Pipparoni Posted September 1, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 1, 2016 Heeyyoo everyone! I recently joined FFXIV. How recent you may ask? Some 5 days ago, and I'd like to get into the RP scene! A little bit about me: In the early 2000's, I played almost every MMO under the sun; WoW, Ragnarok Online, Mabinogi, FlyFF, etc., etc. Took a hiatus from the MMO scene some time around 2008 and came back this year after feeling some nostalgia and thus far, it's been great. I have been role-playing for about 8 or 9 years now, if memory serves me correct, though a majority of that experience has been through forum-based rp. I've gotten my toes into the water with MMO rping earlier this year in February and have been using it as a platform for rp ever since (going on straight 6 months). I've a lot of experience under my belt with different genres, some being more well-versed than others. Now, I am not entirely familiar with the world of Final Fantasy as a whole but I have been reading the lore like crazy! I'd, more than anything, love to meet some new people and get a network of rp buddies set up to weave some awesome stories and make some literary magic happen. Ideally, I'm itching to be a heavy rper, very frequent in my role-plays and am looking for hooks to a great story. If anyone could hit me up with some guidance, pointers, or even better-- helping me ease into the climate of rp in game -- that would be great! My server is Balmung, as I'm sure most others is! Delilah Scythewood Posted September 3, 2016 Share #2 Posted September 3, 2016 Heya and welcome! There's quite a bit of RP happening all about. Reading the lore is definitely a helpful first step! The Quicksand in Ul'dah is a good place to get your feet wet and an array of casual and more serious RPers drift through there pretty often. My suggestion is to figure out a race for your main character and then dive into as much lore as you possibly can! Learning the lore of a race helps give some pieces to work with for an overall backstory! Best of luck <3 Link to comment
