops reading his book when he feels something is off. He readjusts his glasses as he looks around him. Librarian: "Peculiar. Is there a draft in the room? Alice?" Alice: "Nothing's wrong, Max." Max: "Hmm..." He starts to go in the direction of the Lalafell, but still not noticing him. Link to comment
dread_pirate_star Posted April 5, 2015 Author Share #13 Posted April 5, 2015 Zozokymo continues to read off the names of books, slowly going through them. He turns his head slightly at the sound of talking, listening in, before going back to searching. Link to comment
SM Nick Posted April 5, 2015 Share #14 Posted April 5, 2015 Max eventually notices a ladder nearby one of the shelves in the back. Max: "Was that ladder there before???" He then looks up to see the lalafell, then giving the lala a stern look. Link to comment
dread_pirate_star Posted April 5, 2015 Author Share #15 Posted April 5, 2015 Zozo feels a pair of stern eyes upon him, and looks down at the Hyur. "Aye, lad. The ladder was here before. I jus' started climbin' where I found it. Now, ye know where some books on voidsent are, by chance?" Link to comment
SM Nick Posted April 5, 2015 Share #16 Posted April 5, 2015 Max, keeping his stern look, replies to the question with another. Max: "...My sister let you in didn't she? Get out." Link to comment
dread_pirate_star Posted April 5, 2015 Author Share #17 Posted April 5, 2015 A quick flash of annoyance crosses Zozo's face. "Lad, I 'eard this 'ere was a library. I'm just lookin' for some knowledge to fight a beast that killed one of my own. If ye help me, I'll jus' be out o' your way that much quicker." Link to comment
SM Nick Posted April 5, 2015 Share #18 Posted April 5, 2015 Max: "I don't allow full access to my books of rare lore unless I get a full understanding of the circumstances. If you don't want to explain in detail, I am afraid you must leave." Link to comment
dread_pirate_star Posted April 5, 2015 Author Share #19 Posted April 5, 2015 Zozo slides down the ladder until he's at eye height with the hyur. "Alright then, lad. Ye want the full tale? I'm lookin' for information on an ancient voidsent that was recently released an' is causing no small number o' problems for my free company, includin' killin' people. The quicker me and mine find a solution, the fewer people die. If ye want somethin' more concrete then that, I'll can show ye the house in the Lavender Beds. After I find the book." Link to comment
SM Nick Posted April 5, 2015 Share #20 Posted April 5, 2015 Max contemplates what to do for a while, before asking, Max: "Hmm...who is this voidsent exactly? Do you know their name?" Link to comment
dread_pirate_star Posted April 5, 2015 Author Share #21 Posted April 5, 2015 Zozo ponders how much to tell this man for a moment. "Aye. It's called Ieza." Link to comment
SM Nick Posted April 5, 2015 Share #22 Posted April 5, 2015 Max: "Ieza...Iezabelle!" His eyes suddenly opened much more and he rushed to a shelf getting a book and showing it to the Lala. Max: "Here's what you're looking for. I despise voidsent, so I have books like these to kill them for eternity." Link to comment
dread_pirate_star Posted April 5, 2015 Author Share #23 Posted April 5, 2015 Zozo eyes the book warily, reading the title out loud. "Dissertations on Ancient Allagan Relations with Voidsent, to include Capture, Containment, and Banishment. Aye, that may be it. I'll take it back to some o' my mateys, may have some good information." Link to comment
SM Nick Posted April 5, 2015 Share #24 Posted April 5, 2015 Max: "Hmm..............I should come with you. Ieza is a powerful voidsent and you may need my knowledge to banish her." Link to comment
dread_pirate_star Posted April 5, 2015 Author Share #25 Posted April 5, 2015 Zozo shrugs. "Sure, lad. Ye're welcome to come along and help us. Fair warin', though. I don' have final say on that." Link to comment
