Event Idea - The Eorzean Flea Market

• Performing folks (think buskers & street theatre) 
  
• Unsavories - the robbers and pick pockets
  
• Local tours - take people off on a walk or some excitement
  

 

I'm late, but I just wanna nth the love for stuff like this and the card readings and such. Seems like it'd be a great way to pull interested people into the RP if they're skirting around because they don't have anything to buy or any crafts to contribute to the flea market.

For a raffle I could offer a prize of a Craft-in-a-box. (a complete set of leve items needed to get from 15-50, as well as a set of class specific crafting gear)

 

in fact, if you want I can oversee the raffle and sort out a load of prizes for it....

Great idea. I've been in a few other rp communities in other games that had wonderful IC flee markets. There is just so much you can do with it. I'm just a beginning level crafter, but in all the games I've played, crafting has been a part of my character background somewhere, even if only in a minor sense.

 

And I'd like to add another "hell yes!" to the crowd saying we should make this a regular thing. In the past, I've seen a monthly event being perfect amount of time for people to get their wares together and give the event coordinators time to rest.

Yes to the in game IC stuff. I think if you can base it around the crafts and add in other things it could be quite rich. I know from organising large scale RL LARP events there are a few things that help.

 

• Crafts (as you already have)
  
• The Food & Drink tent or vendors
  
• Performing folks (think buskers & street theatre) 
  
• Unsavories - the robbers and pick pockets
  
• Local tours - take people off on a walk or some excitement
  
• Attractions - slides, games etc..
  

Depends if you want this to be an all day thing or an hour.

 

I'm would try and make this event even if it were crafters

 

As for locations, try the Golden or Silver Bazaars

Aye, I did mine at the golden bazaar. Was a great place to set it up too.
