Hi, returning from hiatus.

Hello everyone, I am a returning player. I used to be on Balmung but took a long break and decided to create a character on Mateus upon return. I still have my characters on Balmung but for the moment am trying something new. A bit about me as an rper -

I've been rping for 15+ years and have done so in many games. I know FFXIV lore well enough to acceptably get around the game, I'd not be so brazen as to call myself an expert though. I very much enjoy more mature, darker themes, George R R. Martin type writing. I often play villains or anti-hero/villains though my characters are generally malleable, which means evil can turn to good or vice versa depending upon circumstance. I will do lighter themes but if I'm being honest, they're less entertaining for me. I am generally not casual in my writing. I can write two pages in a book at the snap of a finger, it is also more enjoyable for me to rp with other para and novelist type writers though I won't ever turn someone away if they wish interaction. Tell me what your character is feeling, thinking, I have enough experience to not meta game. Tell me how viciously wit-breaking their smile is. Tell me how their hair falls lavishly, cascading like an alabaster waterfall in waves about their shoulders and back. Tell me their giving me a stare that could possibly rend my characters soul or wither them like necrosis from the inside out. I love all of that description. I shine most when people put effort into interacting with me and I can assure I'll put it in back to match or exceed. I have few hangups and I'll state them upon setting up a scene with someone so one will not be in the dark about these things. I do prefer discussing and fleshing out ideas before actually jumping into them. I am not against random world interaction, I just find it less enjoyable than things that are set to go somewhere plot wise. I like to be fairly careful about what I get my characters involved in and who I get involved with as well.

Here is a bit about my character -

He is an alchemist and occultist, this is a fancy way of saying he deals in illegal chemical substances and pharmaceuticals as well as some illegal magics. Said character is from a rich Ul'Dahn merchant family with many connections in the import and export as well as medical trades. He looks in his mid to late twenties, is a Hyur Midlander and is about six feet and three inches tall. He has unblemished skin, sharp facial features, wine colored hair and striking green eyes. He is lean and keeps himself in good shape. He is adept with a rapier as well as offensive magic (Red Mage style combat but not ICly a red mage). My character is what could be considered a white-collar criminal, educated, wealthy, and out for himself. In personality he is intelligent, suave, courageous, passionate, and extremely loyal. He is also mistrustful, vindictive, possessive, jealous, reticent and can be aggressive. He is also sadistic especially if getting revenge on someone. If another can gain his trust and loyalty, which is no small task, they will have it until they lose it. Once one loses this it is unlikely they will ever have it again. He dislikes mind games intensely though he's very willing to play them, unfortunately his goal is not a game, it's to punish and ruin the other side for daring such a trifle with him, fun for himself only basically. He does not value loss of poise, weak people, those who are habitually disloyal, indecisiveness, and those who do not use their brains. I believe the closest alignment to him is Lawful Evil type.

Here is a bit about me as a person -

I am a Scorpio, in case that wasn't clear . I find that my sign describes my personality more than well. I can be bold, a bit intense and definitely am not afraid to say what is on my mind but I'm generally not tactless about it as i am an excellent communicator. I also don't speak much sometimes if I've nothing to say on a particular topic as I prefer to listen and dissect information. I state this next part because it seems there is an issue with this in mmo games over all and I wish no confusion on how I handle it. I ask for common courtesy/etiquette and will give the same, this is something very important to me and I'm capable of being assertive enough to simply drop someone completely over it and quickly. I think that is fair warning and all need said. I tend to be passionate about my stories and fairly loyal to them provided I do not get turned off of them by something very OOCly negative, IC negative is definitely a different story and welcome within reason of course. Anyways, that's pretty much all the need to know.

I will create a sheet for my character eventually, till then please if one has any questions, feel free to ask directly! Thank you for reading this massive wall of text and I look forwards to interacting with you all!

Welcome back 

 

I'm a fellow para-rper, though in all my years of role-playing in MMOs I never knew there was a term for it before beginning my journey in Final Fantasy XIV. I just thought everyone wrote paragraph responses in roleplay. Lol. Boy was I wrong and realized there are many different ways. 

 

Your character sounds interesting, and if I ever need an antagonist for a story arch.  . . Or cone to think of it even an arch rival for one of my characters I will look you up.

Also, with character creation back on Balmung I expect the community to shift back to that server again. But time will tell.

Welcome back to the fun and the fray. It's a shame you've moved away from Balmung but should you return I imagine I can keep pace with you. I mostly stopped in to post my amusement since I'm not on Mateus. I'm the Leo best friend of a Scorpio so if I know one thing it's to expect ungodly intensity and never, ever make an enemy of a Scorpio. They're vicious creatures. I mean that respectfully of course... but I can also see why you'd forewarn! ?

I enjoy writing so descriptively and lengthily I've had to move to Google Drive and a mutual document with folks now and then. I don't mind toning it down as I know not everyone is trying to write a novel but seems you are as well so good times may he had.
