1. Be Respectful: We are all different people who may express ourselves differently. Regardless if you agree with someone, please be respectful and kind to fellow members. If you have a problem with another member please try and speak with them privately. If an issue cannot be resolved please consider speaking to the FC staff. We are here to help and want to make everyone feel welcome.

2. No Hate Speech: Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, and remarks made to disparage someone’s religious beliefs will not be tolerated. Please leave your prejudice at the door.

3. Inappropriate Behavior:  Do not flirt with fellow FC members or make unwanted advances. This is kind of a common sense rule. We are not a bar or a dating site. If you’re close with someone and this is normal, that is fine, but please do not make advances on FC members.

4. Respect Roleplay Scenes: If you see people roleplaying in an area of the house or yard, please do not jump around that area or loiter. Should you wish to observe an RP (you stalker) please stay out of sight and preferably on another floor.

The house is open to everyone however it’s primary purpose is for roleplaying. Please be respectful of RPers in a scene.

1. No Godmodding: This rule seems simple at first but it's something a lot of people slip up on. Your character is not all powerful, nor are they the best at everything. Weakness is what makes a great character just as much as their strengths. Characters that godmod tend to invalidate the experience of everyone they RP with. What's the point in being good at something at the sacrifice of others when there's someone who just happens to be amazing at all things?

2. Fight Fair: This ties in with rule 1 but expands. If you are roleplaying combat with another player character do not auto-hit, their character. You may swing a sword at another, but you alone do not determine if it hits or how much damage it does. Roleplaying is a team effort and requires we work together to create something we can all be happy with.

3. No Metagaming: Metagaming is a serious problem and if it happens it can derail an entire plot and cause a great deal of trust issues between RPers. Metagaming is when you find something out OOCly that your character does not know and you then roleplay that your character has acquired that information. Say Joe in the bar is actually a Garlean spy and your character has no idea; So you are talking to Biff, the writer of Joe the Garlean spy, and they're talking about their plot with you and telling you about their character (we all do it). If you then go and roleplay your character knowing this information, then not only have you betrayed Biff's trust but you've partook in metagaming.

Talking about your character's plot with another RPer is an act of trust and should be respected. If you want to have your character find out a bit of plot you've heard about OOCly, then ask the roleplayer and work to plot with them if they're interested.

4. Lore Bending/Breaking: In many instances, lore breaking/bending will need to be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Lore breaking is discouraged, however, lore bending is fine. The rule of thumb is: If you can justify it with in-game lore or make it sound possible, it’s probably okay. However, if it blatantly goes against the in-game lore then it is likely not okay. If you’re not sure if your story is lore bending or breaking, we are here to help & are always happy to talk about lore!

5. IC/OOC Separation: This can be an issue for some people where their character may be treated badly or get in an in-character argument. That RPer might get upset or think the person RPing the other character dislikes them. Please remember that what is done ICly, does not reflect on how someone feels OOCly. If you find yourself getting upset by what is happening in an RP, it might be best to excuse yourself or talk to that person.
6. Regarding ERP: ERP is a thing a lot of RPers engage in and that’s fine. However, it is also something that can get out of hand and ruin RP groups very quickly. First and foremost, we are not an ERP focused FC. If you join the FC and immediately start ERPing or soliciting ERP from our members, you may get a warning. We don’t care if you ERP in your private chambers, but absolutely no ERP is to happen in public spaces.
